Hello and thank you for viewing my auction for my 2003 BMW Z4 3.0i

I purchased this car in Oct of 2011 in Dallas, TX with approx. 24,000 miles. Since then it has been my daily driver, used mostly to commute to and from work. It has always been garaged and hand washed. I have put it in several car shows over the past couple of years and it has done pretty well. It is in fantastic shape. I have kept all service records throughout my ownership and have enjoyed the car immensely. I have always used Redline full synthetic oil and Shell 93 grade gasoline. The car runs fantastic and shifts perfectly!

It is fully loaded and I believe has every option that was available in 2003. It has the 3.0 liter engine that produces 230hp matted to the 6 speed manual. Turn off the Traction Control and this car will move! It have full red leather interior, sport package, tire pressure monitoring system, power top, NAVIGATION WITH DVD, heated seats, acrylic wind deflector, carpet and all weather floor mats, bi-xenon headlights, etc...I put new rear tires on the car in Nov of 2013.

The pictures represent the condition of the car very well. I have been asked several times if it is a new car. It is in far above average condition but keep in mind there are minor stone chips on the front of the car and some minor curb rash on the wheels. I would never say any car is perfect, including a new one. I have all original manuals, atlas, leather carrying case, and both keys.

I live approx. 160 miles from where I have the car being stored. I am open to inspections and to show the car but this would have to be done on the 24th or 25th of May as I work full time during the week. If you are serious about the car please inquire with an email or call me at 254-485-4538 and I will do my best to answer any questions you may have.

If you are to have the car shipped it will be the buyers responsibility to arrange that with a shipping company. If you plan to fly into DFW I will be willing to pick you up and take you to the car on a Saturday or Sunday if you plan to drive it back.

Tesla in talks with BMW about batteries, charging collaborations

Wed, Nov 26 2014

With Toyota and Daimler no longer holding Tesla shares, the electric vehicle company might be looking for a new partner – possibly a Bavarian one. In a new interview with Germany's Der Spiegel, CEO Elon Musk confirmed that he has had talks with BMW execs about future collaboration. "We are talking about whether we can collaborate in battery technology or charging stations," Musk said in the interview, according to Reuters. However, a Tesla spokesperson has tempered things by saying no formal agreements are in place at the moment. In the same interview, Musk reportedly praised BMW's use of carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic in its i sub-brand offerings, and said he would like to have a battery factory in Germany in the next five or six years. The possibility of technological cooperation between Tesla and BMW has been a hot topic this year. In June, Musk reportedly met with BMW execs, and the two companies were also rumored to have met with Nissan to discuss charging technology. When Daimler sold off its shares, there was talk of it opening the way for possible collaboration between the two automakers, as well.

Defying Trump, major automakers finalize California emissions deal

Tue, Aug 18 2020

WASHINGTON — The California Air Resources Board (CARB) and major automakers on Monday confirmed they had finalized binding agreements to cut vehicle emissions in the state, defying the Trump administration's push for weaker curbs on tailpipe pollution. The agreements with carmakers Ford Motor Co, Volkswagen AG, Honda Motor Co and BMW AG were first announced in July 2019 as voluntary measures prompting anger from U.S. President Donald Trump. A month later, the Justice Department opened an antitrust probe into the agreements. The government ended the investigation without action. The Trump administration in March finalized a rollback of U.S. vehicle emissions standards to require 1.5% annual increases in efficiency through 2026. That is far weaker than the 5% annual increases in the discarded rules adopted under President Barack Obama. The 50-page California agreements, which extend through 2026, are less onerous than the standards finalized by the Obama administration but tougher than the Trump administration standards. The automakers have also agreed to electric vehicle commitments. Volvo Cars, owned by China's Geely Holdings, said in March it planned to join the automakers agreeing to the California requirements. It has also finalized its agreement. The settlement agreements say California and automakers agreed to resolve "potential legal disputes concerning the authority of CARB" and other states that have adopted California's standards. In May, a group of 23 U.S. states led by California and some major cities, challenged the Trump vehicle emissions rule. Other major automakers like General Motors Co, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV and Toyota Motor Corp did not join the California agreement. Those companies also sided with the Trump administration in a separate lawsuit over whether the federal government can strip California of the right to set zero emission vehicle requirements. Ford said the "final agreement will reduce emissions in our vehicles at a more stringent rate, support and incentivize the production of electrified products, and create regulatory certainty." BMW said "by setting these long-term, predictable, and achievable standards, we have the regulatory certainty that is necessary for long-term planning that will not only reduce greenhouse gas emissions but ultimately benefit consumers as well."

Forza Motorsport profiles courageous paralyzed racer

Fri, 08 Aug 2014

It's easy to look at racing video games as just a time waster or a hobby. In reality, though, they're often powerful tools for aspiring racers to learn tracks, race craft and how to set up a car in an easily accessible, risk-free environment. We aren't just talking about proper computer-based sims, like iRacing. Console-based racers like Forza Motorsport and Gran Turismo provide a test bed for racers of all sorts.
For Mario Bonfante, Jr., a former motorcycle racer that was involved in a brutal accident that left him in a wheelchair with only limited use of his arms, Forza is a bit more. It allows him to perfect the setup of his personal racecar, a heavily modified E46 BMW M3, complete with hand controls.
Check out Mario's inspiring story.
