Oakhurst, New Jersey, United States
2002 BMW X5 4.4I SPORT SUV NO RESERVE - HIGHEST BIDDER WINS THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME TO REVIEW MY AUCTION. UP FOR SALE IS THIS VERY NICE 2002 BMW X5 4.4I SPORT SUV. I HAVE OWNED THIS SUV FOR THE LAST 8 YEARS AND IT HAS BEEN GREAT!....I HAVE MAINTAINED AND CARED FOR THIS VEHICLE AND NOW IT IS TIME TO SELL TO ANOTHER OWNER. I HAVE PURCHASED AND SOLD MANY CARS AND TRUCKS ON E-BAY AND BELIEVE FULL DESCRIPTION AND BACKGROUND IS CRICTICAL TO ANY SUCCESFUL SALE. THIS SUV NEEDS SOME WORK. FOR THE LAST 6 MONTHS SOME PARTS HAVE FAILED. I HAVE REPAIRED MOST THE BEST I CAN THROUGH LOCAL MECHANICS AND SHOPS. THERE ARE SOME THINGS THAT HAVE TO BE ADDRESSED AND THAT IS THE REASON FOR THE NO RESERVE AUCTION. IT IS TRULY IN GOOD CONDITION IN NEED OF SOME MECHANICAL REVIVAL. 1. I RECENTLY REPLACED A BULK OF THE OIL LINE HOSES AND GASKETS (I HAVE ALL PAPERWORK). HOWEVER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. I SPOKE WITH A LOCAL BMW TECH AND HE ADVISED THE COILS AND SPARK PLUGS MAY NEED TO BE REPLACED. ADDITIONALLY 3 PISTONS ARE MISFIRING AND NEED TO BE CHECKED. THE CAR TREMBLES A BIT AT START UP BUT CAN BE DRIVEN. 2. THE DSC AND BRAKE LIGHTS ARE ON. I BELIEVE THIS IS DUE TO THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BUT IT HAS TO BE CHECKED. OTHER THAN THE 2 ISSUES ABOVE THE CAR IS IN EXCELLENT SHAPE BEING 12 YEARS OLD. ALL LEATHER IS NICE AND CLEAN. ASIDE FOR SOME SMALL SCRAPES AND PAINT CHIPS THE EXTERIOR IS IN NICE CONDITION. ALL 4 TIRES ARE UNDER 1 YEAR OLD AND A LARGE MAJORITY OF THE DRIVETRAIN, AXLES AND BRAKES WERE REPLACED LESS THAN 12 MONTHS BACK. I HAVE DRIVEN THIS CAR FOR THE LAST 8 YEARS APPROXIMATLY 75,000 MILES. IT HAS BEEN GREAT. I AM TRULY SAD TO LET IT GO BUT I BELIEVE NOW IS THE TIME. I FEEL WITH SOME CARE THIS SUV WILL DRIVE BEAUTIFULLY AND TREAT THE NEXT OWNER WITH MANY MORE MILES TO COME. I UNDERSTAND AND RESPECT THERE MAY BE MORE QUESTIONS SO PLEASE EMAIL ME AT FLENIN@AOL.COM ANYTIME AND I WILL DO MY VERY BEST TO ANSWER ANY INQUIRIES QUICKLY AND AS DETAILED AS POSSIBLE. |

Car Hacking 101: Here's what motorists should know [w/video]
Tue, Feb 24 2015Cars are nothing more than computers on wheels. As such, they're vulnerable to hackers. Most people who work within the auto industry have understood this for years, but for the broader American public not paying as close attention, three storylines emerged recently that underscored this new vehicular reality. First, German researchers found a flaw in BMWs remote-services system that allowed them to access the telematics units in vehicles. Then, a 60 Minutes report demonstrated that researchers could remotely infiltrate a Chevy Impala and override critical functions, like acceleration and braking. Finally, a US Senator released a critical report (see video above) that found almost all automakers are unprepared to handle real-time hacks of their vehicles. Those reports come on the heels of two previous instances in recent months when researchers demonstrated the capability to hack cars. All this news can be disconcerting. If you're late to the concept of car-hacking and wondering how this is possible, we've got you covered. Here's your quick primer on what you need to know. 1. How Did My Car Become A Computer? On the outside, cars haven't changed all that much over the past couple of decades years. On the inside, however, the amount of electronics and software has dramatically increased. Most new cars contain more than 50 microprocessors known as electronic control units. These ECUs control everything from airbag deployment and navigation systems to throttle control and braking, and they're usually connected to each other on an internal network called the CAN bus. 2. What Exactly Is Car Hacking? Depends who you ask. Automakers might consider anything that alters the car from its state of manufacture as a 'hack.' For example, if you're chipping the engine – re-calibrating those ECUs to increase your horsepower – some people might consider that a hack. But in the context of the recent news reports, security experts are focused on unwanted, unauthorized cyber intrusions into a vehicle. Once inside your car, prospective attacks could range from minor things like eavesdropping on conversations via an infotainment system and unlocking car doors to major concerns, like overriding driver inputs and controlling braking, steering and acceleration. 3. How Is This All Possible? Any part of the car that communicates with the outside world, either via a remote or direct connection, is a potential entry point for hackers.
