2002 BMW M3 SMG RESERVE IS $8,100 Clean Title Carbon Black Metallic 149,xxx Miles Sport Package Cold Weather Package 19" TSW Nurburgring Wheels Nitto NT550 Tires 100% Stock (aside from wheels and tires) This is a great car, runs and drives great! I love the car, and have daily driven it for the last 3 years. I'm going to hate selling it I just need a car slightly bigger. Subframe has been inspected by BMW, and myself MULTIPLE times, so no worry there. It's is great shape. SMG System has been meticulously maintained for the past 3 years of owning the car. So has the car in its entirety. FULL servicing has been done every 7,500 miles (instead of the BMW recommended 15,000 miles. This includes spark plugs, diff fluid, oil, trans fluid, SMG fluid, and coolant. The car's air bag light is on, this is because I removed the air bag to inspect the SMG paddle micro switches that went out, and I didn't disconnect the battery while doing so, so it threw the air bag light. As stated above, the paddles do not work due to bad micro switches, it's a simple fix, but I haven't felt the need to replace them. Paint chip on the passenger side skirt is from removing a vinyl wrap I had on the car. This car has been wrecked, bought the car with a salvage title, had it repaired and inspected, and it is now a CLEAN TITLE CAR. I have photos of the car when I bought it, and all documentation of the repairs. The only thing that was put on the car was a right front fender and a front bumper. The car was "totaled" because the frame rail was slightly tweaked in the wreck, and the cost of all the repairs was higher than 50% of the car's value. The car has since been put on a frame machine, and straightened out! As stated above, the car runs and drives great. I haven't had any issues out of the car since I purchased it. Car needs some TLC, but its 12 years old, and has been my daily. Other than the cosmetic issues (front grills, fog light, paint chip) She's ready to go! |

BMW is the US auto industry's leading exporter
Fri, 18 Jul 2014Which automaker do you think ships the most cars out of North America, one of the Detroit Three or perhaps one of the Japanese automakers? Nope. It turns out the BMW's Spartanburg, SC, factory is the biggest automotive exporter from the continent in the United States. According to a recent profile by Bloomberg looking at the plant's 20th anniversary, Bimmer's southern ops sends out more vehicles than all of Michigan combined.
When the Spartanburg factory opened up in 1994, its success was hardly assured, largely because of South Carolina's relatively small economy at the time. However, BMW picked the site because of its proximity to East Coast shipping that made it easier to move engines and transmission in from Germany and export vehicles back to Europe, according to Bloomberg. The Bavarians clearly made the right choice.
Today, the plant has developed into an absolute powerhouse. The factory currently assembles the X3, X4, X5 and X6 and exports about 70 percent of the vehicles built there. Things are only getting better. BMW is investing $1 billion through 2016 to boost annual production from the current 300,000 units up to 450,000 and to build a new flagship crossover called X7. The expansion also adds a further 800 jobs there to take total employment up to about 8,800. Including the latest financing, BMW has put over $7.3 billion into the factory since it opened, notes Bloomberg.
BMW planning Chinese recall for engine part issue [w/video]
Mon, 17 Mar 2014After receiving an unspecified number of complaints in China, BMW has reportedly started a "full investigation" into what may be a defective part in its VANOS engine control system. BMW said via a Chinese blog that it would file a recall application with the the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine in China.
BMW has not yet announced how many vehicles will be recalled, or which models the potential recall might cover. We're also curious as to whether the VANOS issue could extend into markets outside of China.
We've placed a call with BMW in the United States, and will update this post as soon as we hear back. Stay tuned for more, and if you're curious about what VANOS is and how it works, scroll down below for a video animation.
Autoblog Minute: Nokia to sell Here mapping for $3.1B
Wed, Aug 5 2015In a three company partnership the German automakers BMW, Audi and Daimler are set to take ownership of Nokia's Here mapping technology. Autoblog's Eddie Sabatini reports on this edition of Autoblog Minute. Show full video transcript text [00:00:00] In a battle for Nokia's highly coveted mapping technology the auto industry claims victory over Silicon Valley. I'm Eddie Sabatini and this is your Autoblog Minute. In a three company partnership the German automakers BMW, Audi and Daimler are set to take ownership of Nokia's Here mapping technology. The Wall Street Journal writes that the automakers had concerns that the technology might fall under the [00:00:30]control of companies like Google, Uber, or Apple. The purchase, worth a reported 3.1 billion dollars, is still subject to antitrust evaluation before it's finalized; but this early news is already a big win for the German three. Ownership of Nokia's Here tech means that automakers won't lose control of the information systems that go into their cars. The deal, if approved, is expected to close in first quarter of 2016. For Autoblog, I'm Eddie Sabatini. [00:01:00] Autoblog Minute Logo Autoblog Minute is a short-form video news series reporting on all things automotive.
