2006 - Bmw M Roadster & Coupe on 2040-cars
Brooklyn, New York, United States
In a world of ubiquity I can tell you I still get stopped at the grocery store almost every time I go because this car is so unique | still get asked if it's the latest 2014 model | this sports car is unique and very timeless in design | Please do not think this is a (or even looks like) a common Z4. It's nothing like the coupe version of the Z4, either. It's truly a gentleman's sports car: great daily drive but always up for a spirited drive | Not only is a hard top, fastback, but it's more aggressive looking (but not too) with flared wheelwells. The best car I've driven. It's gorgeous all around and I will miss it dearly. *2 EXTRA FRONT RIMS included - Beautiful and OEM in and out | extra set of front rims (one is brand new and the other is almost new (mounted but not used) *NEW ( ish) tires: less than 5000 miles 340hp M engine Sapphire Black 6 speed manual gearbox is a pleasure to drive Carbon weave dash NAV Black Leather interior and quality build all around all power / heated seats with memory power mirrors Harmon Kardon cd/radio self-dimming mirror 50 / 50 weight distribution unaltered, totally OEM angel eye headlights non-smoking owner (never smoked in) ADULT DRIVEN ***NOTE: after belonging to a high end car club in NYC (driving porsche, ferrari, etc etc) I drove this and was amazed at what a true sports car it is, how perfectly balanced, but how docile when driven as a daily driver. In short ,it was perfect and I had to buy one. And did. Now that kids have entered the picture and I barely drive it I must part ways... ** - paint in excellent shape. Was in an accident last year where a deer ran into the right front quarter panel and (as I was driving) then hit a number of other panels. Damage relatively minor (nothing structural) and panels replaced with all OEM parts. Repair work done by reputable auto body shop. Headlight was cracked and I was able to finagle a left one to match as well. So both are brand new. porsche caymen 911 honda s2000 m3 m5 x1 x6 m6 x5 x6m x5m alfa romeo mercedes amg subaru nissan infiniti 350z 370z hatch 5-door 3-door audi s4 s3 s5 lexus lotus exige track day WRX hatch

The 2016 Pebble Beach Concept Lawn was nuts as always
Mon, Aug 22 2016The Concept Lawn at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance is like the smallest, most expensive car show you can imagine. A bunch of unobtanium concepts and almost-production models line an irregularly shaped putting green for people to stare at while on their way to see other, older insane cars. This year's crop was a particularly good one. We'll walk through the gallery above in order: That's a new Ford GT. Not quite a concept, but it's not in production yet, so we'll let it slide. Then there's the one-of-a-kind Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo that was recently bought by a Saudi Prince along with a matching Chiron. Next up is the Lamborghini Centenario Roadster, which was unveiled last week and is already sold out. This orange automobile is BMW's 2002 Hommage with its latest livery, a Jagermeister-themed affair called Turbomeister. This silver Infiniti, the Q80 Inspiration Concept, is an oldie but a goodie. It first appeared in Paris in 2014. The extremely long automobile after that is the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6, which was unveiled in Monterey this year. The 6 in the name is because it's 6 meters, or about 18 feet, long. Most of that's the hood. Next we have the one-of-99 Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato coupe, which continues to be beautiful. After that is a Fisker Karma with a V8, the VLF Destino. Thank you, Bob Lutz. The black sedan you see after that is the Cadillac Escala Concept, which also made its debut in Monterey this year. Then we have a Rolls-Royce Wraith Black Badge. Not a concept, but exclusive enough to join the others. Next is the McLaren 570GT customized by MSO that arrived for Pebble 2016. It has special design touches plus an electrochromic panel to replace the normal glass roof. The light blue car is the Genesis New York concept. The name didn't change even though it was in Monterey. Then we have the large and in charge Lincoln Navigator concept, taking up two regulation concept spots. The red car with suicide doors is Acura's Precision Concept, which we first saw at the Detroit show this year. Another non-concept, the Lexus LC 500h at least looks futuristic enough to be a show-specific car. And here's a 2017 Maserati Quattroporte, which is definitely not a concept. A Bentley Mulsanne EWB, because why not? It's not available in the US, so that almost qualifies for concept status. Then there's a reproduction Lister Knobbly, which we could stare at all day.
BMW may keep next 1 Series out of the US
Tue, 07 May 2013As BMW prepares to introduce the all-new 2 Series coupe and convertible, the 1 Series name definitely won't be going away. We know new sedan and hatchback models are in the works; including the GT shown above. According to Car and Driver, though, the future of the 1 Series nameplate in the US could be dependent on rival premium small cars like the Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class and Audi A3.
In an interview with C/D, BMW's North American head of product planning and strategy, Paul Ferraiolo, said that pricing might be the biggest deterrent to offering the third-gen 1 Series in the US. As he points out, BMW currently prices the 1 not too far from the 3 Series, but Mercedes-Benz and Audi will have their new small cars priced well below the $30,000 mark. BMW's Mini brand will also factor into the consideration since the 1 GT will share its underpinnings with the next-gen Cooper lineup.
There's no substitution for BMW's E30 Mmmmm3
Mon, 17 Jun 2013If you told someone that you had a friend with a four-cylinder BMW who "would let me wash the car," and in exchange for the privilege then let you drive that clean BMW once around the block, your first question would probably be "What kind of BMW is this?" There's a chance you wouldn't be surprised once you found out the coupe in question was the E30 M3, a car our own Zach Bowman dubbed the "Mmmmm3."
Petrolicious talks to Gabor Mester about the car he fell in love with, a black version of the original "Munich mauler" that was owned by the parents of a high-school friend - oh, and Mester was also in high school when this washing and driving took place. When the original owners were ready to sell, Mestor was ready to buy, and he hasn't had a single regret about it since.
You can enjoy his story in his words in the video below.
