Up for NO RESERVE auction I have my Carbon Black 2002 BMW M3 Convertible.  Car runs really strong and shifts extremely quick and smooth as it should.  Shows very well for the mileage it has.  Has typical wear that any car this old has.  This car is equipped with the SMG (Sequential Manual Gearbox).  So it can be used in fully automatic or manual without clutch.  It does have the Harmon Kardon Sound System as well, but the passenger side speaker might need some work.  Everything is power and everything that is power works flawlessly.  The "Service Engine Soon" light is on due to a bad O2 sensor.  Because of this the car cannot be smogged in California, so it is only for sale out of state.  The trunk at times will act up and not open, but that is rare.  Also, both headlights work great, but there must be a short somewhere in the wiring and you have to turn the lights on and off to get them both on at times.  Other then these little things that do not effect the drivability this car is amazing.  I do not want to sell this car, but I have to because I recently moved out and need the money for financial reasons.  It is definitely a head turner and a daily driver.  Here is a list of what is done to the vehicle.

3.2L //M Power Straight 6
333bhp.
262 ft/lbs of Torque.
TEIN 1.5" S-Tech Lowering Springs.
Cross-Drilled/Slotted Rotors (Caused Break Sensor light to come on)
12MM Hubcentric Wheel Spacers On Front
Tinted Tail Lights
Black Side-Markers
Stock 18" Wheels Painted White.
Bridgestone Potenza Tires with less then 3000 miles.
Blacked Out Corner Lights.
Aftermarket Fog Light Housing.
All Emblems (excluding rear) are Carbon Fiber including Steering Wheel
White/Grey/Black
M3 Wheel Stickers Also White/Grey/Black
Matching Euro Plate in Front.
Replaced water pump & thermostat @ 120K
Replaced alternator @ 125K
Oil and Filter recently changed.

AGAIN, THIS VEHICLE IS NOT FOR SALE IN CALIFORNIA DUE TO SMOG.  FOR MORE INFORMATION MESSAGE ME, PLEASE DO NOT BID IF FROM CALIFORNIA.  If your looking at this ad, you already know quite a bit about this car.  It really is wonderful to drive and one of the greatest sports cars to date.  If you have any questions feel free to ask.  Thanks for looking!

Rinspeed issues its Budii call for Geneva [w/video]

Tue, Feb 17 2015

Of all the concepts prepared every year for the Geneva Motor Show, those made by Rinspeed are typically the most outlandish and forward-thinking. And this is the latest from Frank Rinderknecht and company. Though Rinspeed's been known to build entirely original vehicles from the ground up, it tends to base its creations on production models: Following the Tesla-based XchangE from last year, the Smart-based Dock+Go of 2012, the Fiat-based E2 from 2009 and the Lotus-based sQuba in 2007, the new Budii concept is based on the BMW i3. That means, of course, that it's powered by electricity, but the technology demonstrator is focused more on autonomous driving tech. The Budii incorporates a periscopic camera and laser scanner to map the terrain and the road ahead from above, and a drive-by-wire steering system that allows the steering wheel on an articulated column to be passed between driver and passenger or tucked out of the way to let the electronics take over. Once unburdened of the task of driving, the occupants can enjoy the proliferation of touchscreens, the "wellness shower" (whatever that is) installed in the headliner, the automatic watch-winder on the steering column and the interior accoutrements furnished by Mansory. The whole thing rides on a lowered suspension with 19-inch Borbet alloys, with a rainbow Knight Rider-style grille in the nose. But to appreciate the full scope of the consortium of suppliers that collaborated with Rinspeed to bring the Budii to life, you'll want to delve into the press release after the video below and scope out the dozens of high-resolution images in the slideshow above. 2015 Geneva Motor Show: Rinspeed "Budii" redefines human-machine interaction Reach out to robots The vision of autonomous driving will soon become reality and will fundamentally change the interaction of man and automobiles. While the research centers of the automotive industry are still feverishly working on the technical solutions, progressive thinkers such as the Swiss idea factory Rinspeed are already giving concrete thought to how automated private transport will transform the car and the man-machine system. Besides fundamental conceptual changes, this will also have to involve issues of ethics and society. In the past, the robots in the factories of this world merely assembled cars for people. Watch Atieva's electric van outrun a BMW i8 and Dodge Viper

Mon, Aug 8 2016

A little while back, automotive startup Atieva drag raced its electric van, called Edna, against a Tesla Model S and a Ferrari California in order to compare its performance against known and revered mechanical athletes. Again, the Silicon Valley-based company is putting its prototype up against electrified and conventionally powered performance vehicles on the drag strip. Last time around, Edna, the Mercedes-Benz Vito van equipped with a 900-horsepower, all-wheel-drive powertrain, bested both of its foes. In that showcase, Edna was hitting 60 mph in a little over three seconds. Comparatively, BMW lists the i8's 0-60 time at 4.2 seconds, though Road & Track clocked it at 3.8 seconds, with a quarter-mile time of 12.3 seconds. The Viper does 0-60 in 3.4 seconds. Before you even watch the video above, you can imagine how it will end, as the retuned Atieva Edna rips 0-60 mph in 2.94 seconds. Atieva clocked the quarter mile at 11.3 seconds at 117 mph. It's worth noting that driver skill can have a lot to do with a car's straight-line performance. We've witnessed Viper's elapsing the quarter mile in well under 12 seconds, which means it should be quicker in this test than the i8, if not the Edna. Still, the performance showcased in the video is exceptional. To improve Edna's stats, Atieva says it has used testing data to fine tune its AC induction motors at higher speeds once it got low-speed performance locked in. After testing in the hot California sun, including the race you see above, Atieva drove Edna 90 miles home with range to spare. As for production plans, Atieva will put this powertrain into a sedan slated for sale in 2018. In the meantime, the company will keep testing and tuning its working prototype, and has even invited the public to put their cars up against Edna in future sessions. This family has a trio of beautiful BMW E28 5 Series

Tue, Jan 6 2015

The Caccavo family is not like yours. They're actually far, far cooler. Rather than dad driving a pickup, mom piloting a crossover and son getting about in a clapped-out compact, each member of the family has their very own second-generation BMW 5 Series. Father Dean's M5, mom DonnaRae's 528e and son Austin's 535is were, remarkably, all purchased for under $10,000, after the family made a maximum-price rule for its cars. The E28 obsession all started innocently enough, with Dean's M5. Shortly after that, DonnaRae snapped up the 535is. When it came time to buy a car, his parents told him he'd need to get a job and make the purchase on his own. He agreed, under one condition – that he was able to buy his mom's 535is. Once the deal was said and done, DonnaRae found she'd acquired the E28 bug, and promptly bought herself the 528e. Petrolicious has the entire story on the Caccavos and their E28s, available in its latest installment. Check it out.
