Spring is here and it's time to take the top down and get out into the sunshine. This car has spent most of its life going from one garage space to another across mostly highway miles. Aside from a few minor blemishes and a scuff on the front fender (see picture), both the paint and the cloth top are in pristine condition. Body and under body has absolutely no rust. The car was involved in a minor fender bender about 6 years ago. No air bag deployment and the entire front bumper was replaced. The oil has recently been changed and the mechanic made no service recommendations that needed to be addressed during the visit. The only known issue that the car has, is that the driver's side seat heater does not work. The car is so well insulated and the heat works so well, we never used the heated seats anyways. Engine runs strong and the transmission shifts smoothly through all 5 gears. A/C works well. Pick up or delivery is the buyer's responsibility. ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING. THERE ARE NO RETURNS. BMW may keep next 1 Series out of the US

As BMW prepares to introduce the all-new 2 Series coupe and convertible, the 1 Series name definitely won't be going away. We know new sedan and hatchback models are in the works; including the GT shown above. According to Car and Driver, though, the future of the 1 Series nameplate in the US could be dependent on rival premium small cars like the Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class and Audi A3.
In an interview with C/D, BMW's North American head of product planning and strategy, Paul Ferraiolo, said that pricing might be the biggest deterrent to offering the third-gen 1 Series in the US. As he points out, BMW currently prices the 1 not too far from the 3 Series, but Mercedes-Benz and Audi will have their new small cars priced well below the $30,000 mark. BMW's Mini brand will also factor into the consideration since the 1 GT will share its underpinnings with the next-gen Cooper lineup.

2015 BMW i8 configurator is ready to show the future

Good news if you're one of the lucky few that can afford the new BMW i8. The high-performance hybrid's configurator has gone live on BMW USA's consumer website, meaning you can head in and customize till you drop.
If you've ever played with a BMW configurator, you'll instantly feel at home with the i8's. You have the choice of four trim packages (your author refuses to use BMW's pretentious "World" trim names), followed by wheel and exterior paint options. The interior choices are fixed to the trim level, so aside from trim, color and the choice of two wheel options, there isn't a lot to pick out on the i8.
