I just replaced the water pump, thermostat, and the belt tensioner due to the millage, not a failure or overheat condition. I am the second owner of this car, and have all the service records from day one. In the last year all fluids have been changed, new battery, and control arm bushings replaced. Car was just state inspected and has been aligned. Car fax is clean. Tires have 70 percent tread remaining. Garage kept since day one, I personally knew the previous owner and they also kept it garaged. This is a sports package model and has the upgraded 16" wheels, sports seats, steering wheel and shifter. There are no mechanical issues, everything works perfectly! Kelly blue book has this car valued at $14,900.00 due to its clean condition and low mileage. I am selling it on the low spectrum to move it fast and get a car with 4 doors. BMW i8 Concours d'Elegance Edition is so cool it's Frozen
Fri, 15 Aug 2014The new, one-of-a-kind BMW i8 Concours d'Elegance Edition made a ritzy debut last night at BMW's private villa, giving the media its first chance to look at the ultra-exclusive hybrid.
As we said in our previous post, the most notable feature of the Concours d'Elegance i8 is its matte grey paint, known as Frozen Grey Metallic in BMW parlance. This isn't the first time we've seen this shade on an exclusive BMW, as it was last used for the Frozen Grey M3 from 2010.
Contrasting quite nicely with the i8's flat paint are its blue and white accents, and its Dalbergia Brown leather upholstery. Blue contrast stitching complements the interior aesthetic, as do the embossed BMW roundels in the headrests.
BMW and Samsung enter expanded battery agreement [w/video]
Fri, Jul 18 2014What's good for the goose is good for the gander. In this case, the goose is BMW and the gander is Samsung. And their five-year plan has worked out well. The German automaker this week expanded its current agreement with the South Korean battery-making giant. BMW and Samsung SDI reached a memorandum of understanding for Samsung to keep making batteries for BMW's growing stable of i3 battery-electric and i8 plug-in hybrids as well as yet-to-be revealed hybrid models. No dollar amount or new time frame was revealed, but with BMW already moving about 5,400 i3 vehicles during the first six months of the year, there should be a substantial amount of funds changing hands. BMW started working with Samsung in 2009 when it began buying batteries for its Megacity electric vehicle from SB LiMotive, a 50-50 joint-venture between Samsung SDI and Bosch. Things have been looking up for Samsung since last August, when Tesla Motors decided to diversify its battery supply chain by branching out beyond Panasonic and buying some of its lithium-ion batteries from Samsung. BMW i8 added to exotic Dubai police fleet
Thu, Mar 12 2015Apparently the Dubai Police is ready to start expanding its vast collection of exotic cars yet again. After taking a little while off from new purchases, the cops there recently added a Lexus RC F to the stable, and now the force has gone green – well, kind of. The latest high-performance vehicle to wear the green and white livery is a BMW i8. While the video above isn't in English, the clip is self-explanatory by showing off officials getting out of the high-performance hybrid coupe and taking a walk around it. With a total output of a mere 357 horsepower, the i8 is practically the economy entry in the Dubai Police fleet that includes a Bugatti Veyron and McLaren MP4-12C.
