2001 Bmw Z3 Coupe 2-door 3.0l on 2040-cars
Oakland, New Jersey, United States
Car is in collector-new condition with only 44,000 miles and has been consistently garaged, never driven in the snow, and seldom if ever driven in the rain. Rims are new ASA and the tires are new Goodyears, both mounted at the same time and have about 300 miles on them. Car has been faithfully serviced by both Prestige BMW in Ramsey, NJ, and Motorwerks West, a BMW shop that only servicesn BMWs. There is a slight ding on the bottom of the front air dam, but it's hard to see. The BMW Z3 coupe was launched in 1997 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Burkhard Goeschel, the engineer responsible for the development of the coupe, built the car with torsional and structural rigidity in mind. This example has a clean CarFax report (available at no charge) and approximately 44K miles. This distinct and extinct model has the proven BMW combination of performance and looks. The car comes with electric windows, power steering, alloy wheels, and anti-lock brakes. This three-door coupe can seat two passengers and has a rear-wheel drive, with a front-engine. The interior of the car is very comfortable, appears showroom new, and the analog gauges and dials on the dashboard are easily readable. The boot space is spacious with plenty of legroom for passenger and driver. Efficient suspensions make for a smooth ride even on rough terrain. The car's 193 horsepower, 2.8 liter, six-cylinder engine,
propels the car from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 6.1 seconds. The car has a
curb weight of 2978 pounds and sports a 2793cc displacement engine, churning
out a power of 193 bhp @ 5500 rpm, to offer a top speed of 133 miles per hour (mph).
When the brakes are depressed, the car can come to a stand-still from 70 mph in
151 feet. The Z3 Coupe has a 5-speed manual transmission. The vehicle
incorporates a Double Overhead Camshaft (DOHC) engine, which implies that the
internal combustion engine has separate camshafts for the inlet and the exhaust
valves. The engine has a 24-valve, 6-in-line aluminum block and head structure
with port fuel injection.
The Z3 Coupe can adapt easily to city driving as well as
long distance traveling. It is also the winner of numerous awards, including
Car & Driver Magazine's Ten Best List for the 2000 model year. This is a private owner car and we would welcome your questions, either via email or telephone.

LA Design Challenge invokes biology for 2025 concepts [w/poll]
Wed, 13 Nov 2013Participants in the annual LA Design Challenge always manage to come up with edgy, wacky designs for future vehicles, but with a theme of "Biomimicry and Mobility: 2025" this year's crop of cars might be the quirkiest we've ever seen. As usual, automotive designers from around the world participated in this year's competition, and all the designs will all be unveiled next week during the LA Auto Show with a winner being announced on November 21.
Chinese automakers made a strong showing with Qoros, SAIC Motor, JAC Motors (the company responsible for the Ford F-150 clone) and Changfeng all bringing interesting takes on the biology, human intelligence and sustainability theme. One of the more innovative ideas among these automakers is the Qoros Silk Road System allows autonomous vehicles to drive in packs similar to how ants travel. Speaking of ants, the SAIC Motor Mobiliant (shown above) gets its design from the shape of an ant's body, and, like the insect, it can climb building acting as a personal elevator as well. The JAC Motors design also merges vehicle and building design, while the Changfeng LaBrea inspired by the design of muscle fibers.
Other entrants include Subaru and US-based design teams for BMW, Toyota and Mazda. BMW's duo of concepts mimic plant and animal life. The LA Subways concept acts as a submersible, single-person vehicle to take advantage of the LA river, with a shape similar to an Ocean Sunfish. The Sustainable Efficient Exploratory Device (SEED) imitates the shape of a seed pod, and uses propulsion methods inspired by a shark, dragonfly and a water bug. Mazda's Auto Adapt might be the most car-like concept of the bunch, while the Subaru Suba-Roo and the Calty-designed, Toyota e-grus are the most mind-blowingly awesome.
BMW reclaims US luxury sales crown from Mercedes
Tue, Jan 6 2015The numbers, they are in: BMW has reclaimed the luxury-sales crown from Mercedes by a margin of 9,347 cars. Mercedes donned the king's headgear in 2013 after a strong final quarter of 2013 when the new CLA and S-Class poured out of dealerships. This year, led by the 3 Series/4 Series and X5, BMW sold 339,738 units – a 9.8-percent increase year-on-year. Mercedes, led by the C-Class and M-Class, saw its sales go up by 5.7 percent to 330,391 units. We'll have to wait a bit to see if there's another registrations-vs-sales challenge as in 2012, when BMW was anointed US luxury ruler. Behind them, a dark horse named Lexus nudged closer to the leading Teutons, selling 311,389 cars. The Japanese luxury automaker also had the biggest gain among the top three, its sales rising by 13.7 percent compared to 2013. Audi had the biggest sales of anyone among the top five, though, with a 15.2-percent gain to 182,011, which moved it a spot ahead of Cadillac; the Wreath-and-Crest brand dropped 6.5 percent to 170,750. Acura (167,843), Infiniti (117,300), and Lincoln (94,474) took the final positions. Speaking of Lincoln, sales at the once-mighty luxury marque stand as the mightiest jump of any on this list, up 15.6 percent. That's the power of Matthew McConaughey... and better cars and a new crossover, sure. So now that we're back to Round One of 2015, in case no one else has said it yet: "Ok, fight!"
Forget about greenlighting it, BMW is already testing the M2
Thu, 08 May 2014One week ago, we reported, with some skepticism, that BMW had greenlit a car we've been waiting for since the 1 Series M Coupe was discontinued - the M2. Now, we have the first images of that new hotshot underoing testing in Germany.
What's our reasoning here? After all, this just looks like an M235i. Well, that camo is disguising swollen fenders designed to conceal wider tires. Now, these aren't production changes, and it's very likely that the eventual M2's fenders will look quite a bit different. According to our spy, the front fenders have been borrowed from the M235i Racing, while the rears are from an unknown source.
Our spies are also quick to point out a few other high-performance items on this mule. The cross-drilled brakes and blue M calipers are one such item, although we aren't sure how much they differ from the optional stoppers on the production M235i. The black wheels are borrowed from the M3 and M4, and are shod in what look like a sticky set of Michelin tires.
