2000 Bmw Z3 M Coupe Coupe 2-door 3.2l Rare Manual Clean on 2040-cars
Portland, Oregon, United States
For sale is my 2000 Z3 M Coupe. The rare Esteroil Blue on Dark Oregon Beige car is in excellent condition with a clean Oregon title and has been very well maintained with only 73k miles. Of the entire production range that stretched from 1998-2002, only 62 M Coupes were made in this color combination with only 26 being made in 2000. While this is a collector car and one that is on the rise in value, it is still a very comfortable and very capable car for the everyday driver. To add to this driving experience, mine has been outfitted with Dinan sway bars (front and rear), a JB Racing Aluminum Flywheel, and PowerFlex control arm bushings as well as rear beam bushings. A brand new OEM Sachs clutch kit and new transmission fluid was also installed at the time the aluminum flywheel was. That was roughly 15k miles ago. Those and the Alpine stereo aside, the car is in original shape with heated seats, power everything, sunroof and good condition Bridestone Potenza Pole Position RE960 tires.
My reason for sale is a growing family. Please contact me via email with any questions or inquires. Additional photos and/or video can be taken upon request and the car is available to be shown at any time. The vehicle is sold As-Is. I require a $500 deposit via PayPal within 24 hours of the close of the auction and payment in full no more than 7 days after. Failure to submit payment in full after 7 days of the close of the auction will result in a forfeit of the $500 deposit. Transport of the vehicle to your location outside of Portland, Oregon is your responsibility. I am happy to assist with transportation from the local airport, train or bus station to the vehicle if you are to come to town. |

BMW looking to fix i3 acceleration problem uncovered by Consumer Reports
Fri, 10 Oct 2014The BMW i3 has been hailed in some quarters as the future of electric mobility, what with its innovative carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic body and commitment to sustainable materials wherever possible. The modernist little hatch is even available with a 650cc two-cylinder gas engine with 34 horsepower to act as a range-extender for those who want it. However, that optional engine might have a drawback - at least for the moment.
Consumer Reports brought the problem to light when one of its drivers was behind the wheel of an i3 using the range-extender. When the driver attempted to pass another vehicle on a rolling, two-lane road, the BMW suddenly had no power to accelerate - a scary situation. CR started examining the car and found something pretty shocking: After driving at a constant speed for a while without any regenerative braking in range-extended mode, acceleration to 60 miles per hour plummeted from about 9 seconds normally to a staggering 27 to 40 seconds in their testing.
A BMW spokesperson told CR that it knows about the problem and has a fix coming next spring that also works on current models. The upgrade includes a state of charge indicator, a warning about loss of power and uses the car's navigation to boost the battery before driving on rolling terrain. It is not clear if the severe power deficiency will also eventually result in a recall.
2018 Range Rover Sport Coupe spied in Scotland
Wed, Jun 8 2016Sport utility vehicles are the rage. SUVs with coupe styling are pretty popular, too, as BMW and Mercedes have demonstrated. Now it's Land Rover's turn. Believed to be the upcoming Range Rover Sport Coupe, this ute was spied this week during top secret testing at a remote location in Scotland. The vehicle would slot between the Range Rover Sport and Evoque, giving Land Rover an answer to the Mercedes GLE and BMW X6. These shots show what appears to be a chopped roofline, giving the new model a sportier profile than the traditional upright silhouette of Rovers. We expect it will use a version of the aluminum Jaguar F-Pace platform and offer V6 and V8 engines. It could also offer a hybrid or full electric version. The new crossover might also be lower set in a bid to differentiate it from traditional Rovers and give it a performance vibe. The Range Rover Sport Coupe – or whatever it is ultimately called – would enter a strong segment that's found favor in the United States. Once derided for potentially offering less function than traditional utes, these lifestyle vehicles have developed a strong following for their style and capability. The X6 was so successful, BMW added the smaller X4, and this forced Mercedes to follow suit with the GLE and GLC coupe variants. In this context, it's about time for Land Rover to join the fray. BMW sets Guinness record for longest drift with new M5 [w/video]
Wed, 15 May 2013In September of 2011, Chinese drifter Wang Qi broke the Guinness record for the world's longest sustained drift, doing 13 laps inside the Olympic Center Stadium in Tianlin, China for 5,802.3 meters. That was broken in February of this year by Abdo Feghali in Abu Dhabi drifting a new Chevrolet Camaro around a skidpad for 11,180 meters - almost seven miles. In March, BMW decided it wanted the record "back in the US," and set up a course at its BMW Performance Driving School near Greenville, South Carolina to get the job done. On May, 11 it was Mission Accomplished when Performance Center driver Johan Schwartz drifted an M5 around a skidpad continuously for 51.3 miles.
Despite that accomplishment, we're pretty sure that professional drifter Vaughn Gittin, Jr. isn't impressed. The way Guinness defines "drifting" can also describe a donut, which is effectively the kind of drifting that's been done for these last three records. BMW went even further by watering down the surface of the track, reducing the skill required and the need to change tires during the effort. On the other hand, you can't drift a car for long in a straight line, but perhaps there should be some clarification or classifications added to the milestones.
There's a short video below taken during the record-breaking run, and a press release from the company that did it.
