I am selling my beloved BMW X5. I have been driving it since about November of last year. The car has 46000 miles on it and is a beaut. Always kept up on maintenance (Synthetic Oil Changes done every 5000 miles, not 15,000 like BMW recommends. New tires, new brakes, etc.) As far as damage goes, there isn't much on the car at 46,000 miles. However, the very few times my mother drove the car, she got a little too close to some curbs. There is a bit of curb rash on the rims but it isn't noticeable. Even if you wanted to touch them up, cost-wise, it would not be a big deal.
Here are some highlights:
4.8 V8 engine as opposed to your standard 3.0 V6 - This has a crazy amount of power
Sport Package with anthracite headliner on the inside, shadowline exterior trim, Big oversized 21" rims, running boards, rear spoiler on the trunk lid, Roof Rails, Fog lamps, Sport steering wheel, and a sport tuned suspension complete with Active Roll Stability (a wonderful feature, levels the car as you make turns)
Panorama Sun roof - This thing is huge and actually opens all the way - I will miss this sorely on Summer days.
Adaptive headlights and cornering lights - The headlights physically move with you as turn the steering wheel in order to provide the best visibility. The fog lamps also double as cornering lights that light the path you are turning on.
Technology package - Navigation, six disc DVD changer, bluetooth, BMW assist, etc.
Parking sensors and Rear View Camera
Tiptronic transmission
Quad Zone Heat and A/C Control
Power lift gate trunk
Keyless entry and keyless go
100% Mechanically Sound
Great Condition cosmetically
I have One main key, one extra key blade (to lock/unlock doors), and the manual
Title is in hand and is an Illinois Original Clear Title. I purchased the vehicle from an auction in 2011. I have been the only owner since.
The car was purchased from IaaI. It was branded as a flood, however, no water got into the passenger cabin;only the engine. The car was a simple fix because it was fresh water and NOT salt water. The old owner must have driven into some water during a rainstorm. I can guarantee the car is in perfect working condition. I am an ASE certified mechanic and work on these cars all the time. I have also driven the car personally for almost two years. Again, the title is NOT Rebuilt, it is an Original Clear title. I can upload/send a picture of the upper half of the title (showing Original Clear and the VIN). If you have any questions, feel free to ask! 708-466-7164

Ward's reveals annual 10 Best Engines list for 2013
Thu, 13 Dec 2012Ward's Auto has released its annual 10 Best Engines award winners. The 2013 list covers the full width and breadth of the internal combustion spectrum, from a spate of efficient four-cylinders to the most powerful production V8 on the planet. As always, the entries must be available in a production vehicle in the first quarter of 2013 with an MSRP of less than $55,000. The supercharged 3.0-liter V6 from the Audi S5 held on for the fourth consecutive year, and BMW earned two spots on the list with its turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder and turbo 3.0-liter inline-six.
Ford pulled in two awards for its 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder and and the supercharged 5.8-liter V8 from the Shelby GT500. Honda matched BMW and Ford with two wins of its own. Wards awarded the 2.4-liter four-cylinder from the Honda Accord Sport as well as the 3.5-liter V6 from the Honda Accord. Chrysler, General Motors and Subaru each garnered a spot on the list as well for the 3.6-liter V6 in the Ram 1500, the turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder in the Cadillac ATS and the 2.0-liter four-cylinder the Subaru BRZ, respectively. You can read the full press release below for more information.
The best cars we drove this year
Tue, Dec 30 2014Six hundred and fifty. That's roughly how many cars pass through the hands of Autoblog editors every year, from the vehicles we test here at home, to the cars we drive on new product launches, testing roundups, long-term cars, and so on. Of course, our individual numbers vary due to several reasons, but at the end of the day, our team's repertoire of automotive experience is indeed vast. But let's be honest, some cars certainly stand out more than others. So as the year's about to turn, and as we're readying brand-new daily cat calendars for our cubicles, our editors are all taking time to reflect on the machinery that made this year so special, with one simple, open-ended question as the guide – a question that we're asked quite frequently, from friends, family, colleagues, and more. "What's the best car you drove this year?" Lamborghini Huracan When I review the list of everything I drove in 2014, picking an absolute favorite becomes almost impossible. I mean, how does one delineate between the joy offered by cars as different as the Alfa Romeo 4C, Volkswagen Golf R, Mercedes-AMG GT S and even the humble-yet-wonderful Chevy Colorado? Okay fine, I'll just pick the Lamborghini. I drove the Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 on a racetrack, in the mountains, and along southern coast of Spain. It felt like the king of the car jungle in all of those places, sucking the eyeballs of observers nearly out of their heads as it drove by, and almost melting my brain with its cocktail of speed and grip and intense communication. It feels a little easy to say that the one new supercar I drove this year was also my favorite, but the fact is that the Huracan is one of the finest cars I've driven during my career, let alone 2014. Judge me if you must. – Seyth Miersma Senior Editor Rolls-Royce Wraith There are a couple of ways to look at the question, "What's the best car you drove this year?" In terms of what was so good I'd go out and buy one tomorrow, that'd be my all-time sweetheart, the Volkswagen GTI. Or if I'm just talking about sheer cool-factor, maybe something like the Galpin GTR1, BMW i8, or Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG. But instead, I'm going to write about the sheer opulence of being the best of the best. The hand-crafted, holier-than-thou, shut-your-mouth-when-I'm-talking-to-you supremacy. I'm picking the Rolls-Royce Wraith. I drove the Wraith for a week in April, and was really, really impressed. This car does everything, perfectly.
Formula E gets wireless-charging BMW i8 safety car [w/video]
Tue, 26 Aug 2014Racing series typically select a safety car appropriate to the kinds of racecars for which they'll be setting the pace. So you might find a Mercedes SLS pacing a Formula One grand prix, for example, and you're more likely to find a BMW M4 on duty at a DTM race and a Chevy Camaro or SS on an oval speedway for a NASCAR or Indy race. It would only stand to reason, then, that the FIA Formula E Championship kicking off next month in Beijing would press a plug-in into service as its safety car. But the organizers didn't go for your run-of-the-mill Nissan Leaf or Toyota Prius.
No, the safety car for Formula E will be a BMW i8 specially modified for the occasion. As you can see from the video below, the hybrid sports car packs a full roll cage, racing buckets with harnesses, special communications systems and on-board fire extinguishers. But that's not all.
In partnership with technological partner Qualcomm, the Formula E support fleet - including two examples each of the i8 and i3 - will feature inductive charging. So while one is out on the track, or at least sitting at the end of the pit lane waiting to be deployed - the other will be charging wirelessly. The vehicles are still pending FIA approval, and only one has been outfitted with the Qualcomm Halo wireless charging system (with the others to be retrofitted later), but they were all on hand for the recent practice race at Donnington Park.
