1999 Bmw M3 Base Convertible 2-door 3.2l on 2040-cars

Year:1999 Mileage:153221
Location:

Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, United States

Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, United States

The car is in excellent shape, the paint looks fantastic.  Cosmetically, everything is factory, with a few exceptions.  The corner lights are smoke, the Roundel on the hood has been smoked, the roundel on the trunk has been replaced with an "M" logo, and the center caps with the BMW logos are not on the car right now.  I can restore all of the emblems/roundel back to factory if the winning bidder wishes.

The convertible top has bee replaced within the last year and is like new.  As you can see, the engine compartment and trunk are in great shape and show how well this car was cared for.  The front seats have some wear on them as can be seen from the photos.  Having said that, they are in much better shape than many M3's of this vintage.  The car is mechanically sound.  It runs and drives just as an M3 should.  There are no issues, and no lights in the dash are illuminated.  The car is ready to go and drive home.  Mechanically, a few upgrades have been made.  The clutch, brakes, suspension, and exhaust have been upgraded.  The car also has a short shift kit installed.

The convertible top has been replaced in the last year and the car has barely been driven since then, so the top is basically brand new.

The car looks good and drives great.  This E36 body style is a favorite among many M3 enthusiasts.  It is clean and pure.  I have put a lot of money into this car to keep it well maintained and tip top.  I have owned many BMW's and several M3's.  I do not beat these cars and take great care of them.  Any M owner knows how to treat these cars and appreciate them.

I am looking for this car to go to a good home and to an owner who will appreciate it and all the care that has been put into it.  FYI I am still driving the car here and there until it sells, although I do have a second car, so it should not be seeing much in the way of additional mileage.

I am putting this up with no reserve, so high bidder gets the car.  Any questions, feel free to call 609.923.2233 at anytime.  My dad is a huge bimmer guy and helped me by the car.  I am a student and due to expenses, I am down sizing.  Because of my busy schedule, my dad will be handling the inquiries and that is his cell phone number.  His name is Herc.  He knows more about this car and BMW's in general than anyone I know.  Of course, if you are serious about the car and need to speak to me directly, he will be happy to give you my number.

Thanks for looking at this vehicle and best of luck bidding.

-Alex

Toyota close to licensing deal with BMW for fuel cell technology

Wed, 23 Jan 2013

For over a year now, we've been hearing about a potential partnership between Toyota and BMW on everything from sports cars to lithium-ion batteries, but one of the first cooperative projects between these two automakers could bring Toyota's hydrogen fuel cell technology to a BMW vehicle. Reuters is reporting that an announcement is likely to be made as soon as later this week regarding a BMW fuel cell vehicle that could be in production by 2020 with a prototype running around by 2015.
The last we heard of Toyota's fuel cell technology, it was in the FCV-R Concept that we saw at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show, but there is no word how far along in development this system is. If it does come to fruition, such a vehicle for BMW would build on the automaker's commitment to hydrogen that started with the Hydrogen 7, which unlike a fuel cell vehicle, simply ran on hydrogen fuel rather than converting it to electricity for use in motors. We're definitely interested where this Toyota/BMW tie up could be headed.

Buy this Munro report, get a free BMW i3

Tue, Jan 13 2015

Here's an offer we've never heard of: if you buy the Master- or OEM-level version of a detailed production and cost report on the BMW i3, the engineering firm that produced the report will give you a 'free' i3. Munro & Associates is the company behind the study and the offer, its comprehensive breakdown of the production realities involved in the i3 including a video of the disassembly process of the range-extended hybrid and a detailed analysis of every part therein - everything from fuse boxes to crossbar beams, headlights and the battery pack. You've only got a day to take advantage, though - the report has to be purchased by the time CEO Sandy Munro gives his talk, "Deconstructing the BMW I3: Groundbreaking Technology and the Composite Car," in Detroit Wednesday morning. The price of said report? That's "TBD," so head to the Munro site if you're tempted by the idea of a new car that comes with a trunk full of paperwork. We just hope they're not selling the i3 that they tear down. The press release below has more information. Munro to Give Away 2014 BMW i3 with Every Purchase of the Consulting Firm's Master Teardown Report When Purchased at Two Upcoming Detroit Events DETROIT, Jan. 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Visitors to the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) during Preview Week often go home with a lot of swag and trinkets, but how about a $50,000 BMW i3? This year, a local engineering firm, Munro & Associates, is giving away a BMW i3 electric car with every purchase of the Master-/OEM-level version of its benchmarking study of this unique vehicle when purchased during NAIAS or the Plastics in Automotive Conference. The study, the most extensive of its kind, details the production and costs of every system in this carbon-fiber electric vehicle, which CEO Sandy Munro calls the most advanced vehicle on the planet. WHO: Munro & Associates, the global leader in manufacturing, costing and benchmarking. Using its proprietary advanced design, quality and costing software, Munro developed comprehensive reports on key vehicle systems and – for the first time – will offer the reports for general distribution. WHAT: A FREE 2014 BMW i3 for anyone who purchases the Master-/OEM-level report during Preview Week of NAIAS or during Sandy Munro's presentation at the Plastics in Automotive Conference.

History of BMW touring cars looks splendid in Adrenalin trailer

Wed, 15 Oct 2014

More high-quality documentaries about the history of motorsports are always welcome. When thinking about racing, we generally focus on moving forward to go a little faster or shave a tenth of a second off a lap. There's not much time to look backward. It's too bad, because there are so many fantastic stories from the sport's history. Thankfully, an upcoming doc is taking on the challenge of telling some of these tales, and it looks like a movie not to miss, especially for BMW fans.
Adrenalin - The BMW Touring Car Story mixes high-quality, vintage footage with new interviews from many of the drivers of these machines to craft what looks like a fantastic experience. Covering the period from the '60s to the modern DTM era, just the trailer shows racing from the 2002, 3.0 CSL and of course the E30 chassis M3 of the '80s. You also get to hear from legends behind the wheel like Hans-Joachim Stuck, Johnny Cecotto and Joachim Winkelhock telling their stories.
Adrenalin comes out in November on DVD, Blu-Ray and on-demand. Check out its trailer above for a taste at what it's aiming for. The documentary definitely looks like one to watch.
