We are pleased to present this absolutely incredible and very, very CLEAN BMW X5 3.0i. This particular example is crammed with options including Navigation, Panoramic Moonroof, Power Folding Rear Seat, Heated seats and steering wheel, and much more! The X5  has long been regarded as the ultimate SUV for luxury, handling charecteristics, and appearance, and this car is a perfect example of why that is. And now, we get to the most important part. This X5 is finished in the incredibly rare and nearly impossible to find Estoril Blue color. This color is typically only found on BMW Motorsport cars like the M3, and M5. According to the X5 catalog, this color was not even possible for the X5 3.0, so I'm not exactly certain how it ended up painted Estoril Blue from the factory, but it did, and here it is in all its bright-blue glory. This is an SUV that turns heads!

The interior of this X5 is in very, very good condition. It has black dakota leather  heated seats which are just beautiful. The leather is in fantastic condition, and is still soft enough to retain the "bunching" around the edges. The hand brake lever is leather-wrapped, as is the steering wheel. The car has the premium Harman/Kardon audio system which features 14 speakers, along with a CD Changer which holds 6 Discs.  The previous owner of this car was definitely a non-smoker. There is a cup holder that accommodates two beverages and two unused ash trays. This BMW has dual front airbags, as well as front side airbags. It also has HPS curtain airbags. The trunk is very large and in fantastic condition. The rubber all-weather floor mats are there. As mentioned above, it also has the wide-screen navigation system which works properly. It also has the huge panoramic moonroof which functions well. We have rebuilt the moonrof's mechanism with all new parts from BMW to ensure proper operation for years to come.

The exterior of this X5  is in stunning condition and has only a few dings and scratches. It is Estoril Blue in color which is a bright, bright blue color that looks incredible in direct sunlight. Seeing this color on an X5, especially a reliable and economical 3.0i is just incredibly unusual. I find myself in disbelief over the configuratin because it's simply not possible according to the BMW literature. The car has its original BMW alloy wheels which are in fantastic condition. The car has had only two owners since it was new, and seems to have been serviced exceptionally well. You'll notice in the photos of the car that the passenger side door mirror is black, and does not match the other mirror. Because of the rare paint color, we have to wait for the proper color to arrive at our dealership before we can paint that mirror to match the car. This will be completed in the next few days.

The tires are in great shape with  good tread life remaining. The tires are all matching Continentals. The brakes are in  good shape and the car stops as it should. The legendary BMW Inline 6 cylider engine runs flawlessly and is very smooth. The transmission also operates properly. The car has traction and stability control, along with x-drive all wheel drive, which make this a truly usable car in the winter. It's very smooth, while still shifting crisply. BMW reacquires original factory as classic center

BMW was barely two years old when it started manufacturing airplane engines in a factory on Moosacher Strasse in Munich. Two years after that, it sold the factory to Knorr-Bremse AG, a leading manufacturer of brakes for trains and commercial vehicles, and BMW moved into a new facility on Lerchenauer Strasse. There it expanded into the industrial giant we know today, building engines for cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats and planes. It's taken the better part of a century to get that original factory back, but that's exactly what BMW has done, reacquiring the expanded facility from Knorr-Bremse this month.
The factory on Moonsacher Strasse will now serve as the headquarters for BMW Group Classic, the division that handles archives and historical vehicles for BMW, Mini and Rolls-Royce. From there, just a stone's throw from corporate headquarters and its main plant (as well as BMW Welt and the BMW Museum), the classic division's operations will include a restoration workshop, vintage parts store, the company's archives, administration as well as a place to hold events. In addition, there will be an exhibition space for historical vehicles from the company's considerable collection.
At the heart of the new/old campus is the gatehouse, which is a protected heritage site and will serve as a gateway into the company's history. Read the full details in the press release below.

Dealers mobilize to protect their margins from automaker subscription services

Six individual auto brands — Lincoln, Cadillac, Porsche, Mercedes, BMW and Volvo — have established or are trialing a vehicle subscription service in the U.S. Three third-party companies — Flexdrive, Clutch and Carma — run brand-agnostic subscription services. And three automakers — Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and General Motors — have also launched short-term rental services. Dealers, afraid of how these trends might affect their margins, are building political and lawmaking campaigns to protect their revenue streams. So far, three states are investigating automaker subscriptions, and Indiana has banned any such service until next year. It's certain that those three states are the first fronts in a long political and legal battle. Powerful dealer franchise laws mandate the existence of dealers and restrict how automakers are allowed to interact with customers to sell a vehicle. On top of that, Bob Reisner, CEO of Nassau Business Funding & Services, said, "Dealers and their associations are among the strongest political operators in many states. They as a group are difficult for state politicians to vote against." In California earlier this year, the state Assembly debated a bill with wide-ranging provisions to protect against what the California New Car Dealers Association called "inappropriate treatment of dealers by manufacturers." One of those provisions stipulated that subscription services need to go through dealers, but that item got stripped out when dealers and manufacturers agreed to discuss the matter further. In Indiana, Gov. Eric Holcomb signed a moratorium on all subscription programs by dealers or manufacturers until May 1, 2019, to give legislators more time to investigate. Dealers in New Jersey have taken their campaign to the state capitol, asking that the cars in subscription programs get a different classification for registration purposes. Automakers run the current subscription services and own the vehicles. Sign-ups and financial transactions happen online or through apps, leaving dealers to do little more than act as fulfillment centers to various degrees, with little legal recourse as to compensation amounts when they're called on to deliver or service a car. That's a bad base to build on for business owners who've sunk millions of dollars into their operations.

Watch man destroy his M6 'lemon' with a sledgehammer and ax

Just to be clear, the owner of this BMW M6 isn't ready for another one. He and his friend destroyed the V10-powered coupe in anger at the entrance to the Frankfurt Motor Show in a decidedly public fashion. Bild and GT Spirit report that the owner was angry over mysterious quality and reliability issues that he claims BMW wasn't able to fix. What we have here, folks, is claimed to be a very expensive lemon.
As the story goes, owner Pourmohseni Hadi bought the 2007 M6 in 2008, and five years later, he is still complaining about mysterious vibrations, rattles and severe jolts during gear changes - the latter he says have caused passengers to become nauseous. The car was taken to several BMW repair shops in Italy and Hadi says he he has written a letter to the automaker about his issues, but the car was never fixed and the letter unanswered, he claims. What we don't know is how many miles the car has been driven and when all these problems started happening. The situation reminds us of a certain Lamborghini Gallardo from a couple years back.
While we understand Hadi's frustration, perhaps an M6 just doesn't suit his tastes. After all, we'd be lying if we said a perfectly functioning M6 of this generation wasn't bumpy over uneven surfaces and wouldn't make some passengers nauseous, with its stiffly sprung suspension and dizzying 500-horsepower V10. Anyone wanna bet his M6 was equipped with one of BMW's notoriously abrupt SMG single-clutch gearboxes?
