2000 Bmw M5 Base Sedan 4-door 5.0l on 2040-cars
North Las Vegas, Nevada, United States
I am selling my BMW M5 because I have too many vehicles right now and need the space. The car is in great condition, it does have wear but for its age it is in great condition. The mileage on the car is 179,XXX. I am keeping the car parked till it sells so the picture has the correct mileage. The Vanos units don't leak and function properly. The car pulls very strong through the gears. The clutch functions properly as well. This is a 2000 so it does consume oil but no more than what is considered in spec by BMW. It does have the occasional P0411 code but it is intermittent, I'm not sure what is causing the code but probably the carbon build up in the system. There is an aftermarket ECU that will ignore the code. I did not have any problems with emissions since it is intermittent. The car will show an accident on a CARFAX but the damage was minor and the bumper was replaced with an OEM and repainted; the pics show the damage. The neighbor backed into it. I really hate to sell the car but need the space.
There is no reserve. New parts thermostat and seal new bushings in the rear subframe all 7 rear control arms polyurethane bushings in the front control arms repaired the rearview mirror new tires on the front bad intermittent check engine light (see above) rear tires will need replacement soon |

BMW M3 and M4 CSL not in the cards
Mon, 27 Jan 2014We aren't sure whether to file this one under "good news" or "bad news." BMW confirmed to Top Gear that there "are no plans" for lightweight versions of the new M3 and M4, in the same vein as the E46 M3 CSL (despite rumors to the contrary). The reason?
"There wasn't a CSL on the previous generation, and the way we look at it is like this: the CSL was great because it had this real focus on lightweight engineering. But we've already done that with these new cars. We've made them as light as possible - they come in under 1500 kilograms (3,306 pounds), which for a car like this is incredible," said Matt Collins, BMW's product manager for small to medium cars.
Now, as much as we love the idea of a hardcore version of any car, we appreciate BMW's point of view that the newest Ms are already as light and tough as they need to be. Collins elaborated, saying, "Rather than doing a halfway house to begin with and then rolling out a CSL, we thought we'd make the 'real' car as light as we possibly could. So we've no plans whatsoever to make a lighter, harder version just yet."
BMW i8 wins 2015 Car Of The Year award in UK
Sat, Feb 28 2015Those Brits sure do like those Bimmers, don't they? The BMW i8 plug-in hybrid was recently awarded UK Car of the Year from a group of more than two-dozen British automotive journalists, UK's Telegraph reported. Last year's winner of the first-ever such award? The BMW i3 electric vehicle. The i8 was feted for its combination of performance, styling and fuel efficiency. The car pairs a three-cylinder gas engine with a 96-horsepower electric motor and can go from 0-60 miles per hour in just over four seconds while having a fuel-economy rating of 76 MPGe. Last November, the i8 was given Autoblog's 2014 Technology of the Year award and the 2015 Luxury Green Car of the Year by Green Car Journal, so the British journalists are not alone in their sleek PHEV love. "This is a truly great honor for BMW's visionary car and proof that sustainable mobility can be beautiful and fun," BMW spokesman Kenn Sparks told AutoblogGreen. Other winners for individual categories from the UK this year included the Rolls-Royce Ghost (which won for Best Luxury Car), Ford Mondeo (Best Family Car) and Renault Twingo (Best City Car).
