Now is your chance to own a beautiful Sterling Gray Metallic 2002 BMW M5 for a great price!
136K miles on it.
The M5 interior is in excellent shape, everything wrapped in black leather all the way down to the door sills, Italian stitching across, grey Alcantara suede covers the roof and along the a,b, and c pillars, light wood burl accents, grey gauges that light up golden with the classic BMW orange ambient lights throughout.
Exterior is awesome as well, deep granite paint with the flat black accents including the kidney grill (the original chrome grill is included). 18" OEM "Ghost spoke" offset rims and quad exhaust. People cannot believe it is a 2002.
This car is stock, never raced, no crazy upgrades, and very classy...

Runs so strong with its 4.9L V-8 pushing 394 HP through the 6-speed manual gear box. So fast, so much low-end torque. This a favorite of car enthusiasts and the M5 has a superb reputation.
Very good maintenance performed, most of it at the dealer, and then La Jolla Independent BMW. Pre-sale inspection found no major mechanical issues, you are welcome to contact them, or take it to your own mechanic .
I am so sad to have to sell, but I do not have the room for three cars, so you should love it instead.
The M5 is in great shape for 136k miles, but in the spirit of full disclosure I will tell you the issues that I have found. They are pretty standard issues for a BMW and for the age; Minor curb-rash, minor front bumper scrapes & small rock chips, AC very cold and heat hot, but AC likes to default back to auto-mode instead of staying on the feet or top of dash mode, auto-tint rear view mirror permanently in "tint-mode", weeping power-steering hoses need top off every 1000 miles, missing pixels in dash but still able to read everything just fine, and a very minor squeak in the belt tensioner can sometimes be heard at idle, but otherwise the M5 is incredibly strong and the issues do not diminish performance or comfort...
Here are some highlights and maintenance that has been performed-
• Band new tires & alignment (rears this month, fronts replaced in Nov.)
• 2003 Sat-Nav Professionally installed
• iPod Dice connector installed with 6-disc changer included with car
• 3-Keys
• Professional Tint (limo in the rear, but lighter up front so you won't get pulled over)
• Professional front headlight restoration
• New floor mats
• New M5 rear emblem (nice and bright)
• New shift boot and weighted OEM Z-shift knob for cleaner shorter throws.
• New exterior window rubber along front and back
• Replaced entire front end (control arms, thrust arms, tie rods, and all the bushings)
• Replaced center bearing for tighter performance along drive shaft
• Full 100k tune-up including new plugs, filters, and thermostat
• Clutch and Flex in excellent condition
• New window regulators, new Sunroof Kit installed
• 2 Cam sensors, airbag & seat belt sensors, and hood sensors replaced
• AC control and resistor replaced
• Belts and PCV hoses replaced
• Replaced Battery
• Just smogged in March
As you can see, many of the normal BMW failures and maintenance issues have already been corrected. This car is ready to go, (although I do not hold the title, I still owe to the credit union). But, I am very motivated to sell and will work with you. I just leased a new car so I need to sell as soon as possible and no reasonable offer will be denied!

2014 BMW X5
Wed, 18 Sep 2013Is Better Than Ever Still Good Enough?
By now, all but the staunchest of traditionalists have moved past the shock and horror of seeing their favorite automotive brands branching into categories and segments that break with their previously accepted norms. In other words, you and I don't really care all that much if the BMW M3 is powered by an inline six or a V8, or whether it boasts a turbocharger, just so long as the end result is an awesome car. Similarly, we don't get all hot under the collar seeing that same M3 share space on the showroom floor with a brace of SUVs and crossovers... or, as BMW continues to insist, Sports Activity Vehicles.
Time, as they say, heals all wounds, and the BMW X5 has been around long enough, having first seen the light of day in 1999, that anyone offended by its existence has since gotten over it. Plus, the X5 is a legitimately nice vehicle to drive, offering such desirable qualities to family men and women as seating for up to seven, all-wheel drive and a commandingly tall view of the road. For the enthusiast set, the X5 serves up a taut chassis and powerful engine options.
Thermal imagery of BMW M4 DTM pit stop is red hot
Wed, 28 May 2014A pit stop is a pit stop, right? The race car pulls in, the crew changes the tires, pumps in some fuel, maybe swaps out a busted body panel or squeegees the windshield, and off it goes for another heat. Only pit stops have become the focus of news lately for a number of reasons, whether it's because of mishaps (like the ones that prompted F1 to ban mid-race refueling), new time records (due largely to said ban) or interesting new ways to film the fast-paced action.
A few weeks ago we brought you footage of an IndyCar pit stop filmed from multiple angles courtesy of Google Glass. Now BMW has released a brief clip of one of its M4 DTM racers coming in for fresh rubber, all filmed by infrared camera. Its the kind of technology BMW uses to help optimize its German touring cars for competition, and now the Bavarian outfit has released some footage for fans to enjoy.
The resulting thermal imagery gives you an idea of how hot the car runs (and where the heat is emanating from), how warm they get the fresh rubber before they get it onto the car, and what kind of temperatures the pit crew is subjected to. Look closely enough in the 25-second video below and you'll even see the heat sputtering out of the exhaust pipes as the M4 downshifts into its pit box. (Just don't try adjusting your speakers, the clip is without audio.)
BMW expounds on i8 design and performance in new videos
Fri, 03 Jan 2014At this point, there isn't much we don't know about the 2015 BMW i8, so BMW is starting to focus its attention on reassuring consumers that the future of BMW won't abandon the past. In these two recently released videos, BMW answers questions prospective buyers might have about about the new model's design and performance.
In the design video, BMW explains how the i8's styling is intended to be practical, with aerodynamics and fuel efficiency in mind, yet still have a sporty and dynamic look. The performance video aims to show that the plug-in hybrid can be fuel efficient while still delivering plenty of performance, and it shows an animation about how the i8's drive systems work together. Scroll down to watch both videos on this bold green supercar.
