BMW X5 3.0i Model year 2002. RELISTED AGAIN DUE TO PEOPLE WHO JUST LIKE TO WASTE TIME, THIS IS NOT A GAME IF YOU DONT REALLY WANT THE CAR DONT BID THIS IS NOW A 3 DAY AUCTION AND I HAVE LOWERED THE RESERVE SUBSTANTIALLY LOT OF CAR FOR NEXT TO NOTHING. I bought this vehicle one year ago and have driven it all over the country, now time to let go as finances dictate downsizing. This is a 2002 X5 powered by the powerful 3.0 fuel injected engine, White in color it still looks really good with nice gloss despite a few small scratched typical of a vehicle of this age and mileage, Black leather interior has a small rip on the back of the drivers seat as per picture but overall is quite good. I believe I am the second owner and do not smoke so no bab smells, however the first owner must have been a smoker as there are several small burns in the headliner where they were obviously discarding their cigarettes out of the sunroof. As you can see from the pictures the car looks awesome with custom polished Aluminum grill and front under skirt giving the custom Euro look. Over the last 12 months I have replaced the following parts: Engine Throttle body. Mass Airflow sensor Left and Right Rear Upper control Arms Left and Rear front Control Arms Front Tie rod ends, Sway bars, Ball Joints and bushing, New Battery, Pully idler . Brakes front and rear rotors and pads. New tires. Windshield washer reservoir. Electronic Thermostat. Oil has been changed every 300 miles with synthetic no leaks or issues. I will tel you now the bad points of this vehicle that will need attention: There is an 8 inch crack in the wind shield right behind the rear view mirror ( see photo) however this was not bad enough to fail inspection of which it is still sticker-ed in Maine until next year, there is a fist size dent in the rear bottom section of the tail gate ( see photo) however I have bought a new rear tail gate which I will give with the vehicle ( just haven't had time to put it on also see photo) . Every now and then the service engine soon light will come on with a P0491 and P0492 code which it turns out is a bad vacuum hose on the secondary airflow system and doesn't impede the driving at all, however I have it booked into my mechanic tomorrow so this will be fixed by the time the car sells, also the ABS light and traction control comes on every now and then but goes right off once the ignition is turned on and off, I have exhausted my mechanics patience trying to find a fix , we have narrowed it down a wiring problem somewhere but as it doesn't bother the car and soon goes off have not tried to fix, simply making you aware of all the little issues I believe in complete honesty. Just replaced the tires less than 5000 miles ago and the Battery, the car has the usual features such as power everything including the moon roof ( which does not leak). In dash GPS Navigation, blue tooth hands free phone hook up, Reversing camera, iPhone and USB hook ups, Satellite radio, CD Player, Front DVD Player, Dual Rear in Headrest DVD players with individual players ( so the kids don't have to argue), Xeon headlights, exterior Chrome package with No Rust. Look at all the photo's and email me with any questions. Now For the Obvious to anyone with a brain , 1. IF YOU DONT HAVE THE MONEY TO COMPLETE THE SALE DONT BID. 2. IF YOU JUST TRYING TO IMPRESS YOUR GIRLFRIEND DONT BID. 3. IF FOR WHATEVER REASON YOU KNOW YOU CANT COMPLETE THE SALE DONT BID. THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION FOR A VERY NICE SUV, SO PLEASE KNOW THIS IS A BINDING CONTRACT AND NOT A GAME, THAT BEING SAID GOOD LUCK BIDDING. |

Land Rover Defender V8, next Range Rover, new BMW M3 share the Nurburgring
Thu, Jul 23 2020From open-track days to 24-hour races, so many events are held on Germany's Nurburgring track that carmakers need to share the tarmac with their rivals to put new models through their paces. Industry pool days are normally closed to the public, but a seven-minute video reveals what Land Rover, BMW, and several others are testing. Posted on YouTube by StatesideSupercars, the video shows prototypes racing around the track in the mid-summer heat. Land Rover's engineers are busy putting the final touches on the V8-powered variant of the new Defender, which our spies have previously spotted testing in its home country of England, and they're developing what looks like the high-performance, SVR-badged version of the next-generation Range Rover due out in 2020. As we reported earlier in 2020, the hot-rodded Defender packs a 5.0-liter V8 between its fenders, though its horsepower and torque outputs remain under wraps. Unverified rumors claim it will arrive as a limited-edition model to avoid sending Land Rover's fleet-wide CO2 emissions through the roof. And, the video confirms chassis engineers have made extensive modifications to the SUV's suspension, partly to keep body roll in check. Walking down the pits, members of BMW's testing team are getting up early to put track miles on an enigmatic variant of the face-lifted M5, and on the next-generation M3. We've already seen the M5 in the metal, so why is it still camouflaged? One possible answer is that we're looking at the rumored CS version, which should receive a 641-horsepower V8 thanks to software tweaks and a better cooling system. The simpler (and more boring) possibility is that BMW isn't quite done testing the M5, and it doesn't want to waste time removing the black and white wrap. Your author regularly spotted i8 prototypes in full camouflage regalia months after its debut. As for the M3, much has already been said about its mammoth grille, which seemingly mirrors the one worn by the new 4 Series. Autoblog drove a pre-production prototype in June and walked away impressed. It receives an evolution of the X3 M's 3.0-liter straight-six turbocharged to 473 horsepower, though selecting the optional Competition package will increase that figure to 503. And, fear not: The six-speed stick is coming back. Land Rover and BMW aren't the only companies playing on the 'Ring.
