2002 Bmw X5 4.4, Clean, Nav, Wheels, Performance Upgrades 111k/mi, 15mpg on 2040-cars
Scottsdale, Arizona, United States
The car is immaculate and ready to drive! It is a 2002 X5 4.4 w/ 111,000 Miles. Titanium Silver Exterior / Gray Interior. Came stock with all options except Cold Weather Package. It averages 14-15MPG when riding on the aftermarket wheels, 16-17 with the stock wheels and tires.
This car is in outstanding shape and must be seen in person. I have kept up on all maintenance and little repairs. All electronics are in perfect working condition, trim and leather clean etc. I baby this truck. Oil changes every 5k miles (from 70k miles until now), synthetic only. The interior leather is 8/10. Only an 8 because there are some small car seat marks in the back and the driver's seat has been professionally repaired and the carpet has normal wear. It has the black rubber sport mats and trunk mat in excellent condition. No accidents except for a drink driver changing lanes in to me last year. I braked and avoided him almost completely but he grazed the front bumper. I had his insurance company replace it with a brand new one and repaint the front fenders. @Performance AFE Stage 2 Cold Air Intake Custom Engine and Transmission Software X-Pipe Installation with Center Resonator Delete (Truck sounds awesome when on the gas, baby could sleep in back the rest of the time...) @Suspension H&R Sport Springs (about 1.75 in drop all around) @Wheels 2012 BMW X5/X6 Double Spoke 215 Front: 20x10 275/40-20 (New Michelen Latitue Tour HP's w/ replacement certs from Discount Tire Feb 2014 $900) Rear: 20x11 315/35-20 (New Michelen Latitue Tour HP's w/ replacement certs from Discount Tire Feb 2014 $1000) ****Also comes with factory wheels / tire (90% tread left), factory springs and factory airbox. @Brakes Zimmerman Cross Drilled and Slotted Rotors (Installed Feb 2013) Hawk PC Ceramic Brake Pads (Installed Feb 2013)(Due for pads in next 5k miles) StopTech Braided Brake Lines (Installed Feb 2013) @Audio/Video Kenwood DNX 9980HD eXcelon In-Dash Multimedia Navigation System (Latest 2013 Garmin Maps w/ photo radar waypoints) Pioneer Rearview Camera With Parking Assist Visual Display Garmin ecoRoute HD Vehicle Diagnostics Communicator (In Dash Engine Statistics/Diagnostics for Kenwood DNX) JL HD900/5 Class D Amplifier 100W x 4 + 500W x 1 w/ Battery Capacitor Diamond Audio D600 (Front) and D500 (Rear) Component Speakers (basically best car audio speakers money can buy) JL 10w7 Sub in Custom Enclosure @Protection Valentine One Hardwire (V1 Not Included) Laser Elite LE-X4 Quad Transponder Laser Jammers (All Jammers In Front) @Other Towing Package Instaled (Feb 2013) All Hoses and Belts Replaced (including crank case vent valve) (Feb 2013) Rear Self Leveling Airbags (Replaced Feb 2013) New water pump and Radiator and Coolant Resivor August 2013 Control Arm Bushings, Tie Rods (Replaced November 2013) AC Blower Motor and Blower Resisitor Replaced (May 2014) Black Grills and Carbon Fiber BMW Emblems More pictures coming, full detail and wax in progress... |

Why are all US-bound BMW i3 EVs with range extenders stuck at port?
Tue, May 20 2014The first BMW i3 EVs have been delivered in the US, but in a quirk of the rules, none of them have been the range-extended versions. Long-time BMW electric vehicle driver Tom Moloughney discovered this fact the hard way. His i3 REx has been sitting at a New Jersey port for over a week and he's getting impatient. The problem is something Moloughney calls a "Monroney Hold." So, instead of sitting there fuming, Moloughney did a bit of research and discovered that the problem is something he calls a "Monroney Hold." He says that "the EPA certification has not been completed so BMW doesn't have a Monroney label (window sticker) to post in the window before the car leaves the port, which is required by law. The range extender option changes (shortens) the car's electric range, and also requires an official MPG rating so BMW couldn't use the same Monroney label as they did for the all electric i3." You can read more on his website, but it turns out that the story isn't so simple. For one thing, the EPA testing has been finished. Washington State representative Chad Magendaz told Moloughney that he asked the EPA for an official statement and got the following from Linc Wehrly, Director of the Light-Duty Vehicle Center Compliance Division: "EPA tested the i3 REx and provided the results of that testing to BMW on May 13th. EPA is not aware of anything that would prevent BMW from importing the vehicles since May 13th." Then there's the official word from BMW. Spokesman Dave Buchko told AutoblogGreen that: We are moving as quickly as possible to release the first BMW i3 Range-Extender models to BMW i Centers. Receipt of test data from the EPA is one step, but not the final step, in the process of receiving certification from the EPA. Rules do not permit the release of vehicles for sale until EPA labels are finalized, produced and affixed to any vehicle. Barring any unforeseen delays, we expect that to happen by the end of this week. We have never certified a vehicle like this before. We are taking every precaution to make sure that everything is done in a timely, but more importantly correct manner. In that Monroney labels cannot be produced until the EPA certification process is complete, the characterization [of a "Monroney Hold"] is not technically incorrect, but there is more to it than that, as is often true in life. On a lighter note, BMW donated a loaded i3 to Brad Pitt's Make It Right charity foundation as a fundraiser. Read about that below.
BMW tests M Lap Timer App with M4 Coupe at Brands Hatch
Fri, 21 Mar 2014The 2015 BMW M4 looks to include all the necessary ingredients to offer dynamite driving experience. It's an M car after all. But in today's constantly connected world, the experience of hurtling a car around a track isn't always enough.
We want data, and while there are some solid telemetry apps available for smartphones (notably Harry's GPS LapTimer), manufacturers have been a bit slower to develop their own dedicated mobile telemetry trackers for their performance cars. With the new M4, though, BMW is taking the plunge, allowing drivers to track their lap progress through a new app, creatively called the M Lap Timer.
To show off the program, BMW has recruited touring car racer Andy Priaulx to perform a fast lap in an M4 at the UK's Brands Hatch circuit. The accompanying video doesn't do much to show off the app in action. Rather, it give us a stylized look at the metrics as Priaulx hustles BMW's hottest 4 Series coupe around the circuit.
BMW i3 to start at $41,350*
Mon, 22 Jul 2013With a week to go before the global debut of the BMW i3, BMW has announced pricing for its first-ever production electric vehicle. The all-electric version of the i3 goes on sale in the second quarter of next year with a starting price of $41,350 (*not including $925 for destination nor any applicable government tax credits).
Some of the pricing elements for the i3 that BMW continues to withhold are the cost of the model using a gasoline motorcycle engine as a range-extending generator, or that of the DC Fast Charge option. This latter feature will allow the i3's depleted lithium-ion battery pack to get an 80 percent charge in just 20 minutes; for comparison's sake, the DC quick charge feature is a $750 option on the 2014 Chevy Spark EV.
Sure, we've already driven the BMW i3, but the production version of the BMW EV - promising the interior space of a BMW 3 Series - will be unveiled next week at simultaneous ceremonies in New York, London and Beijing. Scroll down for BMW's brief press blast regarding its upcoming i3.
