2005, black exterior, black interior, low mileage BMW Z-4 with just 50,250 miles.

2.5 liter in-line 6 cylinder engine, runs fantastic!

Auto transmission with the ability to change gears manually.

A/C is cold. Heat is hot.

Windshield was chipped, so we got a brand new windshield installed. One of the good ones, not a cheap one.

We added a removable plexiglass windscreen. You can remove it in one minute and put in the trunk if you want more breeze in your hair.

You'll also find aftermarket elbow rests on the doors and a center console.

Just had an oil change, only the best synthetic.

CD player, cruise control, power windows, power door locks.

Kelly Blue Book value has it rated over $16,000.

I bought the car from a car dealership 2 1/2 years ago.

Because we just added another car, there is no room in the garage for the Z-4 now, where it is usually kept from the Florida sun.

Also, it has a few issues, which are figured into the asking price. There is a dent on the front passenger quarter panel where it touched a tree in a driveway. The power top just became a manual top as the $250 motor evidently needs replaced. It's actually quicker to put up and down now than it was.  We use the key to open the doors as we can't figure out how to replace the battery in the remote. The subwoofer just started making a funny noise when cranked up all the way with the bass level to the right. I also just noticed a noise from the right rear that to me sounds like a pebble stuck inside the wheel somewhere.  With these things, it falls into KBB's good column and they say to sell it for over $16,000, but I just want it sold quick, so I'm letting it go for thousands and thousands less!!!  We still owe the bank money on it, so the title will take a week or two. Just being honest about everything. Car has the flat tire system, but the tires are not run-flat tires, so the dash light for the run flat system is on. I'm sure it can be disabled, but I haven't researched it. Comes with the factory owners manual. There are of course some light scratches here and there on the paint.  I didn't have time to clean the car before taking the pictures here, so you'll see bugs on the front.  We've put some removable vinyl lettering on the car that has a website address. I'll transfer ownership of that domain name to you at no charge. It's valuable all by itself. The Z4 is available for sale locally, so it's possible that it might be sold before auction end.  It is still being driven some, so the mileage will go up slightly, perhaps 100-200 miles by auction end.  I've been completely honest about all the issues.  Of course, the car is sold as-is with no warranty of any kind.  I've sold an Escalade and a Mustang here on ebay and received the following feedback on them...

Are future vehicular hacks inevitable?

Wed, Jul 29 2015

Before the hack of the Uconnect system in a Jeep Cherokee resulted in a 1.4-million vehicle recall, the potential software vulnerabilities in vehicles were already a hot topic with Congressional inquiries and even proposed legislation in the US. As cars' interconnected systems gain the ability to go online, they become open to a host of new threats. Automakers are trying to stop this, but it might be too late to put the genie back into the bottle. Throughout 2015, the issue of software security in vehicles has become increasingly vital. For example, the recent Jeep case wasn't even the biggest hack this year. In February, a major flaw was discovered in the BMW Connected Drive service that allowed researchers to remotely lock and unlock the doors and potentially affected 2.2 million cars. The fix was an over-the-air patch for the problem. Automakers are actively working to fix the issues. Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Audi reportedly are using encrypted connections and firewalls in their vehicles to prevent hacking. "Absolute, 100-percent safety isn't possible," Daimler spokesperson Benjamin Oberkersch said to Automotive News Europe. "But we develop our systems, tested by internal and external experts, so they're up to date." These vulnerabilities seem to be popping up more often. A successful hack took $14 in parts from Radio Shack in one case. There was also a 60 Minutes report earlier in the year about DARPA's ability to hack into OnStar to take control of a Chevrolet Impala. Experts aren't so sure companies can contend with hackers' advancement. "The difficulty for the carmakers at the moment is the question whether they can keep pace with advances in technology, and especially hacking technology," Rainer Scholz, executive director for telematics consultant EY, said to Automotive News Europe. "We seriously doubt they can." At this point, vehicle hacks are coming more from researchers looking for holes than from those with malicious intent. Still, the vulnerabilities are definitely there. It's up to automakers to keep patching the problems before they become dangerous to drivers. Upcoming new BMW X6 leaks out ahead of full reveal

Thu, 05 Jun 2014

The X5 may have been the first BMW crossover on the market when it arrived in 2000, opening the door to more high-riding Bavarians to follow, but it's been replaced twice over now. The X3 is on its second generation, and with the X1 having been introduced in 2009 and the X4 soon to hit showrooms, that makes the X6 - introduced in 2008 - the oldest crossover in the BMW lineup. But it won't be for much longer.
Soon BMW will reveal the all-new X6, based on the latest X5 but with that tell-tale slanted roofline. But before it gets the chance, a handful of images have leaked their way all over the Internet to give us an advance look at what to expect.
The overall shape of the new X6 comes across as familiar, if a bit less of an awkward take on the vehicle that (for better or worse) launched the crossover coupe segment. Up front the twin kidney grilles and headlights are larger, in keeping with the latest BMW design language, and the bumper less horizontal and more dynamic. Towards the back there's a sharp crease above the wheel arch blending into the more rakishly shaped tail lights, while the metallic vent behind the front wheel arch lends the flank an even sportier appearance.

BMW M4 spied in coupe and convertible form

Thu, 29 Aug 2013

From the sound of it, we'll have to wait until the Detroit Auto Show to see the production version of the BMW M4, but spy shots show the new hi-po BMW testing recently in both coupe and convertible form. Showing a lot more skin than recent spy shots, these M4 prototypes look very similar to the M4 Concept we saw at Pebble Beach.
Carryovers from the concept car include the funky mirrors, bulging hood and the slotted front fascia vents, but the rear fascia seems to be missing the added flair of the concept and, as expected, the carbon fiber front splitter and exhaust tips are also missing from these M4s. Like the current M3 Convertible, the drop-top version of the M4 will utilize a retractable hard top.