BMW Hack: the auto industry's big cyber-security warning sign [w/video]
Sat, Feb 7 2015A cyber-security hole that left more than two million BMWs vulnerable may be the most serious breach the auto industry has faced in its emerging fight against car hackers. Security experts are not only concerned that researchers found weaknesses inside the company's Connected Drive remote-services system. They're worried about how the hackers gained entry. German researchers spoofed a cell-phone station and sent fake messages to a SIM card within a BMW's telematics system. Once inside, they locked and unlocked car doors. Other researchers have demonstrated it's possible to hack into a car and control its critical functions, but what separates this latest exploit from others is that it was conducted remotely. In an industry that's just coming to grips with the security threats posed by connectivity in cars, the possibility of a remote breach has been an ominous prospect. The fact it has now occurred may mean a landmark threshold has been crossed. "It's as close as I've seen to a genuine, remote attack on telematics," said Mike Parris, head of the secure car division at SBD, a UK-based automotive technology consulting company. "At this point, the OEMs are trying to play a game of catch up." Previous researchers in the automotive cyber-security field have launched remote attacks that are similar in nature, though not the same. In 2010, academics at California-San Diego and the University of Washington demonstrated they could remotely control essential functions of a car, but they needed to be within close proximity of the vehicle. In November 2014, researchers at Argus Cyber Security remotely hacked cars with an aftermarket device called a Zubie plugged into their diagnostic ports. But the remote attack was predicated on the Zubie dongle having physically been installed in the car. With the BMW hack, researchers compromised the car without needing physical access or proximity. The German Automobile Association, whose researchers conducted the BMW study, said it infiltrated the system "within minutes" and left undetected, a feat that raises the possibility that a hacker could do the same in a real-world scenario. Messages Were Sent Unencrypted Security analysts described the BMW infiltration as a "man in the middle" attack. Researchers mimicked a cellular base station and captured traffic between the car and the BMW Connected Drive service, which drivers can access and control via an app on their cell phones.
BMW details Concept X5 eDrive ahead of New York debut
Sun, 13 Apr 2014Already weighing more than most other types of vehicles and with the space to accommodate the extra equipment, crossovers and SUVs arguably make for one of the more ideal platforms to transform into a hybrid. And there have been a handful of them - like the Audi Q5, Infiniti QX60/Nissan Pathfinder, Porsche Cayenne/Volkswagen Touareg, Lexus RX450h/Toyota Highlander and Cadillac Escalade/Chevy Tahoe/GMC Yukon - but by and large the majority of hybrids on the market are sedans and hatchbacks. BMW, however, looks poised to join the minority with the X5.
The Bavarian automaker showcased the X5 eDrive concept at Frankfurt last year, and as promised, has now revealed the followup it will present at the New York Auto Show in just a few days. The new Concept X5 eDrive, as BMW has now revealed, pairs a 2.0-liter turbo four good for 245 horsepower to a 95-hp electric motor to deliver a combined 340 horsepower. Its lithium-ion battery can power it for up to 20 miles and at speeds up to 75 miles per hour before the gasoline engine needs to kick in. All that without sacrificing the vehicle's utility, maintaining an almost perfectly flat loading floor with 40:20:40 split-folding rear seats, and without sacrificing much on performance, either: with a 0-62 time of seven seconds flat, the X5 eDrive concept is quicker off the line than the production X5 with the 2.5-liter turbodiesel and just a tenth off of the 3.0-liter turbodiesel.
With the full technical details now released (you can delve into it all in the press release below), the only question remains when BMW will actually put the X5 eDrive into production. Given its appearance in New York, though, we gather that whenever it does reach showrooms, it'll reach American ones as well.
