I have a BMW Z3 thats wanting a new home. I love the car, but it is a constant struggle between me and my two teenage boys who are dying to drive it. Time to sell before they can. It is 13 years old, so there're little tidbits that are wrong with it. The doors unlock, but you have to turn the key a hundred times to get it to work. I use the trunk lock as it locks and unlocks the doors when you lock or unlock the trunk. The driver seat is a little worn, but it is not ripped. There is a ding on the trunk lid. The center console speaker is going out. There are minor interior deficiencies, but WELL within the criteria for a 13 year old car. The oil level light comes on, then goes off, so I bought a sensor to fix the problem, see below.
Now the good news:
It has the following recently installed: Windshield (wasnt broken, just pitted), alternator and battery, slot and drilled rotors and brake set on front and back, new guibo (that is the european version of a universal joint, services are up to date with only synthetic oils, and the rear shocks have been replaced. The dreaded valve cover leak that is common for these cars has been fixed, tires are about 70% if not more, A/C is cold, and all filters have been changed (including fuel). This car looks great, drives great and wherever you go, I promise, someone will tell you how cool your car looks. The paint is red, but with a hint of orange and for some reason (which really baffeled but surprised me gleefully) people comment on it all the time.
Parts come with this car as well: Input and output exhaust sensors, oil level sensor, front struts, front and rear wheel bearings, carrier bearing, assorted interior buttons, logo's, and BMW service reset tool. Besides the Oil Level sensor, none of these parts are bad, I just started collecting parts the internet said was common to go out. So you get a head start on any parts. The car also comes with a cover for when the top is retracted.
I am selling this car with NO WARRANTY implied or suggested, is sold (as is) and being sold locally (I reserve to end the auction early unless the buy it now has been used). I try my best to be as honest and upfront with my auctions and I appreciate you doing the same. Ask any question and I will tell you everything you need. This car has ZERO rust!! This IS a southern car.
I will help in the delivery up to 50 miles or to the knoxville, tn station where a pick-up for delivery can occur. Or if you want it picked up at my home I will help in that to. If you are local, feel free to come by and drive the car to see how amazing and happy you'll be. Thank You and happy bidding!
Also: I am selling this car WELL BELOW what its worth. I have a home project that I want to start and I cant do that until this is sold.

Next-gen BMW 7 Series options include 'Sky Lounge' roof, leather engine cover
Sun, Jan 4 2015When it comes to luxury and technology, the theme of the next-generation BMW 7 Series appears to be 'everything, everywhere.' Two of the new options joining what will be an extensive list are the Sky Lounge panoramic glass roof, said to be a nod going all the way back to the Concept 5 Series Gran Turismo showed off at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show. That is clearly about the light, but what about the leather? That's going to cover everything it seems, should the buyer choose. Auto Evolution says it's been told about a 3CM option code, which equates to a Leather Engine Cover. If it's offered, though, it won't be the first time BMW has done it, of a sort: the $10,800 Pure Impulse package on the BMW i8 wraps the engine cover in leather, but in the i8 the engine is in the rear, under the trunk floor, so we're really talking about a leather-floored cargo bay. No one knows yet what it would look like atop a conventional engine, and no one appears to have any clue, frankly, as to why it's even an option. The 7 Series will pack a bunch more besides within its new aluminum and carbon fibre platform and redrawn bodywork, the sedan is reportedly targeting a curb weight that's less than the current 5 Series. There'll be four sculpted seats in the cabin, with rear seats apparently offering the range of options available on the front seats, a redesigned iDrive system with a touchscreen LCD that reads gestures, wireless smartphone charging, Bowers & Wilkins audio instead of Harman Kardon, heads-up data sharing between passenger and driver via swipes, laser headlights and an i8-like key fob with limited self-parking functions. That's a serious goody bag of tech, which we expect to get our hands in at the Frankfurt Motor Show. BMW already considering four cylinders for next M3
Tue, 13 May 2014The cylinder count in BMW's M3 has fluctuated over the years. The original M3 debuted in 1985 packing a 2.3-liter inline-four, but subsequent models went with sixes until the outgoing generation upped the cylinder count to eight. With its latest model, BMW has dropped back to six cylinders with a pair of turbos taking the place of the extra pistons. But the next M3 sedan and M4 coupe could go back to the model line's roots with a four-cylinder engine.
Speaking with BMW M product manager Carsten Pries at the launch of the latest M3 and M4 in Portugal, our Aussie compatriots at Motoring.com.au report that "you could see a future [M3] powered by a four-cylinder engine." Offsetting the reduction in cylinders, the lighter engine would benefit the vehicle's weight and balance, thus enhancing performance.
We wouldn't expect the next M3 and M4 to lose any power in the process, though: Output in the M3 has only risen over the generations, from 192 horsepower in the four-pot original to 282 hp in the six-cylinder E36, 338 hp in the six-cylinder E46, 414 hp in the V8 E90 and 425 ponies in the new turbocharged six-cylinder F80 model. With that latter model having just debuted, it'll likely be a good six or seven years before the next version comes along, giving BMW plenty of time to settle on an engine - however many cylinders and turbochargers it has. In the meantime, you'll have to forgive us for taking a romp down M3 memory lane in the fresh gallery of images above.
BMW ups i3 production to 100 units a day to meet demand
Wed, Apr 23 2014To reverse the old Field of Dreams quote, they are coming, so BMW is building them. All indications are that US demand for the BMW i3 plug-in will be larger than initially expected. As a result, the automaker is upping production at its German factor by more than 50 percent in advance of stateside sales, Automotive News says, citing BMW boardmember Harald Krueger. BMW has started making about 100 i3s a day, up from its previous daily rate of about 70 units. So far, BMW, which is expected to begin sales of the i3 in the US later this month, has made about 5,000 i3s. BMW spokesman Dave Buchko confirmed in an e-mail to AutoblogGreen that the company was boosting production of the i3 based not only on US demand but on worldwide demand, but he declined to be specific about BMW's new production rate. BMW started selling the i3 in Europe in November and had racked up a six-month waiting list by early February. Last month, Norbert Reithofer, chairman of the board of management for BMW, estimated that the company would be making a cool 100,000 i3s a year by the end of the decade, and that the global automotive market would support that production level. Check out our First Drive of the i3 here.
