Hello and up for auction is an extremely well kept 1998 BMW Z3 with the 2.8 Liter inline 6 cylinder engine. The color combination is a beautiful Silver Metallic over Black leather with a new black canvas top recently installed. The History on the Z3 is as good as can be found with no accidents or other negative comments and I have a copy of the Carfax I pulled just a few weeks ago. The car was originally leased in Georgia and was then purchased by the original owner who adored the Z and eventually passed it down to his son in law who I bought the car from. So basically the car has had only 2 owners and is fully serviced needing nothing. The body of the Z is in excellent condition as is the interior with no tears or stains anywhere and has never been eaten or smoked in. The tires ( all 4) are brand new Goodyear V rated sport tires and have 95% tread life left. This Z also has the sought after wide-body design only available in 97-98 and the 98 is the one to have with the roll bars coming out that year. This Z also has the rare 17" sport package 5 star wheel which really makes the Z stand out from the rest of the crowd with a much sportier look. The Mileage is very low for the year and is currently right at 60,300 and drives very tight. The Z starts right up every time and has no issues what so ever. There are no service lights on and as stated earlier everything works great from the AC to the Cruise Control. I work for BMW and all my friends are Master BMW technicians so I tend to keep my cars in excellent shape. Please read my feedback from others who have bought Zs from me in the past as it is 100% and stellar. I know these Zs better than most and fix all the annoying things that most pass on like the seat checks that most sellers neglect to fix at $400 per seat. Please read below what has been completed below to ensure a quality Z for years to come.
Recent Servicing: Complete flush of all fluids and Filters, 4 brand new V rated Goodyear Sport tires, Brand New Black Canvas Top, Both Seat Checks Replaced, Brakes Flushed and Serviced, 60K Mile service completed. I have all BMW receipts to show and give buyer. Options: Premium Package with real leather, Cruise Control, On Board Computer, 6 Disc Changer, Power Top, 17" Wheels $1k Option, Silver Metallic Paint...... These Zs are getting very hard to find with low mileage and the value is holding strong which makes these roadsters worth enjoying for years to come. I have watched the Value of these cars climb now for 7 years. Name another car that gives you this kind of driving experience and look for the Money. Exactly and they are very dependable as well with the best motor BMW ever made, the inline 6........Good luck and I have the clean title in hand and this is a private sell. I am more than happy to meet your transporter or pick you up from the airport. Thanks and good luck because they do not come around in this condition and mileage often!!! |

Cars we're thankful we drove in 2019
Thu, Nov 28 2019We drove a lot of cars in 2019, and there's still a month to go. We drove them in our home office in Michigan, at our remote offices in Seattle, Portland, Ore., and Columbus, Ohio, and throughout the globe on myriad press launches. We could count them, but hey, that seems boastful. Instead, we want to be thankful. Not only for the opportunity to do this wonderful task some might describe as a "job," but for the new, shiny cars that brighten our days (and most hopefully yours). We asked our fellow editors which car they were most thankful to drive in 2019 ... here are our answers. 2019 Hyundai Veloster N Performance Senior Editor Alex Kierstein Every once in a while a car comes along that changes the narrative on a company or its segment, and everyone scrambles to experience it for themselves. This year, for me, that car’s the Veloster N Performance, perhaps the most transformative car the companyÂ’s ever built. Everyone whoÂ’s driven it, here and elsewhere, says it captures all those intangibles that make great driving hatchbacks great. And IÂ’m thankful that I got a go in it before all of them left the fleet, because it does. It upends the segment long dominated by the GTI, a car that nails its brief. The N is rowdy and loud, sure, but it also has some of the most deftly tuned suspension IÂ’ve come across in a front driver. My advice: if youÂ’re in the market for something fun and unique, go test drive a Veloster N. I think youÂ’ll be thankful you did. 2019 Hyundai Veloster N View 47 Photos 2019 Audi E-Tron Senior Editor, Green, John Beltz Snyder IÂ’m pleased that I got to drive the Audi E-Tron. ThatÂ’s high praise for a year in which I also drove the stellar Jaguar I-Pace. The E-Tron, while not as sporty as the Jaguar, is excellently executed, and feels like a more refined, polished offering. ItÂ’s quick, whisper-quiet, comfortable, stylish inside and out, and incredibly sturdy. Some may lament that it doesnÂ’t do much to stand out from ICE vehicles, but I donÂ’t think it needs to. What it does need to do is win over the electro-skeptical, and I think Audi put its best foot forward with a crossover that can do just that, and more. So, yeah, not only am I thankful that I got to drive it, IÂ’m glad that itÂ’s compelling enough that itÂ’ll hopefully make potential customers feel the same. 2020 Audi E-Tron View 13 Photos 2013 Peugeot 508 West Coast Editor James Riswick My choice totally sucks.
