Up for grabs is my magnificent 2008 BWM M6. I am the third owner of this car but the second owner is a close personal friend of mine and I purchased this car from him when he bought a new maclaren last year, and he knew the first owner., so there is a great lineage of ownership on this car. This M6 has always been kept in showroom condition and the car both cosmetically and mechanically is in wonderful shape. Always garage kept/non-smoker. Only imperfection is a small group on cracks on the very bottom edge of the carbon fiber hood., as seen in the pics.(not visible to the eye unless under close inspection, and note to self don't ever slam this hood., close it very gently with your hands til it catches on the hood latches. All of the mods on the car are new and have been performed since I have been the owner of the car., and I am even including the original OEM M6 hood (about $2,000) and Kidney Grilles.
As you can tell by the pic of the window sticker., this M6 is fully loaded with essentially every possible option., carbon fiber package, ipod dock., soft-close doors, etc etc. Car was fully serviced @ BMW Dallas about 2 months ago so it ready to roar! Vehicle has existing FULLY TRANSFERRABLE CPO WARRANTY +++ MAINTENANCE PROGRAM UNTIL 3/4/14 (as we know with these M6's there is huge value to buying them still under warranty) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- List of Mods: (about $17,000 in mods and all under bmw's approval and still in warranty) Vorsteiner Carbon Fiber Vented Racing Hood (as I mentioned this auction includes the original OEM M6 hood as well, as seen in pics, and the white marker on the OEM hood is a body shop pen and just wipes off I just didn't have anything to wipe it off with when I was taking the pics) ^The CF Hood was painted factory space grey metallic on top and awesome matte space grey metallic on the underside, as well as the tail Lights, Side Turn Signal Lights and Front Reflectors were Professionally Spray Tinted @ Stuart's Paint & Body, the highest end shop for this kind of work in Dallas. (they did the Ferrari F40 restoration on Fast n Loud) Vorsteiner Carbon Fiber Deck Lid Spoiler DCTMS Carbon Fiber Flat-Bottom Alcantara/Carbon Fiber Steering Wheel (freakin awesome!) Borla Full Catback Exhaust System with X-Pipe Custom LED Angel EYES. Matte black housing with Gloss Black Shrouds and side reflector painted M Badge Stripes. (THE ONLY M6 ON THE PLANET WITH THESE LIGHTS)!!! LED License Plate Bulbs and Mirror Vanity Lights. Matte Black Kidney Grilles Custom 3M M-Striping on Kidney Grilles and on Interior CF Trim Vehicle Is Hard-Wired for a Valentine 1 radar detector or any other radar that can be hard-wired New OEM M6 Floormats Just purchased last month. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Buyer is responsible for picking up/taking delivery of the vehicle. 2015 BMW i8 [w/video]
Mon, 28 Apr 2014The most important thing to keep in mind while driving BMW's all-new i8 is that it's not a product of the company's vaunted M division.
Sleek sports-coupe design, carbon-fiber construction and blistering acceleration may cause automotive enthusiasts to drool, but the i8 has not been conceptualized, engineered or assembled to be another one of BMW's world-class track stars. Instead, the i8 has been hatched as a progressive sports car from the Bavarian outfit's new i division, which "represents visionary electric vehicles and mobility services, inspiring design and a new understanding of premium that is strongly defined by sustainability." Think of it as thrilling, but with an engaging environmental twist.
It's nearly impossible to walk up to the i8 with stopping twenty feet short and taking in its styling. There's no other production car as visually fascinating - this BMW is showroom-ready sculpture that captures all of the essence of the Vision Efficient Dynamics Concept that wowed crowds at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. The wind sees it as a 0.26 drag coefficient, but humans will study its beautifully crafted carbon fiber and glass panels and realize they're in the presence of the future.

BMW's new i DC Fast Charger will give free juice to i3 drivers
Tue, Jul 29 2014From solar chargeports to the first SAE Combo Fast Charger, BMW is offering or promoting more charging options for the i3 than most people will know what to do with. This is not a bad thing. At the Plug-In 2014 conference happening in San Jose, CA this week, BMW announced a new i DC Fast Charging unit as well as the ChargeNow DC Fast program, which is similar in some ways to Nissan's No Charge To Charge. Let's start with the chargers. Smaller and much cheaper than other DC fast chargers, an i DC Fast Charger costs just $6,548 plus installation. Remember, it was a big deal in 2011 when Nissan's DC fast charger was less than $10,000. The i DC Fast Chargers use the SAE Combo connector, so will also work in EVs from Ford, VW and Chevy and other automakers, when available. They take 30 minutes to charge an empty i3 to 80 percent full. All a driver will need in order to use the charger is a ChargePoint (or ChargeNow) card. Most of the first units will likely end up at BMW i dealers across the US. In a separate announcement, the ChargeNow DC Fast program will allow BMW i3 drivers to get free charging until the end of 2015 at participating NRG eVgo Freedom Stations. The catch is that they need to use the ChargeNow card at least once by the end of 2014. eVgo is promising to install at least 100 compatible DC fast chargers in California by the end of next year, so this should be relatively easy in at least one of the 50 states. BMW i DC Fast Chargers, developed in collaboration with Bosch Automotive Service Solutions, are half the size of current DC Combo fast chargers, compatible with multiple electric vehicles and significantly more affordable. BMW i DC Fast Chargers run on the ChargePoint network giving BMW i3 drivers access with a ChargePoint or ChargeNow card. ChargeNow DC Fast enables BMW i3 drivers to charge at no cost, at participating NRG eVgo Freedom Stations equipped with DC Combo Fast Charging, through 2015. At Plug-In 2014, a conference dedicated to discussing key issues for the long-term success of electric vehicles, BMW of North America launched its BMW i DC Fast Chargers which can charge the BMW i3 all-electric vehicle's battery up to 80 percent in 30 minutes.
