Outstanding 2003 E46 M3 I am selling my clean, trouble free, superb condition M3. This is my daily driver and my 3rd M3. I have taken extreme care of the vehicle and if you can find a cleaner, more tastefully modified E46 M3, I suggest you by it. Once or twice a year, I take a car that needs some love and attention, and bring it back to life. This car is done! It needs nothing! There are absolutely NO trouble codes, subframe, or Vanos issues. The care has never been wrecked. Physician owed before me, it has been cared for and never tracked. Don't look for any dings or dents because you won't find any. I am selling the car to move on to my next project , which is a 1988 420 SEL. I will try to be complete, but may leave something out, so here it goes. The care is the 3.2 SMG coupe model 101900 miles, but I do drive it. I have replaced all the external window molding with brand new OEM products. This was simply to bring it back to new looking and to get rid of 10 year old, sun faded rubber. The care has brand new BOSCH OEM wipers and blades New Hood Cowl The original kidney grill and side grills were old and chrome and have been replaced with brand new black ones with new badges The car has brand new RED carbon fiber Roundels inside and out. This includes the wheel center caps. Replaced gauge rings with RED rings. Brand new RED leather shift boot and e-brake boot. ( Getting the theme here?) Carbon fiber dash and door kit The seats are perfect. No rips or tears. I had the seat professionally reconditioned and colored and immediately placed a cover on the driver side to protect it. You can see in the photos. I installed a BMW OEM Homelink unit in the headliner, so you dont have to have a cheesy garage door opener pinned to the visor. The factory radio has been replaced with a Bluetooth unit complete with Navigation and backup camera. It works flawlessly.I installed a 5 port USB port as well for your phone. Cell phone dash mount. The ugly SMG shift knob has been replaced with an illuminated knob I took from a 2011 M3. It glows RED and looks awesome at night. Now the outside No dents The car comes with Koalty Carbon fiber front lip Carbon fiber roof spoiler Carbon fiber trunk spoiler and Carbon fiber PTM rear diffuser. The exhaust is an ALL Stainless Steal Corsa catback($1600, check it if you dont believe me), and sounds awesome. The wheels are $2500 CCWs with big Brand new(about 250 miles) 11 inch Hankook Ventus, 285/30/19s in the rear. Big 14 inch Sportech cross drilled rotors all around with HAWK pads. I replace the factory springs with HR 1 inch drop sport springs to give it a better stance and more control. Xenon headlights Again, in order to refresh the car, I replaced the headlight lenses with brand new crystal clear ones. Brand new Yellow halogen fog lights. Tinted rear tail lights. Car has 20% window tint all around. The Engine No issues Brand new Bosch coils New NGK plugs AFE Cold Air Intake OIL, only replaced with Blue Molly 10W-60 I probably have forgotten something, but as you can see, the car is complete and a head turner. OK, now the sale... Do not bid if you are not serious Bidding from ZERO feedback bidders need to contact me first. I will require a $500 nonrefundable deposit w/i 48 hours of the sale. This is to discourage deadbeats. The remainder is due w/i 7 days. I will cancel and relist the car if these terms are not met. You can pick the car up or have it shipped, but the buyer is responsible for all costs and arrangements. Ask any questions about the car, and I will do my best to answer. I am a physician and fairly busy but will get back to you. THE RADAR DETECTOR IS NOT INCLUDED I have additional photos that I am happy to email you. Good Luck |

BMW 1 Series GT morphs into production-spec 225i Active Tourer
Mon, 16 Dec 2013Based on the effort - and money - BMW is spending to break off the coupes and convertibles in its lineup as even-numbered models (like the new 2 Series and 4 Series), we figured the production version of the 2012 Concept Active Tourer was a lock to wear the 1 Series GT name. These spy shots paint a different picture, however, as they show the car seemingly in full showroom-ready trim during a photo shoot, wearing the 225i name indicating that it will be in the 2 Series family.
