Gorgeous 2002 Bmw E46 M3 With Many Tasteful Upgrades! Not Driven In Winter! on 2040-cars
Brookfield, Wisconsin, United States
Hello all. Thanks for the interest in my M3. I purchased this M3 almost a year ago exactly. I purchased it with the intension of it being a fun summer car. I knew full well that it would not be driven in the winter because I had a Toyota Landcruiser for that part of the year. I enjoyed it greatly for the warmer months and put it away before the first snow last fall. My current though is to attempt to consolidate down to one car and purchase a BMW 335xi. I thought I would attempt to sell the M3 with this plan in mind. Please note that I am not in a hurry to sell. In fact, I love this car. If I end up keeping it for another year, I will do so gladly. Therefore, please don’t send me any lowball offers. I know how hard it is to find a well maintained E46 M3 6-speed, especially one with all of these nice upgrades (it took me about a year to find this car). In addition, this car is not wintered! No salt and muck. I kept it in the garage under car cover up on jack stands all winter long! I have just been waiting for all of the salt and snow to be off the roads before I take it back out. The buyer should know that this is a very well maintained car, and I
have a two inch thick folder full of receipts for the car totaling over $15,000
in repairs and maintenance! Some very high dollar fixes / replacements have
been completed including a NEW BMW transmission and clutch done about 2.5 years
ago to the tune of $7,500. Apparently some of the syncros had started to
complain a bit, so the previous owner had a factory replacement transmission
installed, and then sold the car… bad for him. Great for me (and you). All of
the normal BMW M3 issues have already been addressed. Wheel bearings, bushings,
etc all upgraded and/or done. Bilstein coil-overs CSL front bumper CSL rear spoiler CSL Diffuser BMW 330d short throw shifter Powercoated black 19"s with NEW Conti DW Tires Magnaflow catback stainless steel exhaust - sounds awesome! AFE intake New Stoptek Slotted rotors with red calipers and Hawk pads Angel eyes Other really cool add-ons : Dice Ipod hook up in glove box ZHP Alcantara steering wheel ZHP Alcantara shifter boot with ZHP knob Carbon fiber Dinoc trim Carbon fiber side gills Black Kidney grills Professionally Tinted windows Some additional items within the last year: New rear trailing arm bushings and alignment New differential pinion and output shaft seals New thermostat and Coolant flush Please forgive the somewhat random photos. I still have the car in storage and just pulled these together from my phone pics. Please feel free to Call or text with questions 4I4-587-I789 or email:

BMW Concept 4 Series Coupe proves that 3-2=4
Mon, 14 Jan 2013BMW may be calling this 4 Series Coupe a concept, but take a long, hard look - this will be the car that replaces the 3 Series Coupe in the automaker's lineup. Don't let that number change trip you up. This car will have all the basic elements of what makes a 3 Series coupe so popular, and while this isn't technically the production model (there are still come conceptual elements and we don't have powertrain details), it's pretty much what we can look forward to seeing out on the road very soon. And honestly, the naming strategy isn't that weird (though it's still plenty odd) - BMW will be using even numbers for all its coupes and convertibles moving forward. 1 Series, meet 2 Series. And when a 3 Series loses two doors, it becomes a 4 Series.
Dimensionally, the new 4 Series coupe is 1.7-inches wider, half an inch shorter in overall height, and rides on a 2.0-inch longer wheelbase. It's a really pretty thing, with bold, aggressive body sculpting up front, and a rear deck that's sort of like a downsized version of the larger 6 Series two-door. It's all very handsome, but we'll reserve final judgment until we see the production version with its likely smaller wheels and possibly toned-down visuals.
We don't yet have powertrain details, but we fully expect the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and 3.0-liter turbo-six to carry over in 328i 428i and 435i guise. Though remember, other 3.0-liter models in BMW's range use 40i designation, so we could possibly be looking at a 440i Coupe, instead. We won't know until the production car officially bows later this year.
BMW unleashes 160-hp S 1000 R streetfighter motorcycle
Wed, 06 Nov 2013BMW Motorrad released the S 1000 RR superbike in 2010, but for those who'd like to take it down a (small) notch, the German motorcycle maker introduced the 2014 S 1000 R, a slightly less-ballsy version of the range-topping superbike, at EICMA on Tuesday.
In its transformation from 193-horsepower superbike to 160-hp sportbike, BMW detuned the 999cc inline four-cylinder engine a bit by lowering the redline from 13,000 RPM to 11,000 RPM, where peak power is made. Torque is rated at "approximately" 83 pound-feet (the RR makes 82.5 lb-ft), but more importantly, engineers tweaked the torque delivery in the R's favor by redesigning the cylinder-head ducts, modifying the camshaft profiles and reprogramming the engine management system. The result is seven lb-ft more torque than the RR up to 7,500 RPM. The R's torque peak occurs at 9,250 RPM.
The bike comes standard with ASC (automatic stability control) and "Race" ABS. Riders can choose between two modes, "Road" and "Rain," which adjust ABS and ASC settings to suit dry or wet roads. DTC (dynamic traction control) is available as an option, and with two modes, "Dynamic" and "Dynamic Pro," the system optimizes traction and helps riders achieve maximum acceleration.
Recharge Wrap-up: Grimsel electric car breaks acceleration world record, electric Ford Raptor ATV debuts
Sun, Nov 16 2014An all-electric version of the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor is now available... as an ATV. Made by Caddyshack Golf Cars, it features officially licensed Ford badging borrowed from the super-macho pickup. It has a lifted chassis with leaf springs in the front and rear, hydraulic shocks and off-road tires. Powered by a 48-volt motor, it can do 0-25 mph in 2.9 seconds. Range is an estimated 30 miles - plenty to get you through 18 of the most rugged holes of golf you've ever played. Caddyshack also offers other miniature electric Fords, including a Shelby GT500, Shelby Cobra and 50th Anniversary Mustang. Read more at Green Car Reports. Lexus takes a crack at the BMW i3 in a new video from Funny or Die. In the decidedly anti-EV film, a group of guys drives to Las Vegas for a "dad-chelor party" in a Lexus CT 200h and a BMW i3. The Lexus hybrid makes it to Sin City without any problems, while the BMW's occupants need to make several lengthy stops to charge along the way, missing much of the fun. The video lampoons the inherent range limitations of the EV (the BMW group ends up driving slowly through the desert with no AC or radio to save energy), all in a well produced, if somewhat misguided, short comedy film. Perhaps they should have considered the i3 with a range extender? See the video below, or read more at Green Car Reports. Students from ETH Zurich and Lucerne University have set a new EV acceleration world record. Their "Grimsel" racing car was able to zoom from 0-100 kph (0-62.137 mph) in just 1.785 seconds in less than 30 meters (98.425 feet), crushing the previous record of 2.134 seconds. Even more impressive is that the Grimsel was built by the students themselves, as part of the Formula Student team at the Academic Motorsports Club Zurich. The car weighs just 370 pounds and provides 200 horsepower and 1,202 pound feet of torque from the four hub motors. The Grimsel uses traction control to manage torque for maximum acceleration. See the record acceleration run in the videos below or read more at Gizmag, at Electric Autosport or in the press release from ETH Zurich below. 'grimsel' breaks world record The 'grimsel' electric racing car today broke the previous world record for acceleration in electric cars. The vehicle accelerated from 0 to 100 km/h in 1.785 seconds in under 30 metres. The new record was set by students from ETH Zurich and Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, who also designed and built the vehicle.
