2001 BMW e39 M5 Sedan
I bought this M5 from a BMW a few months ago so it has had the BMW Pre-certified inspection done. I need to sell this automobile due to a layoff last week. I have put less than 900 miles on the vehicle since I have owned it. This M5 has been garage kept and has not been driven in the snow, so it has not seen any salt or sand. It runs extremely well, shifts great and has fantastic acceleration. While I have owned it I have never abused it nor did any drag racing with it. It is adult driven and is a non-smoker automobile.
There are some minor dings and blemishes on the vehicle and one wheel has a few paint chips (please refer to the photos), but these items were present when I purchased it form the dealer. There is a UUC clutch in the M5 which causes it to "rattle" with warm and in neural, but this is the nature of the beast.
This M5 came with the following options:
394 HP V8 engine
6-speed manual transmission
Carbon Black Metallic exterior
Black leather interior with wood grain highlights
Heated seats (front)
Rear fold down seats
Floor mats
Motorola phone
Premium stereo system
Navigation system (with CD)
CD player with capacity of holding 6 disks
Tilting side mirrors
Complete BMW manual set
Two sets of keys
Added to the M5
Escort Passport SR1 RADAR detector (previous owner)
UUC clutch and pressure plate (installed by previous owner)
Custom pin-stripping, (previous owner)
New Continental Extreme Conti DWS tires
New Protective exterior coating ($1095.00 cost)
The bank holds the title, hence, a bank check will have to be submitted to the bank where the loan is located in order for them to release the lien. The price of the 2001 M5 is firm (no negotiations), and the price that I set for the automobile is much less than what I paid for it. Therefore, serious inquires only.
Thank you for your interest in this M5.

BMW almost ready to roll out new 2 Series cabriolet
Thu, 05 Jun 2014The 2 Series is a relatively new member of the BMW family, having been spun off of the 1 Series (itself one of the company's youngest lines) just last year. So far the range has been split between the Active Tourer and the 2 Series Coupe, but soon the latter will breed a new compact convertible to take the place of the outgoing 1 Series cabriolet, and here we have our best look at it yet.
Spied with the most minimal camouflage and its top down while undergoing its final rounds of development testing, this pre-production 2 Series cabrio looks about ready for show time. While the Active Tourer is based on a different front-drive platform, this convertible is, as you might have guessed, essentially a 2 Series Coupe with a folding fabric roof. That means rear-wheel drive (or potentially all-wheel drive if BMW extends its availability from the coupe to the convertible) win either 228i or M235i specification - both of them turbocharged, the former with a 240-horsepower, 2.0-liter four and the latter with the 320-hp, 3.0-liter inline-six.
Considering that BMW got an approximately $8k premium for the 1 Series convertible over the coupe, expect the 2 Series cabrio to start at a little over $40k for the 228i and top out at around $53k for the M235i xDrive convertible. That is, assuming BMW offers it in that top spec, because at that rate we're getting perilously close to the $54,900 base price of the 435i convertible.
M-thusiast pops the question at BMW Welt
Tue, 02 Sep 2014We've seen all manner of marriage proposals over the years, but our favorites, of course, revolve around cars. One guy proposed to his girlfriend at a traffic stop, another during an autocross event, while yet another got dozens of Mazda MX-5 owners together to spell "Marry Me?" in Miatas. This latest proposal, however, put the M in Marriage as only a BMW enthusiast could.
While visiting BMW Welt in Munich, Bachir from Lebanon rolled out in a new blue M3 and got down on one knee in front of the gathered crowds to pop the question to Layal, his girlfriend of one year.
We'll let you watch the clip for yourself to see how it went, but suffice it to say that she was delighted. The couple plan to drive to the church in a procession of M cars for what promises to be a high-octane ceremony in their home country.
Consumer Reports' first motorcycle reliability report finds Japanese brands ahead
Sat, 22 Feb 2014Consumer Reports has released its first ever study of motorcycle reliability, and students of its ratings on cars might notice a suspicious similarity - Japanese brands require fewer repairs than the leading American or German brands.
The study analyzed the reliability of 4,680 bikes owned by CR subscribers and found that Yamaha had the best ratings, with just one in ten bikes built between 2009 and 2012 requiring a repair over a four-year period. The makers of the R1 and R6 sport bikes were closely followed by Kawasaki and Honda, while one out of every four of the rumbling bikes from Harley-Davidson experienced an issue. BMW had the worst rating of the brands represented, with one in three bikes having problems.
According to CR, neither Suzuki nor Triumph owners provided enough information for a reliable rating. Based on the responses received, though, Suzuki would have finished with the other Japanese brands and Triumph, being English, would have been one of the less reliable makes.
