Bentley EXP 10 Speed 6 Concept is a British Racing Green dream [w/video]

"Oh, hey there Bentley EXP10 Speed 6. You're damn handsome." That, of course, was our reaction to seeing Crewe's latest concept under the lights of Geneva's Palexpo convention center after yesterday's debut. Finished in a gorgeous, heavily metallic shade of British Racing Green, the EXP 10 Speed 6 is, as we said yesterday, a truly different take on what we've come to expect from Bentley. It's low, featuring a classic long-hood, short-deck design that expands on the British luxury marque's traditional styling features. The egg-crate grille and quad headlights give the Speed 6 a face that is at the same time new and familiar, while the wide rear haunches bleed over the rear wheels and add to the car's svelte silhouette. The cabin, meanwhile, is absolutely striking. Open the swan-wing doors and aside from the tan quilted Poltrona Frau leather on the seats and doors, the aluminum accents on the steering wheel and shifter are the big aesthetic takeaways. The digital dash and tablet-like center stack are modern takes that Bentley desperately needs to implement in its production models, while the cockpit-like layout places a greater focus on the driver than even the more enthusiastic Continental GT. Bentley confirms SUV for 2016

It looks like the addition of a Royal Baby isn't the only big news coming out of the UK this week. Bentley has ended all of the will they/won't they speculation by confirming today that it will produce an SUV. Earmarked to go on sale in 2016, the as-yet unnamed Bentley SUV will help create an extra 1,000 jobs in the UK.
While no concrete details have been released, Bentley says that it will be the "most luxurious and most powerful SUV" on the market. Past rumors have indicated that the SUV could look completely different from the 2012 EXP 9 F Concept shown above, be renamed the Falcon and offer options like a plug-in hybrid version and three-row seating. To prepare for a fourth model in its lineup, Bentley will be investing 800 million British pounds (around $1.2 billion USD) into its Crewe headquarters and production lines over the next three years. 2015 Bentley Mulsanne Speed

Why does the Bentley Mulsanne Speed exist? Sam Graham, product line director for the Mulsanne, tells us Bentley's Western customers demanded it, many driven by memories of the Arnage T - the hotted-up version of the Arnage R. The Arnage T, you may remember, arrived in 2002 and threw down 459 horsepower and 645 pound-feet of torque on its way to being billed the most powerful production Bentley ever. Today's Mulsanne Speed picks up the torch and takes it all the way to the Olympic stadium.
Driving Notes
It starts with an upgrade to 530 hp at 4,200 rpm and 811 lb-ft of torque at a limbo-esque 1,750 rpm. That's an additional 25 hp and 86 lb-ft compared to the standard sedan, enabling a top speed of 190 miles per hour. That torque figure makes it second only to the Bugatti Veyron among production cars, and that terminal velocity makes it the fastest ultra-luxury sedan on God's Own Green.
