Rare RED (Zinnoberrot) 1989 BMW E30 M3 with a 6 in line E36 S52 TURBO Engine making 500 whp on pump gas capable of making 600-625 whp on ms108 race fuel Sad to see her go but starting a business and some of the toys must go. I will also be listing an 1970 Mazda R100 as well should anyone be interested. I have put lots of time and money in it and have treated her right. That being said please do not contact me low balling me. While I believe this car is a good example of an E30 M3 please keep in mind that it is 25 years old and as such has its bumps and bruises. I encourage all serious bidders to email Car runs great with no issues, gets stored in the winters and is only used in the summer. All VIN numbers match (has a rebuild tittle and OEM parts) The history report a claim made and it was from the previous owner that got the car stole and engine was taken. BMW wants to build electric SUV in the US
Tue, Jun 9 2015Tesla needs to watch its back. The all-electric Model X hasn't even hit the market yet and already, luxury competitors are gearing up to combat it. Audi is prepping an all-electric concept for Frankfurt that previews a Model X-fighting CUV, and now BMW is allegedly prepping a third member of its i sub-brand, in the form of an American-built, all-electric crossover. Germany's Wirtschaftswoche claims the plan is awaiting board approval for production in Spartanburg, where BMW already builds the entirety of its X lineup. BMW, for its part, has told Automotive News Europe that the report is simply "speculation." Speculation or no, we agree with Evercore ISI analyst Arndt Ellinghorst, who told Automotive News that adding a crossover to the i family is a logical move. "In our view an iSUV makes perfect sense for BMW. SUVs are in demand and given the market's reaction to Tesla's Model X so far, it seems to be a good fit for families and suburban commuters." While Audi is preparing to offer its Model X fighter by 2018, though, Ellinghorst told AN not to expect BMW's entry to the segment before then.
BMW details cheaper, sub-M performance cars for young 'brand ambassadors'
Tue, 11 Feb 2014BMW's M cars are undoubtedly some of the best sport sedans in the world. Unfortunately, their prices put them out of the reach of a huge segment of buyers, many of them young. However, that might change in the near future as BMW launches its M Performance Automobiles performance sub-brand, positioned between its standard cars and the full M models.
Traditionally, M car buyers have been male and in their early-40s, according to Oliver Ganser, product strategy manager for BMW North America, speaking to Automotive News. However with MPA, BMW hopes to find even younger buyers "who will be brand ambassadors and appeal to the real enthusiasts that we have," he said. These new MPA models will see a mild boost in power and handling from off-the-shelf parts, instead of the unique engines and cutting-edge tech from their bigger M brothers.
The M Performance Automobiles line was launched last March at the Geneva Motor Show with high-performance diesel models of the 5 Series, X5 and X6. The first of the MPA models coming Stateside, the M235i, launches in March. We liked it when we drove it in January, but the $44,000 base price is still a bit steep. If it proves to be a success, we will see more of them, and if not, then it'll go down as another failed experiment, like the 318ti hatchback.
