I am the fourth owner. I bought the car around 58,000 miles and during the time I have had the car, it has been an absolute amazing experience. The previous owner bought the car with less 15,500 miles from a Middle aged man named Ali who used the car as his weekend car. He was having a baby so car had to go. I have all the records of the car from day 1 of purchase including all books and window sticker. Ali bought the car from his rich uncle with 5,000 miles on it. His uncle just bought it as a toy and changed his mind. 2. EVERY SINGLE service has been done on time and added oil changes at 5,000 miles instead of 15,000. Every single record was kept and documented from BMW. At 50k miles, all services with all OEM BMW parts and fluids were completed. Inspection II (everything including valves) @ 50k. Just put in a new Everstart battery 2k miles ago. This car is perfect and ready to go. When I bought the car, I purchased ($2200) brand new Matte Black Vorsteiner staggered rims and I spend ($1800) and brand new Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. 275/30/19 rear and 245/35/19 front. Tires have less than 10k miles on them. I also spend $2200 on replacing DME - EMS which has 2 years warranty. The only thing that needs to be changed is the brakes. The car has NEVER broken down on me. As reliable as solid German engineering gets. No lights on the dash, no weird noises, NOTHING. Mechanically as great as day 1. 3. The car is meticulously cared for outside of maintenance. It has been garaged since day 1, gets fully detailed twice a year, and wax every other month. The car is warmed up before driven, no food is allowed in the car, and rear seats were almost never used. This cigarets allowed in car. Smoke Free!!! This car has truly become a huge part of my life and everyone who knows me knows me by my car also. In summary, you will be hard pressed to find a cleaner 2003 with less than 70k miles in this rare and desired color, guaranteed. It is not off the manufacturing line show room condition, but it is MINT for it's age. |

BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo won't be a one-and-done model
Tue, Jan 27 2015The BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo seems like a model without a real segment to fit into. It doesn't quite match the mold for the swoopy four-door coupe niche like the Porsche Panamera or the brand's own 6 Series Gran Coupe. However, the vehicle isn't really a station wagon to appeal to those utilitarian buyers, either. Despite this identity crisis, BMW is reportedly prepping another GT for the next-gen 5 Series platform. According to German magazine Auto Motor und Sport, the 5 Series GT somehow has been a big enough sales success in the US and China to warrant another model. The next one would allegedly arrive in 2016, which is the about the same size as the future 5 Series sedan. The magazine speculates the new GT could lose about 221 pounds in the transition and be offered with four- and six-cylinder powertrains, plus a plug-in hybrid with an electric driving range estimated at around 19 miles. Globally, China is actually the larger 5er GT market than the US. According to IHS senior analyst Stephanie Brinley to Autoblog, the variant sold 21,089 units worldwide in 2013 (2014 is still being tabulated), and that represented about 5.7 percent of the 370,930 total sales for the 5 Series. China bought 42 percent of the world's GTs, compared to about 10 percent of the mix from the US. Europe, meanwhile, took about 29 percent of them that year. While the GT's sales figures make up just a fraction of the overall 5 Series, the variant is still a moneymaker for BMW, and IHS forecasts a second generation, too. "The 5 Series range as a whole is stronger for having this product, and it's very likely that the company's profit margin is higher on the GT, even with the cost of some dedicated sheetmetal and tooling," said Brinley. Beverly Hills road rage incident ends with BMW driver ramming bicyclist
Fri, 26 Apr 2013An instance of road rage turned mortally dangerous in Beverly Hills, CA, recently, when an incident between a cyclist and a BMW driver took a scary turn in front of a rolling security camera.
LA Weekly reports that the person on the bicycle and the driver of the 2008 BMW 328i in the video had some kind of altercation, resulting in the cyclist punching the driver. The driver then followed the biker to an alley on the 9000 block of Wilshire Blvd and, according to the Beverly Hills Police Department, "Intentionally rammed the bicyclist with his vehicle pinning him to a metal rolling trash bin."
That the act was intentional is clearly evident in the video footage below, captured on a security camera. Police have published the video in the hopes of tracking down the driver, who is said to be in his mid-30s with dark hair, dark eyes and a thin build. BMW owners across the country can thank him - for reinforcing certain stereotypes - by helping to turn him in. Do your part, Bimmer Nation.
BMW Films are on the way back [w/videos]
Mon, 17 Feb 2014The BMW Films series caused a stir in 2001 and 2002 by combining top-quality cinematography, Hollywood names and driving excitement to sell its sporty wares in a whole new way. By arriving five years before YouTube, they ranked as some of the earliest viral videos on the internet. By now, these sorts of films are almost commonplace, but back when BMW hit upon the idea, the idea of brand-integrated short films on the internet was still a novelty. Now, for the first time in over a decade, the German automaker is planning on bringing back BMW Films for a new season.
Trudy Hardy, BMW North America Vice President of Marketing, announced the series' return at the 2014 Automotive News World Congress in Detroit, according to Ad Age. However, neither the German brand nor Anonymous Content, the original production company, have been willing to comment further on when the new videos are coming.
The original series of eight films starred Clive Owen as the Driver (back then, Owen was largely unknown to American audiences), a mercenary who would take a variety of jobs and always drive a BMW. David Fincher executive produced the first season and directors included top names like John Frankenheimer, Ang Lee and Guy Ritchie. All of the second season movies had Owen driving a Z4, but in our estimation, the quality had fallen off a bit compared to the outstanding first season.
