Some notes from my end:
- Newly installed Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires (With a warranty in case of an unexpected failure)
- Rotors, pads, spark plugs and fluids are all recent (It is due for a brake fluid change covered under warranty, which I will take it in a few days and get that out of the way for the next owner)
- Oil changes done at or before 5,000 mile mark with Castrol TWS 10w-60 oil. (BMW does this on a 15,000 mile interval, so I pay out of pocket in every 3 out of 2 oil changes for a peace of mind)
- The exterior went through a full detail last summer
- Leather wiped down once a month and conditioned with Leatherique every 6 months
- New OEM floormats installed within last 500 miles
- New battery
- 240E factory engine software update (It is the latest software on these cars)
- Never tracked or abused
- No accident

Modifications:
- First, the headlights as you will notice in the photos. White LED Angel Eyes (not bulbs) were installed. Just to make it clear; these aren't just bulbs like the stock ones that gets washed away during daylight. These are LED rings that do not get washed away under the brightest day light
- Second, I installed 5000K Osram Cool Blue Intense D1S bulbs to match the Angel Eyes. These are the most expensive bulbs in the market today and are being used as the OEM bulbs for BMW, Benz and Audi cars as of 2014. Brighter than stock xenon with 200 more lumens per side, while being pure white in color temperature at 5000K
- Third and the last, the Euro DCT flash. Made a world of difference in everyday drivability (for me)

To ensure the car doesn't get abused by joy riders and is in excellent condition for the person who buys it, test drives will be given only to serious buyers with a cashier's check in hand.

Best regards,

BMW offering Track Handling Package for 2 Series

Thu, 17 Apr 2014

After getting a chance to drive the BMW M235i earlier this year, we mentioned our regret at not being able to sample the lighter and less powerful 228i Coupe. We'd like to have seen how close the latter could get to the former, noting that "there's a lot of room for upgrades with the $11,000 retail difference." BMW is closing that performance gap slightly, announcing that a Track Handling Package will join the options sheet for the 2015 228i Coupe.
The group bolts on Variable Sport Steering, Adaptive M Suspension and M Sport Brakes behind new 18-inch lightweight wheels wearing Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. There's no change to the 240-horsepower four-cylinder, but a coupe so equipped should be able to do plenty more with the horses it has thanks to a faster steering rack, sharper handling due to additional sensors and a ten-millimeter drop in ride height, and larger brakes and discs.
BMW has used the New York Auto Show as a venue to introduce the new Track Handling Package, and it will roll onto showroom floors in July and pricing will be announced sometime between now and then. Takers can get it with both the six-speed manual and eight-speed Sport Automatic, see it in the high-res image gallery above, and read about it in the press release below.

Evo pits BMW M3 against Porsche Macan in drag battle

Sun, 24 Aug 2014

If you want to move five passengers in very rapid fashion and you've got a $75,000 budget, two newly introduced four-door models immediately come to mind - both are the highest performing vehicles in their respective segments. But which is faster off the line, to the 60-mile-per-hour benchmark or flat-out over an even longer run? Evo took both to paved aircraft runway to find out.
In lane one we've got the all-new Porsche Macan Turbo, which boasts a twin-turbocharged, 3.6-liter V6 rated at 400 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. The Porsche is fitted with a seven-speed, dual-clutch gearbox, and the 4,244-pound crossover has the traction advantage of standard all-wheel drive. In lane two is the all-new BMW M3, powered by a twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six rated at 425 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. It is also equipped with a seven-speed, dual-clutch gearbox, but only the rear wheels of the 3,595-pound sedan are driven. Both the BMW and Porsche arrive with launch control, which helps to remove driver error off the line.
Which automaker's launch control system is better off the line? Does all-wheel-drive grip give the crossover the advantage it needs to overcome its adversary's power-to-weight advantage? Will aerodynamics factor into the results? Which would you put in your garage, and why? The video may surprise you.

Behind the Scenes of BMW's 'Drift Mob,' Part 2 [w/video]

Tue, 01 Jul 2014

After spending four days practicing about a dozen drift stunt moves in a parking lot for an upcoming BMW "Drift Mob" internet mini-film, Rhys Millen, Sam Hübinette, Dai Yoshihara, Rich Rutherford, and Conrad Grunewald are finally ready for show time. We are brought to the huge urban traffic circle to see the stunts performed midway through the day to observe for a couple of hours.
The undertaking is massive, with multiple cameras set up, scores of crew members, a helicopter filming from above, a rigged pickup for car-to-car shots, sidewalks lined with security and plenty of curious onlookers, and oh, yeah, a major intersection of a top world city shut down for an entire weekend.
The five drifting legends are nestled in their identical red BMW M235i coupes, which have been modified with special handbrakes but essentially nothing else you can't get on a stock version, and are listening to direction from director Mic Rodgers and stunt coordinator Riley Harper. We're basically given free rein of the set, to shoot the cars, the drivers, and at one point, even hopping in with Yoshihara for one of the admittedly more tame stunts. Even then, the g-forces are so severe that they flip our cameraphone's video recording from landscape mode to portrait. Yes, this is a pretty cool day to be reporting on cars, and as we said during our first installment of our behind the scenes coverage of Drift Mob, we're honored to be the only US media outlet here to tell the tale.
