EXTERIOR: THE GRAY METALLIC PAINT IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND THERE IS NO RUST ANYWHERE ON THIS CAR. THERE IS A SMALL DOOR DING (PICTURED), AND A COUPLE OF LIGHT SCRATCHES (PICTURED). THE PAINT HAS HIGH GLOSS AND LOTS OF CURB APPEAL.
INTERIOR: THE BLACK LEATHER INTERIOR IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION, THERE ARE NO HOLES OR RIPS IN THE LEATHER. THE HEADLINER HAS NO SAGGING AND THE CARPETS ARE GREAT. THIS VEHICLE HAS THE ORIGINAL BLACK M3 FLOOR MATS AND THE PREVIOUS OWNERS WERE NOT SMOKERS.
WHEELS AND TIRES: THE M3 WHEELS ALL HAVE SOME CURB RASH (I TOOK A PICTURE OF ONE OF THE WHEELS AS AN EXAMPLE). THE FRONT TIRES ARE DEEP IN RUBBER PROBABLY ABOUT 80%, BUT THE BACK TIRES NEED TO BE REPLACED.
MECHANICS: THE CAR DIVES, STOPS AND STEERS GREAT. THE CLUTHS IS NICE AND TIGHT AND THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS SMOOTH. THIS IS A SUPER FAST CAR AND A BLAST TO DRIVE WITH THE MANUAL TRANSMISSION. THE AIR IS ICE COLD AND THE HARMON KARDON AUDIO SYSTEM SOUNDS GREAT.
WHATS WRONG WITH IT YOU ASK? ALL 4 WHEELS HAVE CURB RASH, THERE IS A SMALL DOOR DING ON THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE, THERE ARE A COUPLE OF SCRATCHES ON THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR, THE HANDLE THAT FOLDS THE DRIVERS SEAT FORWARD IS BROKEN OFF, NEEDS BACK TIRES, THE SHADE FOR THE MOON ROOF IS STUCK CLOSED, THERE IS MINOR WEAR ON THE ARM REST BETWEEN THE FRONT SEATS.

The 2013 BMW M6 is a rolling obscenity - one that begins with the capital letter "F." It is both the act and the exclamation, the curse and the encouragement. It courts no logic. It is all want and no need, and it is unbecoming of the BMW roundel. Whereas the brand's products once strove to unite man and machine in a duet of blissful performance, the M6 seems built solely to stand between the driver and the road. You are very clearly in its way every second you're behind the wheel, slowing it down and generally being the Monday morning to its two-day trance festival. It's clear this car is very fast, but it has no interest in making you fast in the way that the M3 or even the M5 are wont to do.
But somehow, all that doesn't stop the car from stoking every last lick of lust in your gut. A 560-horsepower twin-turbocharged V8 will do that for you.
BMW and Mini shuffle NA management, McDowell to retire
Wed, 04 Dec 2013BMW and Mini recently shuffled top personnel in their design departments, and now BMW of North America will reorganize its management to improve customer relations. Peter Miles (pictured), currently the executive vice president of operations, will take a newly created position, vice president of sales channel development and customer relations, while Jim McDowell, vice president of Mini of the Americas, will retire.
Chris Koenders, president of BMW Group Netherlands, will move take Miles' spot as executive vice president of operations. David Duncan, western region vice president, will take McDowell's job as vice president of Mini of the Americas. Finishing off the management switcharoo is Peter Witt, who will move from his current position as Managing Director of BMW Sweden to take Duncan's job as western region vice president.
"We are intensifying our customer-driven focus and these changes will influence the entire organization to continue improving all phases of the customer journey from prospect to purchase and throughout the ownership cycle," says Ludwig Willisch, president and CEO of BMW NA. LA Design Challenge invokes biology for 2025 concepts [w/poll]
Wed, 13 Nov 2013Participants in the annual LA Design Challenge always manage to come up with edgy, wacky designs for future vehicles, but with a theme of "Biomimicry and Mobility: 2025" this year's crop of cars might be the quirkiest we've ever seen. As usual, automotive designers from around the world participated in this year's competition, and all the designs will all be unveiled next week during the LA Auto Show with a winner being announced on November 21.
Chinese automakers made a strong showing with Qoros, SAIC Motor, JAC Motors (the company responsible for the Ford F-150 clone) and Changfeng all bringing interesting takes on the biology, human intelligence and sustainability theme. One of the more innovative ideas among these automakers is the Qoros Silk Road System allows autonomous vehicles to drive in packs similar to how ants travel. Speaking of ants, the SAIC Motor Mobiliant (shown above) gets its design from the shape of an ant's body, and, like the insect, it can climb building acting as a personal elevator as well. The JAC Motors design also merges vehicle and building design, while the Changfeng LaBrea inspired by the design of muscle fibers.
Other entrants include Subaru and US-based design teams for BMW, Toyota and Mazda. BMW's duo of concepts mimic plant and animal life. The LA Subways concept acts as a submersible, single-person vehicle to take advantage of the LA river, with a shape similar to an Ocean Sunfish. The Sustainable Efficient Exploratory Device (SEED) imitates the shape of a seed pod, and uses propulsion methods inspired by a shark, dragonfly and a water bug. Mazda's Auto Adapt might be the most car-like concept of the bunch, while the Subaru Suba-Roo and the Calty-designed, Toyota e-grus are the most mind-blowingly awesome.