Autoblog Minute: UAW and FCA avoid strike, Clarkson teases new show
Fri, Oct 9 2015FCA avoids a worker strike, a former Top Gear host teases us with a picture from Amazon's new car show, and Toyota predicts autonomous cars by 2020. Autoblog senior editor Greg Migliore reports on this edition of Autoblog Minute Weekly Recap. Show full video transcript text [00:00:00] FCA avoids a worker strike, a former Top Gear host teases us with a picture from Amazon's new car show, and Toyota predicts autonomous cars by 2020. I'm senior editor Greg Migliore and this is your Autoblog Minute Weekly Recap. A UAW strike of FCA was avoided thanks to a zero-hour tentative agreement reached this week. Worker concerns that were renegotiated in the new [00:00:30] deal include adjustments to the two-tier wage scale, health care costs, and production outsourcing. Now check-in with Autoblog as we update our reports on this evolving story. Shooting began on Amazon Prime's new automotive show starring the former Top Gear crew. That's Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May. Now Clarkson threw out a tweet from day one of filming on location at Algarve Motor Park in Portugal. The picture features the show's [00:01:00] three stars and crew posing with the holy trinity of hyper cars. That's a McLaren P1, a Ferrari LaFerrari, and a Porsche 918 Spyder. This Prime show is being called Gear Knobs though the name is unofficial. Now if a tweet is any indication of what we can expect, who cares what it's called this is gonna be awesome. (Eds Note: Clarkson tweeted Friday that the show will not be called Gear Knobs.) Toyota predicts drivers could be obsolete on highways as early as 2020, with technology dubbed the Toyota Highway Teammate or THT. Toyota is using a modified [00:01:30] Lexus GS to show what this is capable of. THT is already able to create a driverless freeway car that's capable of changing lanes, making passes and taking curves. Plus, it can keep safe distances from other vehicles. Toyota is currently testing this on Tokyo's Shuto Expressway. Those are the highlights from the week that was. Be sure to check out my full recap this Saturday. And I'll have some added insight on the BMW M4 GTS. For Autoblog, I'm Greg Migliore. [00:02:00] Show Logo Autoblog Minute is a short-form video news series reporting on all things automotive. Porsche tops JD Power APEAL study for 12th time
Wed, Jul 27 2016JD Power's 2016 Automotive Performance, Execution, and Layout (APEAL) study hasn't changed much this time around with Porsche coming in at No.1 for the 12th consecutive year, while BMW was close behind in second. Jaguar and Mercedes-Benz tied for third with Land Rover, Lexus, and Lincoln tied for No.5. The APEAL Study, according to JD Power, measures owners' level of excitement and emotional attachment across 77 parameters. Brands and cars are rated on a 1,000-point scale. The study found that new cars with modern safety features including low speed collision avoidance and blind spot monitoring have higher APEAL scores than vehicles without the features. The overall industry score increased from 798 to 801, which JD Power claims was helped by the launch of a variety of new vehicles. This year, 22 out of 30 new or redesigned cars received a higher score than the vehicle's respective segment average. Porsche is once again at the top of the list as the automaker's score increased by three points to 877. BMW outscored Jaguar to take second place with a score of 859, while the British automaker dropped three points from last year with 852 points. Volkswagen overtook Mini to become the top-ranked non-premium brand with 809 points, while the latter automaker trailed behind by one point. At the end of the scale, Smart came in at the very bottom for the second year in a row with a score of 745 points, which represents an increase of 62 points over last year. Fiat's score increased by six points to 755, but still confined the automaker to second-to-worst place for a consecutive year. Mitsubishi's score increased to 770, up from 755, to become the fourth-worst brand, while Jeep fell to third-worst with a decrease in seven points to 756. General Motors received six segment-level awards, followed by Hyundai with five, and BMW and VW earning four apiece. Surprise segment victories include the Chevrolet Camaro, which outscored the Dodge Challenger, and the Lexus RC which ranked above the BMW 4 and 3 Series. For more information on how the automakers ranked, check out the official release on the 2016 APEAL Study below or visit JD Power's website to analyze the graphs.