Car Hacking 101: Here's what motorists should know [w/video]
Tue, Feb 24 2015Cars are nothing more than computers on wheels. As such, they're vulnerable to hackers. Most people who work within the auto industry have understood this for years, but for the broader American public not paying as close attention, three storylines emerged recently that underscored this new vehicular reality. First, German researchers found a flaw in BMWs remote-services system that allowed them to access the telematics units in vehicles. Then, a 60 Minutes report demonstrated that researchers could remotely infiltrate a Chevy Impala and override critical functions, like acceleration and braking. Finally, a US Senator released a critical report (see video above) that found almost all automakers are unprepared to handle real-time hacks of their vehicles. Those reports come on the heels of two previous instances in recent months when researchers demonstrated the capability to hack cars. All this news can be disconcerting. If you're late to the concept of car-hacking and wondering how this is possible, we've got you covered. Here's your quick primer on what you need to know. 1. How Did My Car Become A Computer? On the outside, cars haven't changed all that much over the past couple of decades years. On the inside, however, the amount of electronics and software has dramatically increased. Most new cars contain more than 50 microprocessors known as electronic control units. These ECUs control everything from airbag deployment and navigation systems to throttle control and braking, and they're usually connected to each other on an internal network called the CAN bus. 2. What Exactly Is Car Hacking? Depends who you ask. Automakers might consider anything that alters the car from its state of manufacture as a 'hack.' For example, if you're chipping the engine – re-calibrating those ECUs to increase your horsepower – some people might consider that a hack. But in the context of the recent news reports, security experts are focused on unwanted, unauthorized cyber intrusions into a vehicle. Once inside your car, prospective attacks could range from minor things like eavesdropping on conversations via an infotainment system and unlocking car doors to major concerns, like overriding driver inputs and controlling braking, steering and acceleration. 3. How Is This All Possible? Any part of the car that communicates with the outside world, either via a remote or direct connection, is a potential entry point for hackers.
Playboy reveals its 2013 Cars of the Year
Thu, 20 Dec 2012Vaunted men's magazine Playboy knows that its readers are nearly as interested in cars as they are in the female anatomy... sorry, we thought we could write that with a straight face. Anyway, the buff-book does occasionally fill some of its spreads with sexy metal, to accent all the rest of the sexiness.
To wit, the magazine has unveiled its feature on the 2013 Cars of the Year. Without giving us much in the way of criteria for the awards, nor a clear framing of the categories ("Responsible Ride" is a particularly challenging concept, especially when you consider that the Mazdaspeed3 was the winner), Playboy has nevertheless highlighted what we assume to be it's favorite 12 or 13 (depending on how you count) cars from the 2013 model year.
Headlining the class is the Porsche 911, which Playboy writers single out for having "remarkable electronic voodoo." BMW M5 is named "Slickest Sports Sedan" though the Cadillac ATS then follows on because "we couldn't resist giving the new Caddy a shout-out." The rest of the picks are pretty conventional (save, perhaps, the Honda Fit EV as "Ace Electric"), even if the categories and methodology are fairly wonky. Cruise through or gallery for a taste or check out the full list, here. The site is safe for work, and you can legitimately (this time) say that you were reading it for the articles.
