Pride of Ownership: I am the original owner of this awesome BMW X6 XDrive 35i. The Oyster Leather Interior is in mint condition as is the Dark Bamboo Wood Trim. I have custom BMW hard plastic floor mats thru ought the vehicle installed Day 1 and a brand new BMW X6 Car Cover. I special ordered this car and designed the packages in late 2009. I took possession in January 2010. I just put brand new tires on the car in November 2012. All preventative maintenance has been strictly followed at both Brecht BMW and BMW of Encinitas. This vehicle has had no accidents.

About the Owner: 35 Year Old Male. Commercial Real Estate Broker. I chose this BMW model for three reasons. 1.) I wanted a comfortable car for work and touring clients 2.) I wanted a car that could get around the ski slope if I chose to go to Mammoth or Car Camping 3.) I wanted a car with better gas mileage than a SUV without giving up storage space. I believe you get what you pay for in life and I am extremely happy with this vehicle and am extremely upset to have to sell it and drive a LR4 because my personal life has changed.
I want the new owner to know this car comes from a loving home.

Condition:The car is in excellent condition on the interior and good condition on the exterior. I have never had a problem with this car, ever.  There is a 1.5 inch scrape on the front left tire area at shin level, it is cosmetic. The irony is the scrape showed when I received the after being detailed. It was not there prior. Some scrapes on the wheel wells from curbs and pin size pebble scratches from typical highway use. All issues are documented in the photos. The car has had all its normal scheduled maintenance from BMW Certified Dealerships. Brand New Tires and Breaks. I purchased the car at Brecht BMW in Escondido, CA. The car has BMW Assist. While under warranty you only pay for new Tires. Everything else including oil changes are free. 4 Years or 50,000 mile warranty.

Location: I live in Rancho Santa Fe, CA (92067)

Purchase and Sale: I have a loan on the vehicle thru BMW NA and will have to pay the loan off before title can transfer. So I suggest a escrow account be set up with mutual benefiting closing instructions. I am open to other avenues of execution and transferring title.

What happens when you take an engineer sliding in a BMW i8

Fri, Sep 19 2014

The BMW i8 is a pretty impressive car, and a highly visible one at that. It's a great brand ambassador, but not just for BMW. It's really no surprise that Formula E chose it as the safety car from the electric racing series. And, for its duties at tracks around the word, the i8 safety car got some slick upgrades, including wireless charging capabilities courtesy of Qualcomm. It's not your regular, cut-and-dry technology presentation. In the video below, Qualcomm engineers explain a little bit about what they do to enhance electric vehicles. But it's not your regular, cut-and-dry technology presentation. The engineers are forced to answer questions about Qualcomm's technology while riding along in the BMW i8 Qualcomm Safety Car driven by none other than Formula E driver Nelson Piquet, Jr. Sure, riding shotgun for hot laps at Donnington Park in an i8 sounds like a lot of fun, but these guys have a job to do, and Mr. Piquet isn't making it easy for them. The Qualcomm guys talk about taking technology and beefing it up for automotive use, explain the benefits of wireless charging and discuss some other stuff that's hard to pay attention to while watching the i8 get totally sideways in a smoky powerslide. See for yourself in the video below. If you miss something, don't worry; Qualcomm provides more explanation about its automotive technologies at its website, including safety, communication and, of course, inductive charging.

BMW recalling a grand total of three X3s over instrument panel defect

Wed, 18 Dec 2013

We've seen big recalls and we've seen small ones. Some involve millions of vehicles, and some - like the Infiniti Q50 recall on which we reported just the other day - involve just a couple dozen. But this has to be the smallest recall we've seen yet.
"Due to a production process error" in the BMW X3, states the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in the notice below, "the team seam on the instrument panel was not manufactured correctly." Big friggin' whoop, you say? Well, NHTSA points out that it could hinder the deployment of the airbag and send fractures flying everywhere.
The problem was discovered in a select few examples of the 2013 BMW X3 - both xDrive 28i and 35i models - manufactured in the later part of February this year. And by "select few," we literally mean a few - as in three. Three examples are being recalled. If you happen to be one of those three owners, expect to hear from your local dealership.

BMW 6 Series Convertible gets a little work done for 2015

Sat, 02 Aug 2014

Truth be told, I've never really found the modern BMW 6 Series to be a particularly attractive car, in Coupe, Convertible, or sedan Gran Coupe forms. This current generation certainly looks a whole lot better than the Bangle-fied Six that came before it to my eyes, but on the whole, I find much of the car's design to be fussy and awkward. There's a new 6 Series on the way, scheduled to arrive sometime in 2017 or 2018, but to hold us over until then, BMW is freshening its current range, as evidenced by this convertible prototype our trusty spies recently caught testing.
Will the changes to the current 6 Series be an improvement? Perhaps. Up front, there are restyled headlamps and a new front bumper, and at the rear, BMW has redesigned the LED taillamps to bring them more in line with the rest of the company's offerings. Aside from those modest tweaks, we don't expect much more to change on the Big Six - the interior will likely carry over with some minor tweaks (or new colors), and it's possible the powertrains could be massaged gently for gains in either power, efficiency, or both.
Whether you think this new look is pretty or not, this freshened 6 Series will likely debut sometime next year, while BMW's engineers and designers craft the all-new version. See it from several angles in our gallery, above.
