2002 BMW X5 4.6is Estoril Blue with Alcantara/Cloth & Leather Combo. Only around 100 came in this color combo. 164k Miles. Very strong motor and tranny. Smooth ride, no vibrations or shaking. Clean carfax. Clean and clear title. I'm in no rush to sell this SUV. I love it. I have an E39 M5 and I got this to avoid putting miles on the M5. Just replaced the Water Pump and Seals. Also, flushed the coolant and did a pressure test, no leaks found. Also rechared the A/C, blows COLD. Fresh oil change with BMW Castrol 5w30, BMW oil filter. Also replaced the lower oil pan and gasket, the bolt was stripped so I wanted to make it easier for the new owner. All receipts available. **just a couple days ago a ticking noise developed. Took it to 3 mechanics because I couldn't figure it out on my own. All 3 mechanics, that I can take you to to confirm, said it's typical with the V8 X5 motor, it's the lifter. Basically pumps the oil from the bottom of the motor to the top, either one is stuck or isn't lubricated correctly. Bad news is, in order to fix a $30 dollar part, it requires a lot of labor, GOOD NEWS is it's just a NOISE and DOES NOT EFFECT PERFORMANCE OR RELIABILITY. You can't hear it from the inside of the car, and actually after driving for about 15-20miles the ticking goes away. The car runs like a champ, and the noise doesn't stop my wife and I from driving it.** I would prefer a BMW enthusiast that knows about this SUV. Please do your research if you do not know about the 4.6is. |

BMW M4 Convertible spied with naked top and trunk
Mon, 10 Feb 2014Our trusty spy photographers have been at it again, snagging these first images of the forthcoming BMW M4 Convertible without camouflage on its retractable roof and rear deck. You'll recall that this is not the first time we've seen the followup to the M3 Convertible, but that the last batch of images we had were encumbered by a lot more camouflage - this car is virtually naked by comparison.
Not surprisingly, the M4 looks to share its folding hardtop design with the standard 4 Series droptop, and it should operate in a similar manner as well. It's no surprise, but it looks like BMW is going to try and make the transition from M4 Coupe to M4 Convertible as effortless as previous efforts converting the M3 to an M3 Convertible. That should mean that below the beltline, this car is nearly identical to the coupe we saw in Detroit.
As for the camo'd features on these spy photos, the hood, front fascia, rear fascia, quarter panels, side sills and mirrors have all been shown on the M4 Coupe, and don't really bear mentioning. There's been no word of just where the M4 Convertible will make its debut, although considering the lack of disguise on this car, Geneva seems like a likely destination.
BMW M3, M4 let loose on the 'Ring
Wed, 24 Jul 2013We just posted our first drive of the 2014 BMW 435i yesterday, but for those wanting even more power from this stylish coupe, help is on the way. From the sounds of it, BMW will be showing off a production-ready concept previewing the M4 next month at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, but until then, we have some new spy shots of the performance coupe being tested at the Nürburgring, along with its four-door counterpart, the M3.
Despite all the camouflage, it doesn't take much imagination to picture what both cars will look like, since we can clearly see the more aggressive front fascia and beefier brake setup. One interesting element we see on both cars is a double bubble roof that is almost certainly made from carbon fiber. Based on our report earlier, both the M4 Coupe and M3 Sedan are expected to debut at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show.
BMW M4 to debut in Detroit, lose manual transmission
Wed, 21 Aug 2013BMW took the wraps off its M4 Concept at Pebble Beach last weekend, and many speculated that the highly anticipated production version of the sleek new two-door sports coupe would debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show later this year. But a well-placed source tell Autoblog that the E92 M3's successor won't arrive in Southern California this November. Instead, the German automaker will wait until the Detroit Auto Show in January for its first official reveal.
An all-new 3.0-liter inline-six with twin turbochargers is expected under the hood, and it should provide about the same horsepower as the current 4.0-liter V8 (rated at 414 horsepower), but with much more torque that arrives lower on the tachometer. The lightweight engine is said to have an impressively high redline, which is unusual for a turbocharged engine.
Unfortunately, Save the Manuals members aren't going to like this next bit of news. After four generations of three-pedal M3 models, our source says the upcoming F82 M4 will arrive with a dual-clutch transmission (DCT) as standard equipment - with no manual option - just like the latest iteration of the track-ready Porsche GT3 (few have complained about the automaker's PDK after driving the latest sports car from Stuttgart). In exchange for some moans, groans and gripes from enthusiasts, BMW's DCT mounted aft of the M4's inline-six will provide quicker acceleration and improved fuel economy.
