Hi up for sale is my 2008 BMW X5. Im the second owner of the car. This suv has 138,000 miles but is so clean and runs so good you would think it is new. It has the 3.0 liter 6 cylinder that BMW is known for, in it as well. Here's the story behind her. My cousin works in the body shop for Thompson Porsche and Audi. I called him and told him they had an X5 for sale that I was interested in. He wasnt sure what car it was so I told him the milage, the year and the asking price. He says they want too much for it do not buy it. so i took his advice. Two days later he called me. "Hey I was curious about what car you were looking at so I checked into it. Buy this car!!!" It ended up being the service managers best friends car who is the original owner and got every recommended service done at either the exact time recommended or right before. The reason it had so many miles was he lived in the philadelphia suburbs and had two resturants down the shore so he drove it everyday to them. So most of the miles are easy highway miles. The reason im selling is that Im just tired of it. I always had cars. This is my first SUV and I want a car again. SUV's are not my cup of tea. The original owner special ordered it. It has the keyless lock and entry package. The 3rd row seat and the tv entertainment package. It comes with the BMW remote and head phones as well. The brown leather is hard to come by in this car as well. It runs flawlessly and drives even better. Literally nothing drives like a BMW. The ride will have you hooked for life. When this is sold, I will be buying another BMW just in the car catagory. Any questions call me at 215-514-0018. Thanks Vinny

BMW patents strange three-cylinder pushrod engines, perhaps for cruiser motorcycle
Thu, Mar 12 2015For decades BMW's motorcycles were easily identified by the two opposed cylinders sticking out of each side of the bike. While you can still find this layout on some of its products, these days the company also uses a variety of other layouts, depending on the model line. Based on European patents, there might even be a Bimmer in the ranks eventually with an absolutely bizarre-looking W3 configuration. BMW actually has two separate patents on these W3 designs, and both of them have the goal of cramming three cylinders into the space of a traditional V-twin. The first splays the cylinder out into a fan shape with pushrods operating the valves. The description submitted to the World Intellectual Property Organization describes the solution as, "The embodiment according to the invention represents an as of yet unknown type of W-3 reciprocating piston internal combustion engine having cylinder angles which can be largely freely sized." The other solution is more of a modification to the traditional V-twin. Two of the cylinders share a crankpin, but the third has its own and is positioned inside the angle of the V. It's a very odd-looking engine. With BMW's assertion that these designs are meant to fit in place of a traditional V-twin, Jalopnik speculates that they could be for a future cruiser from the company, and that would make sense. While brand offers a line of sport tourers with the K1600 line, it doesn't have something more classic to take on the likes of the Ducati Diavel. Creating such a weird engine would probably grab early interest from riders.
BMW i8 Spyder gets production nod
Wed, 18 Dec 2013BMW could be poised to expand its i8 range, beyond the hardtop version of the plug-in hybrid supercar. A report from Bimmerpost is claiming that the i8 Spyder, which we showed you in concept form at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show, will be heading to production.
The website claims the open-roof fuel-sipper was shown to BMW management last Friday as a production-intent model. Other than that, there's not a lot to tell here. The i8 Spyder should feature all the same mechanical and aesthetic features found on the i8 Coupe, just without the confining nature of a roof. It's unclear when we'll see a production i8 droptop make its debut, although this certainly strikes us as the kind of car that should arrive at the Geneva Motor Show.
While an i8 Spyder does seem like a logical leap for BMW's i sub-brand, we're going to keep this one filed under the rumors category until we hear more.
EVO takes flight in BMW's sultry i8
Mon, 15 Sep 2014Electric cars and hybrids are here to stay, much to the apparent dismay of some auto enthusiasts, but that doesn't mean they have to represent the death of enjoyable driving. Granted, the initial run of hybrids in the US like the Honda Insight and Toyota Prius weren't exactly tailor-made for aggressive folks behind the wheel, but things are clearly changing. In its latest video, Evo takes a look at three examples from Europe's new crop of electrified vehicles to show that the future of fun motoring is safe and sound.
Evo editor Henry Catchpole kicks things off with one of the most bizarre EVs of the bunch, the tiny Renault Twizy. Its low power and 50-mile-per-hour top speed might make it miles away from a hot hatch, but there's still fun to be had in extracting the most from this little city car. Next up is the Audi A3 E-Tron, which isn't technically available yet. It's a step in the right direction of eventually creating an affordable, fun-to-drive hybrid hot hatch.
However, the main event is Catchpole getting some seat time in the BMW i8. The Bimmer can really fly -literally in this case - and the butterfly-door coupe offers a clear look at the prospects for electrified sports cars. It might not have the power of hybrid supercar contemporaries like the LaFerrari or Porsche 918 Spyder, but the BMW doesn't cost nearly as much, either. See? Improved efficiency doesn't have to mean boring.
