This cool old Buick is up for auction from Cookeville TN. This was located since the Mid 80's in a shop that bought it when the transmission quite working. Then the new owner pulled all the carpet out when he was worried about floor rust. Fast Forward to 2012 when we seen this car still in the old shop pushed against the wall. We bought the vehicle to restore has we are the owners of a full service resto shop in Cookeville. Our 12,000 square foot shop is full of vehicles and we decide to make some room for customers cars. Our intent was restore and modify into a cool cruiser. We have purchased a low mileage 500 Cadilac motor and turbo 400 trans from a 75 Caddy that is not part of this auction, but could be purchased separetly. The 445 Wildcat motor is said to be a 325 HP 401 Cubic inch Nail head and is believed to be original to the car. The car body is solid and the under side appears to be just surface rust. The passenger side floor next to rocker is weak with rust but rocker look strong. By the rear pillar on the drivers side has small rust holes. There is some rust on bottom of rear quarter panels and a rust hole in front of rear tire on both sides. The frame is solid and that includes over rear wheels. The body was undercoated long ago and looks like it kept the underside in great shape There are more pic's of this that i can send if you call and give me your email address. All of the stainless trim is with car and front trim on lower hood is in truck with door sill plated and heavy aluminum turbine and spinner hub caps. There are also extra parts that came with car including extra grill, fenders and front bumper. There is also extra complete dash instrument cluster. Unbelievable how much the cluster weighs. This GM car is a radical and rare body style that is awesome when compared to the "yawn" Tri-Five offerings from Chevy or the other GM product lines. This car is long, sleek, low and shows real engineering artistic design. Oh, it has Fins. Big fins!. The odometer shows 56003 miles. It has been park for 25-30 years. There is a clear West Virgina title.
Car is shipped out of Cookeville TN. Car can be restored to new owners taste right here in our shop to what ever level is desired. Any questions or comments will be answered by eBay email or call 931-432-6377 Be realistic in your bidding. |

Question of the Day: Coolest factory-supercharged car?
Thu, Apr 28 2016Last week, we discussed possible engine-swap recipients for the plentiful-in-every-junkyard Eaton-supercharged GM 3800 V6 engine. The Buicks, Oldsmobiles, and Pontiacs that came with that engine from the factory were reasonably cool, of course, but when you look at all the production cars that have been available with supercharging over the decades you can find some pretty amazing stuff. My personal favorite has to be the Paxton-blown Studebaker Larks of the early 1960s, partly because the Lark was just about the stodgiest-looking, sleepiest little sedan available in America, possibly the most ridiculous recipient of a howling force-fed V8 imaginable, and partly because of the name of the optional supercharged 289-cubic-inch V8 you could get in the Lark: Jet-Thrust! What do you say is the coolest factory-supercharged car of all time? Related Video: Auto News Buick Automotive History Performance Classics supercharger questions
Opel Cascada close to getting green light for US
Fri, 13 Sep 2013For a company with a long tradition of grand touring convertibles, it's almost unseemly that General Motors doesn't offer a properly relaxed four-seat convertible in North America. There's the Chevrolet Camaro, of course, but it's not big on rear-seat space and it doesn't offer that sort of serene demeanor that many open-air buyers crave. We're thinking of something more refined and, dare we say, elegant. Something a bit closer to the Opel Cascada.
The General's front-wheel drive convertible went on sale in Europe this year, and while it seemed like a natural fit for its Buick brand in America, it's never been sold here. That may be about to change, however. Back in June, CEO Dan Akerson hinted he'd like to see the Cascada available in the US, and now there's word from Edmunds that importation "could happen soon." That's according to an unnamed insider at the company.

2022 Buick Envision mostly costs a little less than in 2021
Mon, Feb 14 2022When Buick gave the world the second-gen Envision for the 2021 model year, the brand also gave Buick shoppers big discounts, cutting $1,700 from the entry-level Preferred trim's price compared to 2021. Buick's done the same on a smaller scale for 2022, albeit this time the brand made it an exchange, not a freebie. Pricing for the 2022 Envision after the $1,195 destination charge, as well as the differences from 2021, is: Preferred FWD: $32,695 ($300 less) Preferred ST FWD: $34,140 ($180 less) Preferred AWD: $36,345 ($1,550) Preferred ST AWD: $37,790 ($1,670) Essence FWD: $36,795 ($400 less) Essence ST FWD: $38,290 ($230 less) Essence AWD: $38,595 ($400 less) Essence ST AWD: $40,090 ($230 less) Avenir FWD: $41,045 ($550 less) Avenir AWD: $42,845 ($550 less) Buick's publicized list of changes for the 2022 Envision are the addition of a new Sapphire Metallic exterior color, and the Sport Touring package now including the "ST" logo embroidered on the front seat headrests and alloy pedals for all trims, plus contrasting red stitching on the Essence ST trim. What Buick left out, as GM Authority reports, is that some previously standard equipment is now optional, explaining the discounts of a few hundred bucks. Buyers need to buy a new $200 Safety Package to get blind spot and rear cross traffic alerts, which used to be standard with the Driver Confidence Plus suite. Powered lumbar for the driver's seat is also a new option that was formerly standard, bundled with different items and costing a different amount depending on trim. The real shocker is the four-figure price leap tacked onto the Preferred all-wheel-drive trims. In 2021, it cost $1,800 to send power to the rear axle. For 2022, it costs $3,650 to get AWD on the Preferred, but the AWD option on Essence and Avenir trims hasn't budged from $1,800. We aren't clear on the reasons for the change. Every Avenir is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 230 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, shifting through a nine-speed automatic transmission. Related video:
