2004 BMW M3 I am selling my 2004 BMW E46 M3. Perhaps the best M3 to ever be built by BMW! The car is in flawless condition inside and out. I am the 2nd owner, I bought the car back in 2012 from a Doctor who lived in Hawaii and had the car with him there. He babied the car and drove it only on weekends. I also did the same which is why the mileage is extremely low!! The car has never been raced or tracked. Never been in an accident and it has a clean clear title. It has always been garage kept! Never had any problems with the M3, it drives smoothly and runs flawlessly! The reason I am being forced to sell the car is simply because my wife and I are expecting our first child and I just purchased an Audi A8 because we need the added room. I only drove the car in nice clear weather. Unfortunately I just don't have time to drive this car anymore, otherwise I would keep this M3 forever! About my M3: The car is Fully loaded including navigation, power leather seats, Xenon lights, and much more! The engine has never been touched and is completely stock as it should be for these cars. 3.2L Inline 6 with 333hp! It has the amazingly smooth SMG transmission with paddle shifting on the steering wheel. It shifts extremely fast and smooth in every gear. The exterior is near perfect condition with very minor rock chips that are unnoticeable and normal for a 2004. It is the rare carbon black color which changes to a blue in sunlight! I always wax the car and keep the paint in flawless condition. The interior leather and dash are also in perfect condition. No rips or tears on the leather. Overall the car is a 9 out 10 considering its age I have kept this car in immaculate condition. I have always done all regular maintenance and oil changes. Title is in hand and ready for new owner! Traditionally, nominations for the Autoblog Technology of the Year award are earned for specific developments - a new-think powertrain, a uniquely developed material, a groundbreaking smartphone app, or what have you. In the case of BMW's marvelous i8, it so bristles with novel applied sciences and fresh features that we broke with tradition and nominated the entire car.
We just couldn't help ourselves. Oh, we could've focused on the i8's carbon-fiber monocoque, or its well-resolved plug-in-hybrid powertrain that incorporates a tiny 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine and an electric motor, or its seamless through-the-road all-wheel drive. This is a car that will even have frickin' laser beams for headlights - at least it will for our friends in Europe (and it will in the US, should our legislators ever catch up).
BMW unleashes new M4 racer on DTM
Mon, 03 Mar 2014We may not get to enjoy the fruits of it all, but we're in the midst of a golden age in touring car racing around the world. In Northern Europe, rival local series have amalgamated into the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship. In the UK, the British Touring Car Championship is enjoying the largest and most diverse grid in its long history. In Australia, the V8 Supercars series has grown from a Holden vs. Ford battle to include challengers from Mercedes, Nissan and Volvo. And in Germany, the DTM championship has managed to lure BMW back onto the grid to open up the battle between Mercedes and Audi. All good things, in short.
Since returning to the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters in 2012, BMW has won the drivers' title once and the constructors' title twice, proving the Bavarian manufacturer to be not only a suitable challenger to the two-horse race between its star- and ring-emblazoned rivals, but the dominant force in German tin-top racing. Now BMW is set to enter its third season since returning to the DTM, and this is the car with which it intends to do so.
Replacing the M3 DTM that has impressively won half of the DTM races it has contested over the past two years, BMW's latest racing car is made in the mold of the new M4 coupe. Only it's even meaner. While the production version has switched to a turbo six, the DTM version still uses a V8: a 4.0-liter unit with four-valve cylinder heads, mandatory air restrictors and a Bosch ECU to channel 480 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque to the rear set of Hankook racing slicks through a six-speed sequential gearbox. The lightweight chassis is rounded out with competition-level aerodynamics and all the mandatory safety equipment.
