I regularly buy and sell ultra-luxury and exotics. It is not uncommon to
see Bentleys with the dash lights lit up like a Christmas tree from careless use, neglect, and lack of service. It
is also not uncommon to see a new buyer excited about one of those neglected cars, only to learn later that what
they bought requires $10,000 to $15,000 worth of service because of deferred maintenance just to be safe and
usable. Something goes wrong, and when these are out of warranty, they are expensive to repair. Here, you get none
of that. This one is light years apart from those neglected beaters. It is absolutely exceptional, fully serviced,
and ready to go.
Everything this car has ever needed has been done. When the current owner first acquired this one in 2014, it was
sent to Post Oak Bentley in Houston to have an extensive service done. At that time, the sagging headliner (which
these cars are known for) was repaired by the dealership. The vacuum pump was replaced with a new genuine OEM
Bentley pump. A "smoke test" was performed to identify any leaks in the system and the vacuum piping was replaced
where needed. EGT sensors were replaced for banks "A" and "B." Spark plugs were replaced. Engine air cleaners were
replaced as well as the in-cabin pollen filters. Brake fluid was checked and topped off. Key fob battery was
replaced. A full fluid and filter service was performed.
More recently, this Bentley was treated to brand new batteries, new tires and an alignment. The front air shocks
were beginning to sag over the period of about two days. These were replaced with new Arnot air shocks that carry a
lifetime warranty and are believed by many Bentley owners to be superior to the OEM equipment. There was also some
leakage in the air shock tubing and the tubing that supplies the air shocks was also replaced.

Bentley Bentayga plug-in hybrid spied using V6 power
Fri, Jul 7 2017Bentley confirmed plans for a plug-in hybrid version of the Bentayga in early 2015 and said the electric SUV would be ready for 2017. It seems that the luxury automaker will keep its word, because one of our spy photographers spotted this nearly undisguised model out testing. It looks identical to the normal Bentayga, with the exception of an additional little flap on the left side for a plug. Although Bentley confirmed the hybrid's development way back in 2015, it left out a few details about what the powertrain would be, only saying it would either be a V8 or a V6. Our spy photographer was able to shed some light on this by looking up the prototype's registration. Apparently it has a 3.0-liter engine under its proud hood, so it's a reasonable bet the Bentayga has a V6. Since Bentley promised the hybrid would be ready for 2017, and because this car is hiding almost nothing, we would expect to see the car make a full debut by the end of the year. It should have an electric range of just over 30 miles. Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R named Road & Track Performance Car of the Year
Mon, Nov 9 2015With a 526-horsepower, 5.2-liter V8 that roars to 8,250 rpm, it's really hard to consider the 2016 Ford Shelby Mustang GT350R an underdog in any fight. However, the Shelby held the lowest as-tested price and was only middle of the pack in terms of power in Road & Track's 2016 Performance Car of the Year challenge. The 'Stang's numbers clearly didn't tell the whole story about the potent coupe because Ford's muscle car grabbed the title in this year's test. A model needs to be new or significantly updated to be eligible for the honor, and R&T found an impressive slate of eight candidates this year. The challengers included the Bentley Continental GT3-R, Cadillac ATS-V Coupe, Chevrolet Corvette Z06, Dodge Viper ACR, Mercedes-AMG GT S, and Porsche Cayman GT4. The Ferrari 488 GTB was the most expensive of the bunch with an as-tested price of $347,942, which is five times more than the Shelby. Once the group was together, R&T hustled them over curving roads and on the National Corvette Museum Motorsports Park. There was a lot to love about the Shelby, even in this impressive crew. "With a flat-plane crank and Sport Cup 2 tires, the GT350R is a Mustang turned up to 11," editor-in-chief Larry Webster said in the announcement of the results. The GT350R joins some great company. Past winners include the Porsche 911 GT3 last year and the Corvette in 2013. For some fantastic photography and the complete appraisal of these performance machines check out R&T's website for the full story. The article appears in the December/January issue, on newsstands November 17, and on RoadandTrack.com. "With a flat-plane crank and Sport Cup 2 tires, the GT350R is a Mustang turned up to 11," said Larry Webster, editor-in-chief of Road & Track. "Not only does the car have soul and harness so much firepower with such ease, but the real achievement here is that it's so approachable. It's a car you can't help but love." The Mustang Shelby GT350R was the winner by a runaway vote.
Bentley marks 95th anniversary with special Mulsanne
Thu, 15 May 2014The top end of the new car market seldom seems to need much justification for rolling out a new special edition - other than bringing in a few extra bucks and making its customers feel extra special in the process. Bentley, for its part, is celebrating its 95th anniversary this year, and to mark the occasion has released a special edition of its top-of-the-line Mulsanne saloon.
Called the Mulsanne 95, the limited-edition limo gets three very British color options, dark-tint finish for the Flying B hood ornament and special 21-inch wheels. Step inside and you'll find two-tone blue and white leather with red top-stitching, with a 95 motif embroidered into the seats and special illuminated treadplates, all offset by special Fulbeck Walnut panels that come from a single, giant walnut tree some 300 to 400 years old that came down in a storm in Lincolnshire in 2007.
Buyers will be able to choose between Britania Blue, Empire Red or Oxford White, but only 15 examples will be made available, and all exclusively in Bentley's home UK market.
