Gaithersburg, Maryland, United States
2002 BMW *M3* No Reserve NR *171,650 MILES* COLD WEATHER PACKAGE ! REAR PARK SENSORS ! 19" WHEELS !! I
am selling my beautiful BMW E46 M3 COUPE,
with no reserve so the highest bidder will get the car. It is equipped
with a Sequential Manual Gearbox (SMG) transmission and premium package. It is
a rare and stunning color combination with shining Laguna Seca Blue
exterior and Grey leather interior. The
car is fully loaded with everything power, windows, sunroof and both seats. The
car is incredibly powerful, amazing 3.2 L 16 DOHC 24V engine pushing 333 HP and
262 lb-ft of torque. The engine & transmission are in excellent mechanical
condition. There are no leaks anywhere that I can see or detect. It
has good rotors & brakes. The tires have about 5,000 miles on them, size
245/30R19 in the front and 255/35ZR19 in the rear. Good: 1.
Engine & transmission in excellent condition. Synthetic engine oil filter, ~2000 miles ago 2.
Tires: 80% thread remaining 3.
The SMG pump was replaced 6,000 miles ago (with an used one) along with the
pink relay. The car will come with the original non-functional SMG pump. It
could be rebuilt. 4.
It comes with 2 keys, but one needs a need battery. 5.
The car was smog checked last year in Virginia; Thus, it has one year remaining. Bad: 1. Some scratches in front bumper, see picture 2. The driver’s seat shows some wear, see picture 3. Pillar trim fabrics needs to be reglued, see
picture 4. Minor exterior dings 5. Door latch does not lock or unlock door. I believe
it needs a door lock cylinder barrel However, electronic central locking is
working property, locks & unlocks the car. 6. Airbag light comes on every once in a while I
have clear title in hand. I would give it 7.5 out of 10 to both interior and
exterior. Please keep in mind that is a 12 year old car, be realistic in your expectations. Please
ask any questions before the end of the auction. If you have less than
10 feedbacks, please check with me before bidding & state your paying
intentions The
reason that I am selling my car & a BMW R1200GS adventure motorcycle (see
my other listing) is due to the first newborn in the family, and we need an
SUV. Thank

car is located in Gaithersburg Maryland (20877)

2023 J.D. Power APEAL Study shows new-car customer satisfaction scores slip
Thu, Jul 20 2023J.D. Power survey results have been slightly up but mostly down for automakers this year, literally. In February, the 2023 Vehicle Dependability Study showed an overall decline compared the 2022 a month before the Customer Service Index Study did the same. The trend reversed in June with a better overall score on the 2023 U.S. Electric Vehicle Consideration Study than in 2022, then declined again the same month on with a lower overall score on the 2023 Initial Quality Study. The declines continue with the 2023 J.D. Power U.S. Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study, overall satisfaction among the 84,555 respondents down two points overall compared to 2022, to 845 out of 1,000 points. Because last year's score dropped compared to 2021, this year marks the first consecutive decline in the study's 28-year history. The study tries to "[measure] owners' emotional attachment and level of excitement with new vehicle" after 90 days of ownership by asking new owners to rate 37 attributes in 10 areas around the vehicle, such as the feeling they get when they hit the accelerator. Satisfaction with nine of the attributes is down this year versus last, fuel economy the only segment to show better results with 15 points more satisfaction. Styling and infotainment are big drags on satisfaction. Responses to new car exterior looks tallied 888 points, down from 894 last year, the largest drop in this year's study. On the digital side, less than half of those surveyed this year said they prefer using a manufacturer's built-in infotainment. From 70% of respondents in 2020 preferring to use a manufacturer's in-house software to play audio instead of Android Auto or Apple CarPlay, that's 56% in 2023. Going all-in on Google appears to have the best effect. J.D. Power said that vehicles with both Google's Android Automotive Operating System (AAOS) and Google Automotive Services (GAS) "score higher in the infotainment category than those with no AAOS whatsoever. AAOS without GAS receives the lowest scores for infotainment of the three categories."Â Frank Hanley, senior director of auto benchmarking at J.D. Power, said, "Despite the technology and design innovations that manufacturers put into new vehicles, owners are lukewarm about them. While innovations like charging pads, vehicle apps and advanced audio features should enhance an owner’s experience, this is not the case when problems are experienced.
BMW's Connected Drive feature vulnerable to hackers
Tue, Feb 3 2015BMW is working to fix a cyber-security flaw that has left 2.2 million vehicles worldwide vulnerable to hackers. Cars equipped with the automaker's Connected Drive remote-services system are affected, according to the German Automobile Association (ADAC), which first discovered the problem. Researchers found they could lock and unlock car doors by mimicking mobile communications and sending phony signals to a SIM card installed in affected vehicles. An attack could be launched "within minutes" of accessing the system without the perpetrators leaving a trace, according to their report, in part because once they had gained access to the network, the communications were not secure. In response to the security gap, BMW says it has been upgrading software via over-the-air updates over the past week, so no visits to dealerships are needed to remedy the security hole. In fact, owners of affected cars may not have even noticed the updates taking place. The problem affects BMW, Rolls-Royce and MINI vehicles equipped with Connected Drive since 2010. Flaws were first reported to BMW last year by ADAC, which is the country's equivalent of AAA. ADAC says it withheld a public announcement until the car company could address the problem. While BMW has pushed the software patch to most affected vehicles, the organization said it's possible some at cars in the United States had not yet been updated. BMW did not respond to a request for comment Monday. In a written statement, the automaker said it knows of no real-world breaches. 2015 Off To Dubious Start The hack could raise the eyebrows of industry leaders: Cars are now the equivalent of mobile computers and cyber-security experts have been warning that the auto industry has been slow to close its security holes. BMW's breach marks the second time in 2015 that researchers have found a popular automotive feature with little or no security precautions. Last month, experts said a popular device made by Progressive Insurance that allows motorists to track their driving habits contained no security whatsoever. Like the Connected Drive smart-phone app, many automotive components and infotainment features were conceived and produced at a time when industry executives never considered the possibility someone might want to hack into them. But increased connectivity brings increased risk. Going forward, BMW says its Connected Drive features will now operate by using encrypted communications via the HTTPS protocol.

Thu, 14 Nov 2013Road & Track recently staged its first annual Performance Car of the Year test, pitting 13 new and updated performance cars against each other on track, then graduating the top six to a road test before picking a winner. Additionally, the magazine staff picked the best automobiles of the year in eight categories.
