Santa Barbara, California, United States
IMPORTANT NOTICE: IF YOU ARE NOT A SERIOUS, EXPERIENCE EBAY BUYER DO NOT BID. THE WINNING BUYER DECIDED THAT HE WOULD RE-NEG ON HIS OBLIGATION TO PURCHASE THE BENTLEY, DESPITE HIS OBLIGATION TO DO SO. HE HAS BEEN REFERRED TO RESOLUTION AND THE BENTLEY IS BEING RELISTED. GREAT CAR, FOR 1/2 THE NADA HIGH RETAIL PRICE. GOOD LUCK. 1993 Bentley Brooklands Short Wheelbase Sedan You are bidding on a beautiful example of a classic Bentley Brooklands Sedan. The car has 65K miles since new and has been meticulously maintained. The black paint is beautiful, as is the cream with black piping, Connolly leather interior. The Wilton wool carpets and mats show no wear and the walnut burl wood is in great shape. Tires are in very good condition, as is the glass and chrome. Headliner is perfect. The car starts immediately, drives perfectly and handles like a car half its size. Whether in town, or highway driving the Bentley is the nicest, well-appointed car I have ever owned. My wife and I recently relocated to Santa Barbara, from Kansas City, Missouri. We brought four cars with us; a 1978 Citroen AK250, a 1957 Porsche Speedster, a 1966 Morris Minor convertible and a 1967 MGB. We sold our Audi TT coupe and our Volvo C30, before we left Missuori. Once on the West Coast, we needed a four door, four seat car. I reached out to Chequered Flag International, in Marina del Rey, with whom I have been buying and selling cars for almost twenty years. We made a trade (plus cash) for the Bentley, surrendering the MGB. More recently, we have been given an opportunity to acquire an Audi A7 sedan, from a family friend,at a very good price. We have an opportunity to help our friends out. Truth is; we do not need two four door, four seat automobiles. Honestly, we drive the Morris and the Porsche, 90% of the time. We acquired the Bentley at a price far below market value, so you as the buyer benefit from that. According to the NADA automobile pricing index:
Original Low Average High
$138,500 $24,200 $31,800 $41,200 To be clear, this car is easily above average condition, actually much closer to High Retail. The reserve price is approximately half of the High Retail price. If you have ever wanted to own a fine, classic, hand-built British classic, this is your prime opportunity. Please e-mail me with any questions and I will answer them promptly. The car is being advertised here in Santa Barbara, so I reserve the right to end the auction early, in the event the car sells before the end of the auction. You may "show up" in a Mercedes, or BMW, but you ARRIVE in a Bentley. Good luck bidding. You will not be disappointed.

This Bentley Bentayga takes fly fishing very seriously
Tue, Jul 19 2016Bentley's Mulliner coachbuilding division has put together a kit for what we assume are maybe three Bentayga drivers that enjoy fly fishing. As the company tells it, the kit packs everything a fisherman could need for a successful day on the river right in the big soft-roader's cargo hold. It's packaged in the only Bentley that has a chance of getting you to that river, too. Mulliner's upholstery and trim expertise is on full display – everything in the kit is either covered in saddle leather with white contrast stitching or finished in Burr walnut. The four leather-wrapped tubes on the underside of the tonneau cover house the fishing rods, while the master tackle box, refreshment case, and a box for stowing waders and boots sit on the cargo floor. Mulliner loaded down the tackle box with tools, cotton, hooks, and feathers to tie flies, and it includes four reel cases milled from solid aluminum. The refreshment case doesn't actually come with refreshments, but it does have three metal flasks and a set of china tableware, plus a food storage compartment. The tackle box and refreshment case both slide out for easy accessibility, and if an owner is short on seating, the entire housing can serve as a small bench. The waterproof storage compartment is removable, too, in case you need cargo space instead of pole storage. The best thing about this kit is the lengths Mulliner went to in order to keep the rear of the vehicle dry and fresh – the floor is waterproof and there's an electronic dehumidifier to keep things from smelling funky. Bentley didn't say when the fly fishing kit will be available, and because this is an ultra-exclusive luxury car, pricing wasn't published. Bentley shows Mulsanne Speed 'Blue Train' by Mulliner
Sat, Apr 18 2015Bentley is honoring its racing heritage with a new, very limited-edition version of its Mulsanne Speed sedan. It's called the Blue Train, and it was created to remember the victory of the company's iconic Speed Six in 1930. In that contest, Bentley Chairman Woolf Barnato accepted a challenge to not only beat the high-speed Le Train Bleu from Cannes to Calais, but that he could be in London by the time the train reached the English Channel. Barnato won the race, and from then on, the car he drove was known as the Blue Train Bentley. The spiritual successor to that Speed Six, just four Mulsanne Speeds were handed to Mulliner for another of the coachbuilder's Limited Edition treatments. Exterior upgrades are kept simple, with unique black wheels, a menacing, almost steel-blue paint and grilles that look slightly darkened. In all, it's pretty simple. Interior changes are limited, with Bentley saying the fluting on the door panels is based on the Barnato's Speed Six, while the wood veneer on the dash has an image of the race winner on it. In back, there's a personalized "hamper" (picnic basket, to us Yanks) that's been finished in Burnt Oak and Camel leather, so that it matches the interior. Inside, demanding owners are treated to "Robbe and Berking silver plated cutlery, Haviland Limoges porcelain crockery, Linley crystal champagne flutes and a 100-percent Angora picnic rug, woven in Scotland." Naturally, there are Blue Train details on things like the silverware holders. "The fact that we are producing just four of these Limited Editions is highly significant, as Barnato famously made it to the club in London four minutes before the train arrived in Calais," Bentley's regional director for Europe, Robert Engstler, said in a statement. "The unique design elements bring back nostalgic memories of one of the most legendary Bentleys of all times." We only have a pair of images of the newest Blue Train Bentley right now, and just one of the actual exterior of the vehicle itself. It's a looker, to be sure. Check it out, and then scroll down for the official press release from Bentley.
Bentley designing SUV to reach 200 mph?
Mon, 24 Mar 2014The 200 MPH Club was once populated entirely by exotic sports cars. These days it has expanded to include convertibles, sedans and even station wagons. But an SUV? Unthinkable, what with their aerodynamic profile approaching that of a barn door. Bentley, however, is out to change that with its forthcoming new sport ute.
Not only is the British automaker aiming to make its first SUV fully capable off road, it's also engineering it to be one of the fastest on the road as well. According to emerging reports coming in from the UK, Bentley is streamlining the SUV's shape with a lower roofline and reprofiled rear end and fitting it with advanced underbody aerodynamic aids in order to compensate for its over-six-foot width and get it up to the magic 200-mph mark.
Reaching out to Bentley for comment, its communications office wouldn't divulge such performance targets: "The SUV is in the engineering development stage, so unfortunately it's too soon to discuss performance figures," we were told via email. "It will of course have all the power and performance that one would expect from a Bentley!" If the information proves correct, however, at that speed, it would be able to keep pace with the faster members of the Continental family, but leave the Mulsanne flagship sedan (which is already approaching the size of an SUV) and its 185-mph top speed in the dust - not to mention the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S that is quoted at "only" 175 mph.
