Jay Leno's 1930 Bentley GJ 400 is a 27-liter monster

Jay Leno's Garage never fails to impress - and by that we mean both the YouTube channel and the actual place. The latest online bit features another truly insane vehicle. Leno's 1930 Bentley GJ 400 isn't actually a classic car and has few Bentley parts on it. It's really a modern custom with vintage looks and a 27-liter Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engine for power. This machine is absolutely immense, and weighs over three tons.
The Merlin engine was one the workhorses of World War II-era planes. In the GJ 400, Leno believes the V12 is making around 650-700 horsepower. Although, he admits that it could probably be pushed to over 1,000 if someone wanted to. However, he clearly loves this behemoth just the way it is.
While the design is classic, the mechanicals are relatively modern. The engine is fuel injected, and power routes through an automatic transmission to the rear wheels. Many of the updated pieces are hidden as well. For example, what looks like a blower at the front actually disguises an oil cooler.

I'm senior editor Greg Migliore and this is your Autoblog Minute Weekly Recap. FCA reached a tentative labor agreement with UAW leadership. The major focus of the new deal reportedly includes: the eventual elimination of the two-tier pay scale [00:00:30] and pooling worker health care. Now that a leadership agreement is in place, the deal will be sent to FCA's rank-and-file. FCA has about 36,000 hourly employees. We got a first look at the interior and exterior of the 10th-generation Civic. Honda expects the new sedan to dominate the C-segment when it hits dealerships later this fall. Civic coupe, five-door hatchback, Si and Type R will all come later. The 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show is in the books and there was a lot of news to get excited about. [00:01:00] Porsche introduced a fully electric concept car in the Mission E. If they make this car, Porsche could give Tesla nightmares. We also saw SUVs from Jaguar and Bentley. There were two beautiful Italian convertibles from Ferrari and Lamborghini. Meanwhile, Mercedes introduced a concept of their own in the IAA - a vehicle that experiments with adaptable aerodynamics. Bentley will black out the Flying Spur's trim for $4,735

Just because a car brand is premium, and exclusive, and expensive does not mean it is immune to the most popular automotive trends. Like the Ram 1500, the Honda Pilot, and the Fiat 500L, the Bentley Flying Spur will now be offered in a specification with blacked-out parts.  Bentley introduced the third generation of the Flying Spur during summer 2019, and now that it's had some time to settle in, new options are starting to roll out. This exact package is called the Blackline. Not to be confused with Lexus Blackline models, or the Harley-Davidson FXS Blackline Softail.  Nearly all the brightwork on the exterior of the sport sedan has been darkened. This includes the Flying B hood ornament, the radiator vanes, the grilles, the side window surrounds, the lower door and rear door trim, the front and rear light bezels, the door handles, the wing vents, and the exhaust outlets.  The Flying Spur has black parts, but it is not completely blacked out. Buyers still have the option of picking between 17 standard colors and 13 "extended range" colors. The standard wheels on the Flying Spur Blackline are 21-inch (no, they're not all black) with the option for 22-inch Mulliner Driving Specification wheels. There is no mention of any changes to the interior. The Blackline package will be available on the Flying Spur soon for $4,735.