While it's still very possible that this badging is the final bit of trickery for disguising the front-wheel-drive 1 Series GT, the hatchback itself appears to be the real deal. Aside from new fascias, a smaller grille and slightly different lights, the styling of this "225i" stayed pretty true to the Concept Active Tourer. Thanks to our long-lensed photographer, we also get a brief glimpse inside the hatchback, which reveals a two-tiered instrument panel layout including the free-standing navigation display that is similar to the concept car.
Regardless of what name this new model will wear, expect it to be unveiled at next year's Geneva Motor Show in March before arriving in the US sometime in 2015.
This Or That: 1980 Oldsmobile 442 vs. 1989 BMW 635CSi [w/poll]
Thu, 09 Oct 2014The last time I roped a coworker into an automotive debate, I lost. Resoundingly, I might add. Still, 2,385 voters chose to cast their lots for the Fiat 500 Abarth, as opposed to 5,273 choosing the Ford Fiesta ST, and so I can rest easy in the knowledge that at least 30 percent of you, dear readers, see things my way. I still like to think we have more fun, too.
My loss in the first round of our This or That series, in which two Autoblog editors pick sides on any given topic and then attempt to explain why the other is completely wrong, didn't stop me from picking another good-natured fight, this time with Senior Editor Seyth Miersma. Last time, our chosen sides were eerily similar in design, albeit quite different in actual execution. This time, our vehicular peculiarities couldn't seemingly fall any further from one another: A 1980 Oldsmobile 442 wouldn't seem to match up in comparison to a 1989 BMW 635CSi.
How did we come up with such disparate contenders? Simple, really. Seyth and I mutually agreed to choose a car that's currently for sale online. It had to be built and sold in the 1980s, and it had to be a coupe. The price cap was set at $10,000. The fruits of our searching labors will henceforth be disputed, with Seyth on the side of the Germans, and myself arguing in favor of the Rocket Olds. Am I setting myself up for another lopsided loss?
BMW celebrates 30 years of M5 with 600-hp super sedan
Wed, 07 May 2014It's been 30 years since BMW rolled out the first M5, and while displacement and cylinder count may have fluctuated over those past three decades, output has only increased. The first-generation E28 M5 packed a 3.5-liter inline-six with 252 horsepower and 243 lb-ft of torque. The second-gen E34 model that followed added an extra 100 cc (and later 200 more) to produce 310 hp and 266 lb-ft. The E39 followed with a 4.9-liter V8 churning out 394 hp and 369 lb-ft, replaced by the award-winning 5.0-liter V10 in the E60 with its 500 hp and 380 lb-ft before BMW rolled out the latest model with a 4.4-liter V8, its twin turbos making up for the two dropped cylinders and 600 cc of displacement to produce 560 hp and 502 lb-ft of torque. But even that's being left in the dust by the new special edition you see here.
The 30th Anniversary Edition BMW M5 packs that same 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8, but cranks the output up to a nice, round 600 horsepower and a solid 516 lb-ft of torque to go with it. That makes it more powerful, not only than any M5 that's come before it, but also any of its rivals. The Jaguar XFR-S and Audi RS6 Avant (the latter only available as a wagon and not in North America) both lag behind this ultimate of Ultimate Driving Machines; only the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG trumps it on torque (but not on power), with 531 lb-ft in stock form and 590 in the S-Model.
As a result, the 0-60 time drops from a quoted 4.2 seconds in the stock M5 to a scant 3.7 in the 30th Anniversary edition (just one tick behind that twistier E63 S). The special M5 also comes with the Competition Package as standard, as well as a dedicated control module for the Active M Differential, a special Frozen Dark Silver matte finish, 20-inch alloys and black chrome badges. Special badges abound inside as well, where you'll also find black leather and Alcantara upholstery and aluminum trim. There'll even be a dedicated one-day course offered to owners at The Thermal Club in Palm Springs, CA, to further sweeten the deal.
