2008 Bmw M5 Base Sedan 4-door on 2040-cars
Madison, New Jersey, United States
Up for sale is my fantastic LOADED 2008 BMW M5. INCLUDES Warranty! I purchased this and a Platinum Level Warranty from Safe-Guard, in January 2016, with 58777 miles on it. It now has a whopping 64,xxx miles! My family has made a move and the in laws now live with us. The car essentially sits in the dedicated 1 car garage. I work from home and travel to airport. I do not even bring this to the airport, I have a older VW for airport parking. In the end, I cannot afford to simply have this car in the garage and would rather sell to someone who will be able to enjoy this more regularly than I can. I also have 3 kids, so even when we do go out, 3 kids in the back is no fun when they argue and fight (not that they ever do that! ha). It comes with the warranty which covers you for 36 months or 36,000 miles - which ever comes first. Warranty went into effect @ 58,377 miles on 2-09-16. It is a Platinum level contract that cost me $4,687.00 - so keep that in mind. I can transfer it, or simply terminate it and get a pro-rated refund. I have used the warranty already actually, in May of this year. Here are the details: Replaced Rear Differential Pinion Seat. Flushed and Filled the Rear Diff Fluid. Both Front Lower Control Arms and Bushings were replaced. Alignment done as well. Lastly, this is a Manufacturer Buy Back - due to Loss of Power. I have spoke to BMW before I bought this car and they said frankly, when someone buys a BMW, and they file this type of claim, they simply buy it back, run through it and resell. As you will see with the carfax, nothing has been done to this car. First owner was a lease for 4 years, then 2nd owner, likely had remorse back and got it bought back. This was due to a lack of power - something I have not experienced. At all.. Not sure how these buy backs work, each Car Maker is different, I have had BMW is quite liberal when it comes to buy backs. 3rd owner was military and got deployed. Spent life in TX and CA, so no rust or any harsh elements. PPI are welcome - I can assist with that as well. With a warranty like this, anything that might even go wrong, will be covered. M does stand for MONEY after all - but the piece of mind is priceless.. As is the acceleration and power. This M is LOADED and has every feature available! HUD, Heated/Cooled seats, Navigation, Power Rear Shade, Active Seats and on and on.. All 4 tires are new and less than 2000 miles on them. Oil change in May, Rear Differential Fluid flushed. 4 new Michelin Pilots Email me with any questions. Thanks! The list of options includes: MSRP $100,805.00 *Silverston Metallic Exterior *Black Perforated Full Leather *Aluminum Interior trim *Universal Garage door opener *Satellite Radio *Tire Pressure monitor *SMG transmission *Moonroof *Ipod and USB adapter *Adaptive light control *Navigation *Real time traffic *Voice command *Xenon headlights *BMW assist with bluetooth *Active seat width adjustment *Power rear shades and manual side shades *Auto dimming mirrors *Retractable headlight washers *Comfort access keyless entry *Multi function seats with lumbar *Park distance control *Enhanced premium sound system *Heated/Vented Front seats *Soft close doors *Heads up display *Rear spoiler *Split fold down rear seat *Automatic high beams *Rear side-impact airbags *Heated rear seats *HD radio

Is BMW ready to increase i8 production?
Fri, Nov 21 2014The BMW i8 plug-in hybrid is really fast. But the car is getting to customers really slowly. The German automaker might be doing something about that. Bimmer executive Ian Robertson, speaking with reports at the Los Angeles Auto Show this week, commented on the high demand for the super-PHEV and said the company may step up production in Germany, Automotive News Europe says. That's because the wait list for the i8 is approaching 18 months in some global markets. And Robertson would like to get that timeframe down to about six months. No details were disclosed about how fast the i8 is being produced or how much faster that production rate may get. The i8, which retails for about $135,000, started sales in Europe in June and in the US two months later. As for the smaller, slower i3 electric vehicle, BMW is making about 2,000 units a month, and wait lists are down to about four months. Part of the reason for that is because BMW shifted distribution rates for that model towards the US to meet higher-than-expected demand from stateside consumers and slow German sales. Through the end of October in the US, BMW had sold almost 4,300 i3 vehicles and 271 i8 models, including 204 i8 units last month alone.
Check out the trick way you access the tire valve on this BMW Alpina B6
Wed, 22 Oct 2014The wheels are one of the first things you notice when checking out the 2015 BMW Alpina B6 xDrive Gran Coupe. The 20-inch aluminum alloy rollers have 21 spokes that spray out from their hubs, creating one of Alpina's signature design features. But there's also plenty of function to go along with the stylistic form of this hotted-up BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe.
By rotating the Alpina roundel and unlocking the center hub, you gain access to the tire valve and bolts, which are hidden inside. They're literally kept under lock and key, and they protect your Alpina's wheels from the elements and theft. This unique center-fill system employing a hollow spoke isn't a new setup for the favored BMW tuner, but since Autoblog had one in our offices this week, we thought we'd take the opportunity to show the unique mechanism in case you haven't seen it before. Check it out in our brief video below.
Reverse-engineering i3 shows BMW profits after 20,000 sales
Tue, Jan 6 2015"This is, without a question of a doubt, the most advanced vehicle on the planet. It's as revolutionary as the Model T was when it came out." That is exceptionally high praise, and it's not even being heaped on one of the million-dollar hybrid hypercars from Ferrari or McLaren. It's not even being attributed to a particularly zealous Tesla fan. Nope, it's coming from a mustachioed man in suburban Detroit, and he's discussing a $42,400 BMW hatchback with Forbes. Of course, said hatchback is the revolutionary i3, and Sandy Munro's statements carry some degree of authority, as his company is tearing apart and analyzing every little nut, washer and bolt on the four-seat EV. Munro's eponymous company performs reverse-engineering analysis, meaning they rip apart brand new cars and sell the information to the world's automakers, saving OEM's both time and money. The most interesting thing it has discovered thus far? That even with the high costs of two of the i3's most important elements – carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic and lithium-ion batteries – his company's analysis shows that BMW need only sell about 20,000 units a year to turn a profit, Forbes reports. While Munro's company is often contracted by automakers, he's gone it alone on the i3 project, dropping about $1 million into in-depth analysis. That's a lot of money, but the company should be able to turn around and sell its findings for about $500,000, with a batch of Chinese automakers already queued up and ready to buy. Analysis of individual i3 components will also be available from a sort of a la carte menu. To see what it is about the i3 that has Munro speaking so highly of it, head over to the Forbes website and check out the feature article and video on the reverse-engineering process.
