Hello everybody,

I am selling my BMW M3, in the middle of convertible season, for a price that cannot be beat! Upon my graduation from college last year, my dad and I began the project of rebuilding this beautiful car. Purchasing it with a salvage title from Insurance Auto Auctions, we finished the car in September of last year after about 4 months of disciplined labor. We used OEM parts for replacements, and took time to address every detail with professional patience. This was not a hasty DIY performed by amateurs. My dad is a veteran in auto-body restoration with 30+ years of experience. We did a great job on this car, but if you need to see it to believe it ( as you should) I'd have no problem making time for interested buyers.

The car has been inspected and serviced. It has four fresh tires, four fresh sets of brake pads, and was recently aligned. I drive this car every day, and have put 10,000 miles on it in the past year without any problems whatsoever. Everything works with factory efficiency. The convertible top goes up and down in a matter of seconds. The seat-heaters keep you warm when the sun goes down. The a/c will keep you cool on the hottest summer day, and the navigation system will get you where you need to go. There are a few dash-lights on because some sensors need to be reset, but this does not affect the functionality of the car in any way.

I am selling the car because I need a utility vehicle. There are absolutely no flaws in this car's performance, and one would have to look long and hard to pick out the aesthetic imperfections.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me.

Thanks,
Andy

2014 BMW X5 configurator goes live

Sun, 28 Jul 2013

BMW won't begin selling the 2014 X5 for another few months, but the German manufacturer has brought the third-generation SAV's configurator online, allowing interested customers to poke around and look at the X5's optional goodies.
Like the 3 Series, the X5 is available in a number of lines that load up extras automatically. There's also a do-it-yourself truck that allows owners to pick and choose if they're not enamored with the styling or trim of one of the dedicated packages. As usual, the options list is quite vast, regardless of which line is chosen. We were able to easily take the new, rear-drive X5 sDrive35i, which started at $52,800, and bring the total price up past $80,000.
The new X5 carries over its 4.4-liter, twin-turbo V8 from the current model, as well as BMW's excellent 3.0-liter, turbocharged inline-six. The X5 xDrive35d, with the 3.0-liter turbodiesel will also be available on the third-generation SUV, but won't hit dealers until early 2014. BMW is stepping outside of the X5's usual bounds, offering a dedicated rear-drive model, available with all the same trimmings as the xDrive vehicles. Head over to BMW's US consumer page and have a go.

Take a look at the shocking Rolls-Royce Next 100 concept

Thu, Jun 16 2016

Rolls-Royce showed off its Vision Next 100 concept today in London, giving a look at what its vehicles might look like a century years from now. Each BMW brand will show its own concept this year; BMW's Vision Next 100 concept was an interesting mix of textile-like patterns with stretchy fenders and a very 2010s four-door coupe shape, but this Rolls-Royce concept looks more like a luxury version of a World Solar Challenge racer. The car's official title is 103EX, following the convention of recent Roller concepts. Whereas its BMW counterpart was perhaps a safe, predictable vision of the future, the Rolls is a striking vehicle and a big departure for the brand. Whether it works as a whole for you or not, it represents the kind of stylistic provocation that made ex-BMW stylist Chris Bangle a household name. While the early Bangle cars were extremely controversial, this Rolls concept is clearly the heir of his penchant for sharply creased character lines. Call the rocker panel crease flame surfacing if you want. The floating headlamps and blade-edged verticality of the fenders are classic Rolls: imposing and visually heavy, without necessarily being classically beautiful. The square, flat grille is, to my eyes, much less successfully integrated. It seems like Rolls had the perfect opportunity to evolve the trademark grille into something more contemporary. In 100 years, the brand will still need to lean on this sort of anachronism? That seems short-sighted. We'll have more on this concept from our man on the ground in London later today. 2014 BMW 740Ld xDrive does diesel in a big way

Thu, 06 Feb 2014

Slowly but surely, BMW is expanding its lineup of diesel-powered models here in the United States. In addition to the 328d sedan and wagon, 535d sedan and X5 xDrive35d crossover, we now have this, the BMW 740Ld xDrive (not to mention the refreshed 2015 X3 xDrive28d that also makes its debut here in Chicago). As its name - and the photos above - suggest, this means BMW is offering diesel power in its flagship, long-wheelbase 7 Series sedan, set to directly compete with the likes of the excellent Audi A8 TDI.
Under the hood is BMW's familiar 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel inline-six, delivering 255 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque, all of which is sent to the road via the company's xDrive all-wheel-drive system and ZF eight-speed automatic transmission. That torque thrust is available straight away from 1,500 rpm, and BMW says the 740Ld xDrive will sprint to 60 miles per hour in a very respectable 6.1 seconds. Official fuel economy estimates haven't been released yet, but we expect the car to net highway fuel economy ratings in the mid-30 range.
The 740Ld xDrive arrives in BMW showrooms this spring, priced from $82,500, not including $925 for destination. We're pretty stoked to drive it. But in the meantime, have a look at fresh images of the big sedan live from the Chicago Auto Show, above.
