You are bidding on a 1999 BMW Z-3 Coupe in excellent condition. I purchased this vehicle in Boston many years ago. I am the third owner. According to Wikipedia, there were less than 900 "Z-3 Coupes" produced. This car was produced at BMW, AG, Munich, Germany and assembled in Spartanburg, South Carolina. There are 68,696 original miles. The entire car is original with the exception of a K&N air filter and the windshield. I purchased it with a chip in the windshield in the driver's view and had it replaced. All service work and maintenance has been done at Capital Cities BMW in Glenmont, NY. Belts, brakes, spark plugs and filters are new. Tires are like new. There is no damage any where with the exception of 3/4 inch scratch under the lower right side of the front spoiler. Always garaged and covered when not in use. Never operated in winter conditions.
The interior is in excellent condition. There is some wrinkling in the leather of the driver's seat. No tears, worn areas, fading or damage. All electronics work properly, including seats (adjustment and heat), A/C, defrosters, sun roof, trip, outside temp and on-board computer. Custom floor mats from Bavarian Sports. Tool and engine compartments are flawless.
The engine is 2.8 L (M52TU B28) with 206 lb-ft and 193 hp. Requires premium fuel.
Included with the car is the BMW Shop Manual (1,021 pages), BMW OEM Arctic Silver touch up kit and the PEAKE R5/FCX-3 Diagnostic Coding/Reset Tool. Currently registered, inspected and insured for New York State.
I would be happy to answer any questions. Winning bidder will not be disappointed.

2014 BMW Z4 offers minor refinements with a majorly orange wrapper
Mon, 14 Jan 2013The redesigned BMW Z4 was rolled out onto the show floor at the Detroit Auto Show, with the example in question being an sDrive35is variant, with the just-less-than-screaming Hyper Orange Package. The exclusive colorway includes the metallic orange paintjob, as well as trim-specific seats, stitching and accents for the interior. More importantly, the 35is driveline means that you'll find a high-output version of the turbocharged 3.0-liter N54 engine, here outputting 335 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque, and a 7-speed DCT gearbox.
Two slightly less ferociously powered versions of the Z4 will be available for the new model year, too (both familiar). The Z4 sDrive35i is good for 300 hp and 300 lb-ft, while the still-potent sDrive28i features a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder making 240 hp and 260 lb-ft.
You'll fine some more details about the 2014 BMW Z4 in our original news story about the model here, or by scrolling down to read the full BMW press release.
BMW Films are on the way back [w/videos]
Mon, 17 Feb 2014The BMW Films series caused a stir in 2001 and 2002 by combining top-quality cinematography, Hollywood names and driving excitement to sell its sporty wares in a whole new way. By arriving five years before YouTube, they ranked as some of the earliest viral videos on the internet. By now, these sorts of films are almost commonplace, but back when BMW hit upon the idea, the idea of brand-integrated short films on the internet was still a novelty. Now, for the first time in over a decade, the German automaker is planning on bringing back BMW Films for a new season.
Trudy Hardy, BMW North America Vice President of Marketing, announced the series' return at the 2014 Automotive News World Congress in Detroit, according to Ad Age. However, neither the German brand nor Anonymous Content, the original production company, have been willing to comment further on when the new videos are coming.
The original series of eight films starred Clive Owen as the Driver (back then, Owen was largely unknown to American audiences), a mercenary who would take a variety of jobs and always drive a BMW. David Fincher executive produced the first season and directors included top names like John Frankenheimer, Ang Lee and Guy Ritchie. All of the second season movies had Owen driving a Z4, but in our estimation, the quality had fallen off a bit compared to the outstanding first season.
Company car offers in decline, but not at The Cheesecake Factory [w/poll]
Sat, 22 Jun 2013As businesses look to keep high-level employees happy, it seems that use of company cars can still be an effective method, although fewer companies are employing it. According to Businessweek, only about 25 percent of companies offer company vehicles as a perk, while less than half give allowances for employees to use their personal vehicles for work purposes.
The report says that one business still in the practice of handing out company cars is The Cheesecake Factory, which offers the benefit to top managers. And we're not talking about some econobox, either. The article indicates the restaurant chain hands out BMWs on a three-year basis - although the company's own report says that the type of vehicle "varies with the executive's level."
Still, we mostly agree with the article's conclusion that money is the best way to keep employees or attract new ones, even if a corporate car is a big perk. What do you think? Let us know, in the poll below, whether a company car could sway you to work for a certain company (not just the Cheesecake factory, where the "Glamburgers" portion of the menu alone is enough to keep a guy hanging around).
