Hey whats up everyone im selling one of my E46 M3's this one was a back up i purchased in the event that anything happened on the track with my race built M3, i would just swap all the components over.

              - Alcantara e-brake
              - Alcantara by shifter
              - Alpine radio with bluetooth
              - ZCP shift knob
              - Carbon fiber wrapped interior pieces
              - Repplica bbs rims

All functions on the dash work, radio and all electronics in the car. Leather shows some wear, not the greatest but can be cleaned up,driver seat motor does not work, passenger seat motor functions work fine. The body is pretty clean minus the rear diffuser which has piece broken and pictured and minor dings from normal wear and tear. Diffuser can be acquired on ebay for cheap.

I purchased this with the ENGINE NOT functional. previous owner said the motor was blown so i did a quick visual inspection and saw no holes in the block and no oil leaks. With no visual damage to the engine it was no biggie and figured i would end up fixing or just swapping in a new engine. S54's are dime a dozen now but better yet maybe a V8 like my race car.

This is the perfect car for anyone looking for a project, race car platform, or if you have a spear s54 sitting around and need something to drop it in. Car comes with clean NY tittle and clean car fax.SOLD AS IS. Please ask all questions before bidding. Buyer is responsible for pick up. Shipment arrangements will be conducted by buyer. All is welcome to come check the car out before purchasing.

Jalopnik and Consumer Reports see who can pull off the best snow drift

Fri, Feb 20 2015

The weather throughout much of the United States is pretty awful at the moment with some combination of extremely low temperatures, inches of snow and maybe some ice underneath it all. The folks at Jalopnik and Consumer Reports are making the absolute best out of a difficult situation by heading to CR's snow-covered test track and attempting to make the longest drift in a quartet of very different performance vehicles. Jalopnik brought along a Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG S Wagon, a Subaru WRX STI, a BMW 228i and a 1973 Volkswagen Baja Bug (heck yeah!) for the challenge. Also, the track was perfect for this group, with a mix of packed snow in places and still a few inches of unsullied powder in spots too. Ostensibly the goal was to get the tail to step out through a particular corner, but in reality this was more about having hilarious fun in the snow with fast cars. The result just looks like the best time humanly possible in this weather.

BMW i8 Concours d'Elegance Edition is so cool it's Frozen

Fri, 15 Aug 2014

The new, one-of-a-kind BMW i8 Concours d'Elegance Edition made a ritzy debut last night at BMW's private villa, giving the media its first chance to look at the ultra-exclusive hybrid.
As we said in our previous post, the most notable feature of the Concours d'Elegance i8 is its matte grey paint, known as Frozen Grey Metallic in BMW parlance. This isn't the first time we've seen this shade on an exclusive BMW, as it was last used for the Frozen Grey M3 from 2010.
Contrasting quite nicely with the i8's flat paint are its blue and white accents, and its Dalbergia Brown leather upholstery. Blue contrast stitching complements the interior aesthetic, as do the embossed BMW roundels in the headrests.

BMW i3s traction control tech going in all BMW, Mini cars

Wed, Jan 3 2018

The BMW i3s is essentially a warmed-up version of the i3 electric car we all know and love. The performance boost isn't huge — just 14 horsepower and 15 pound-feet of torque — but it also gets a new suspension, wheels and tires as well as an improved traction control system. We found the car to benefit from all the updates when we drove it for our First Drive Review, but now BMW has offered up more details on just how the traction control system of the i3s helps make it better to drive. The company says it'll expand the technology to all future BMW and Mini models as well. The i3s's system is calibrated to help it to pull away quickly from a stop, making full use of the instantaneous torque offered by the electric motor. It also improves stability when accelerating out of corners, when using regenerative braking and, of course, when the road conditions are less than ideal. The results are palpable, and with the other improvements the i3s definitely feels stronger off the line, as we found on our drive. It's also about a half-second quicker to 60 miles per hour, at 6.8 seconds. The secret is in the response time of the stability control, which BMW claims is 50 times faster than the conventional system. This is made possible by moving the control process into the powertrain itself, rather than a remote unit. This reduces the signal path and, thus, the response time of the traction control system. BMW's Head of Chassis Development, Peter Langen, said of it, "With their high levels of torque and instantaneous responses to every movement of the accelerator, electric motors already make significantly higher demands on driving stability systems than conventional power units." While engineered to make the most of the electric motor, BMW says the shorter cycles of this traction control system show promise for internal combustion vehicles as well. As such, we'll begin to see the improved technology applied across the BMW and Mini lineups going forward. Related Video:
