I bought this car recently for my wife from the 2nd owner who had the car since it had around 10k miles. I bought the car thinking the SMG transmission would be a good for someone who can't drive a manual transmission but she just hasn't got used to driving it and we will probably be looking for a normal automatic BMW. It has always been garage kept since the day it was new. All the maintenance is up to date. When I got the car I took it to the local BMW dealer and the only thing it needed was the brake fluid flushed as a preventative maintenance. The car runs, drives and looks great and has obviously been taken care of. The tires have less than 5k miles on them. There is a scuff on each of the front wheels and a minor imperfection on the left rear fender well. Except for the few minor flaws the car is in excellent condition. Everything works and there is no known issues with the car. It has the following factory options:
-heads up display
-heated and cooled front seats
-heated rear seats
-multi function seats
-rear electric sun shade
-fold down rear seats
-satellite radio
-black perforated leather
I have both keys, original window sticker and all the original owners manuals. I bought this car in April for $28,000 plus I paid $1500 to have it shipped from North Carolina. I am hoping to get close to what I have in the car. The auction being set at no reserve so high bid gets it. I would be willing to end the auction early if I could get close to getting back what I have in the car. I would be more than happy to let you test drive the car if you happen to be close. Feel free to call with any questions you may have.

BMW 3 Series set for mild facelift

Fri, 28 Mar 2014

The latest BMW 3 Series is pretty new, right? Well it's been on the market for the better part of three years now. And on a typical six-year production cycle, that means it's halfway through its life. It only makes sense, then, that BMW should be preparing a little mid-life facelift, and that's just what we appear to be looking at in these latest spy shots.
The changes will likely be minimal when the revised 3 Series debuts sometime in the middle of next year, with the visual changes to the exterior centering around a new front bumper. New lighting front and rear may also be part of the package, and you can also expect some updates to the interior while those Bavarian engineers are at it. Take a closer look in the gallery of high-res spy shots above for an idea of what to expect.

2014 BMW X5 recalled over faulty child-safety locks

Tue, 27 May 2014

BMW is set to recall some 6,400 of its new-for-2014 X5 SUVs built between December 12, 2013 and March 10, 2014 due to concerns that the child safety locks, if set, might deactivate without warning. The problem affects only those vehicles with the automatic soft-closing option.
According to the bulletin issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the lock mechanism on the rear doors "may not have been manufactured to correct tolerances," meaning the safety locks could disengage with a simple pull of the door handle. Basically, with a pair of tugs, the rear doors could be opened from the inside, regardless of child safety locks.
BMW is in the process of notifying owners of affected vehicles. Any necessary repairs will be conducted free of charge. Take a look below for the official press release from NHTSA.

BMW discussing new plant with Mexican authorities

Mon, 19 Aug 2013

Drawn in by low wages and manufacturing costs, BMW could be the next automaker to set up a manufacturing facility in Mexico. Automotive News is reporting that the German automaker has had discussions with local Mexican governments regarding a possible assembly plant, but there is no word as to when a decision may come down. Last we heard, BMW was reportedly looking to build the 3 Series in Mexico.
A key determining factor for this new plant is a free-trade agreement between the US and Europe, which according to the article, would give BMW better "flexibility and cost structure" to open another plant in North America. In terms of luxury automakers, Audi is currently building a new plant in Mexico and Mercedes-Benz is considering opening one in conjunction with Nissan for the CLA-Class, and in the bigger picture, Honda and Mazda are also preparing to kick off vehicle production in Mexico.
