2007 Bmw M5 Base Sedan 4-door 5.0l on 2040-cars
Portland, Oregon, United States
500HP 207MPH BMW M5! This car is a ridiculous amount of fun. It's in excellent shape with very low
miles. This car has virtually every
option that was available on it. The ones that were most important to me are: - Paddle Shifting, 7 Speed SMG Transmission - Bluetooth/Phone Integration - Navigation - Ipod integration - Aux jack - Air conditioned seats - Heated seats - Parking Distance sensors and on screen radar - Fighter jet style seats - the seats can be put into a
mode with power support where they compensate to keep you in the seat as you
drive around corners quickly. - M Button - This may be the coolest feature on the
car. You push the button and it adds
100HP, puts the seats in fighter jet mode, and turns on the electronic
suspension dampening. The car's had all scheduled maintenance and all records
are available. All work has either been
done through the BMW dealer or the highest rated auto shop in Portland. It has a new battery, new spark plugs, a new
alternator, and of course, new oil, filters, etc. It has not been smoked in, never been driven
in snow, and is in perfect shape. Full disclosure:
The car is in excellent condition, no accidents of any kind, but as is
the case with any car there are a few small issues and I want to be upfront
about them. Two of the rims have a scuff
on it, there are a couple of small scuffs on the bumper, a scratch on the
trunk, and the driver side wing mirrors only tilts up about 90% of the
way. It hasn't been a problem for me but
if you're taller than 6'3" it could be.
I am happy to either get all these things fixed before you buy it or
give you $1000 off the price. I was nervous about buying a M5 from individual so I can
certainly understand if you are. I would
be happy to split the cost of an escrow service if you'd like. I am also happy to help you ship it anywhere
in the country. Let me know if you have
any questions. Thanks! |

Toyota-BMW sports car to gain all-wheel drive, supercapacitors?
Mon, 24 Mar 2014Sales of salt are skyrocketing following the latest rumor of the planned joint-venture sports car from Toyota and BMW. The whisperings indicate that project will spawn both a replacement for the BMW Z4 and a long-awaited Toyota Supra successor based on the FT-1 Concept shown above. Word is that the new cars will feature front-engine, all-wheel-drive layouts with plug-in hybrid technology. This news would appear to run somewhat counter to earlier reports that BMW and Toyota are teaming for a six-figure hybrid supercar.
According to Autocar, the project will benefit from the experience Toyota gained with the TS030, its hybridized Le Mans prototype. The evidence for this is, of all things, a Toyota Yaris - in particular, the Yaris Hybrid R that was shown at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show last September. That car used a 300-horsepower, 1.6-liter gas engine, while a pair of 60-horsepower electric motors provided all-wheel-drive push (an additional motor also sent additional juice to the front axle). The 414-system-horsepower drivetrain used supercapacitors in place of the traditional lithium-ion batteries of traditional hybrids.
For the production sports cars, Autocar claims that the Yaris Hybrid R's setup will serve as the basis for the new powertrain, although it won't be a direct carryover. Instead, a 2.0-liter BMW engine will be paired with Toyota-designed, BMW-built motors.
2015 BMW M3 squares off against Alpina D3 in gas vs. diesel throwdown
Sat, 26 Jul 2014There was a time when diesel meant one of two things: This vehicle's owner either wants to save some money at the pump or needs to haul massive loads. It definitely did not mean that the owner of said machine wanted to drive fast, but that perception has slowly but surely been changing over the last several years, with automakers from Volkswagen and Ford to Audi and BMW offering spiced-up versions of their high-compression, turbocharged diesels.
It's that last automaker we mentioned that's the subject of the video you'll see down below. One bright-blue BMW M3 was procured by the Brits at Autocar, and it was lined up against a deep-black Alpina D3 (which we sadly can't buy in the US) in a spate of tests, including acceleration, stopping, sound and lap times on a closed circuit. The results, which we won't spoil for you, were enlightening, and were followed up by personal impressions from the man behind the wheel.
We know you're curious. All it takes to find out which of these 3.0-liter, twin-turbo-powered 3 Series variants came out on top is to scroll down below and watch. You know what to do.
BMW looking to save billions with cost cuts
Wed, 18 Jun 2014BMW is planning a fairly extensive overhaul in a bid to recoup some its annual costs, with CEO Norbert Reithofer (pictured above) aiming to save three to four billion euro ($4 to $5.4 billion) per year to help keep the company's profit margins between eight and 10 percent, while also maintaining investments in production expansion and new tech. BMW's profit margins sat at 9.4 percent in 2013.
According to Automotive News Europe, Reithofer is none too pleased about costs at Mini and on the 1 Series, although neither AN nor its source story, from Germany's Manager Magazin, elaborate on what steps could be taken to improve losses on either project. That makes it hard to figure out just where the fat will be trimmed from.
What may happen, though, is that BMW attempts to trim 100 million euros ($135 million) from its German labor costs each year; a solution hinted at a few weeks ago by Germany newspaper Muenchner Merkur. While a dramatic cost reduction, 100 million euros still doesn't begin to even approach the savings envisioned by Reithofer.
