All mechanical and electrical systems function as normal. Runs and drives exceptionally well. No accidents or recalls. One small nick in the rear bumper cover (not accident related), otherwise the paint is virtually flawless. Seating surfaces look brand new. Some minor cosmetic wear on center armrest and door handles. Carpets and cargo area in excellent condition. Front brake rotors, pads and wear sensors replaced at 58000 miles. Engine and cabin air filters replaced at 65000 miles. New Michelin Energy tires installed at 57000 miles."

This X5 has been an outstanding vehicle to own and I'm only selling because I needed a larger cargo van.  The design and build quality of this BMW is in a class well above any comparable mid-size SUV.  The 3.0i inline six cylinder engine combined with the 6-speed shiftable automatic transmission provide smooth, reliable performance.  The handling is where the X5 really stands out.  The independent suspension, all-wheel drive, traction and stability control systems deliver sportscar handling with almost no body roll.  The interior is nicely appointed with very high quality materials that don't look and feel like recycled milk jugs.  All power accessories function properly and have been maintenance free.  This X5 includes almost all the options that were available except for in-dash navigation/DVD.  The cold weather packages adds heated seats, heated washers for windscreen and headlights.  Clean CARFAX.  2 owner.  Title in hand.

Meet the inventor of the BMW 3 Series wagon

Sat, 11 May 2013

It's hard to imagine, but once upon a time, there were only two BMW 3 Series variants: the coupe and sedan. Back before gran coupes, convertibles and yes, even touring models were available, buyers could only get their 3 Series fix if it came with two or four doors and a fixed roof. Back in the mid '80s, BMW engineer Max Reisbock was having some trouble fitting his whole family into his four door. Rather than suck it up and buy a van, he picked up a wrecked 3 Series and got to cutting in a buddy's garage. Months later, he had the very first 3 Series Touring ever built.
At first, he kept the the car to himself, using it to haul friends and family around, but he eventually showed it off to his friends at work. When the BMW executives found out about his project, they called him up to take a closer look. After putting an eyeball on the car, they took it, copied his design, made a few tweaks and quickly rolled out the first production 3 Series Touring. How's that for validation? Check out the video below for Reisbock's story.

BMW raises pricing on many models

Wed, 02 Oct 2013

Buyers interested in a new BMW will start paying a bit more for their Ultimate Driving Machines, beginning yesterday. The Munich, Germany-based manufacturer has announced price hikes across nearly its entire range, covering model years 2013 and 2014, that will sting higher-end customers in particular.
Price increases are enough to get any consumer riled up, but the incremental nature of BMW's increase makes it a bit easier to swallow. All 1 Series and remaining 3 Series Convertibles (including the M3 Convertible) will see a $300 increase in price. All current-generation F30 3 Series, 5 Series GT and X3 crossovers will get their price bumped by $200. $500 increases are coming for the 6 Series range (not including the M6), while the diminutive X1 gets just a $100 increase.
Cars on the losing end of the price hikes include the newest M cars, the M5 and M6 Coupe, Convertible and Gran Coupe, which are being bumped $2,000. BMW is adding $1,000 to the sticker of all Z4s and the entire X6 range, including the X6M.

BMW i8 official images leak ahead of Frankfurt [w/video]

Tue, 03 Sep 2013

The new BMW i8 plug-in electric supercar isn't set to make its official debut until September 10, when it will glide onto the Frankfurt Motor Show stage amidst a sea of flash photography. Of course, that isn't so true in today's world, where debuts are always preceded (often carefully) by "leaks."
Take this trio of images of the BMW i8 - there's just enough of the exterior on display in the profile shot to draw attention, without showing important styling points that might be present on the front or back of the car. The same goes for the video attached below. The cabin shot is cool, but isn't particularly earth-shattering when it comes to BMW interiors. As for the skeletal shot, we can see the 1.5-liter, turbocharged engine positioned between the rear axles, the battery pack found in what would be the transmission tunnel and the front-mounted electric motors.
We'll have a full set of live images when the BMW i8 makes its debut in Frankfurt next week. Until then, have a look in the gallery and at the video below, and let us know what you think of BMW's next big thing.
