Hello fellow enthusiasts/E-bay surfers,

I'm putting my prized OBDI E36 M3 up for sale for the sole reason that I am moving to Germany in 3 months and I cannot take it with me. That is also the reason I am asking for such a low price, because I don't have much time haggle prices. Shoot me an offer! Runs and drives like a dream, and the exterior is in amazing condition, especially for it's age! Just a few minor chips and scratches. Nothing major, all from age and previous owners. No missing parts. Surprisingly well kept leather interior all around. The driver seat is pretty much the only seat that shows age wear and it's not by much. The last owner ran a garage, so he had everything he needed to take really great care of it. I am the third owner and I have put just as much pride into the M3 as the previous ones. For most of the time I've owned it, it has been stored in the garage when not driven. It was at 218,XXX miles when I bought it. It is currently at 233,107 miles and well maintained and kept. Obviously being almost 2 decades old took it's naturally expected toll on a handful of the OEM parts and workings, so I did a few good system overhauls and part replacement/upgrades! If anyone has any questions on what OEM/aftermarket work and tuning has been performed please feel free to ask. That being said I'll get into the pros and cons lists of my baby.

PROS:

-New rear tires: 235/40ZR-17 Sumitomo HTR Z II (500 miles) (Super Grabby!)

-OEM Wood Interior Trim
-Original BMW multi-disc CD changer w/ spare disc cartridges
-All interior lights recently replaced, including odometer, radio, A/C controls, and OBD
-I just removed all the old faded tint from probably 1995, so the windows are fresh and clear
-A LOT of extra goodies come with it.
-OEM Spare M-Contour Rim (no tire/never used)
    -Euro 3.5" Comforti C/F Intake
    -US Air Box
    -US MAF
    -Extra ///M badge
    -OEM Engine Fan
    -US intake boot(x2)
-All original Manuals, window sticker, and leather bound BMW binder for all your paperwork

CONS(not many):
-Paint: just a few minor chips/scratches, nothing major
-Driver seat release cable is broken at the very end, so it doesn't manually release forward. It has been this way since before i owned it. It's an easy fix, but I haven't had any need to get around to it.
-JUST recently the passenger side window motor has decided to work when it wants to. The window only gets stuck up, not down. Super annoying, but all it needs is a new passenger window motor and it'll be fine.

As far as shipping goes, buyer are responsible for pick up/transportation. If buyer is within a 150 mile radius, I am willing to arrange a meeting/drop-off. I can work with pretty much any mode of payment. Cash in hand is ALWAYS preferred though.

BMW looking to save billions with cost cuts

Wed, 18 Jun 2014

BMW is planning a fairly extensive overhaul in a bid to recoup some its annual costs, with CEO Norbert Reithofer (pictured above) aiming to save three to four billion euro ($4 to $5.4 billion) per year to help keep the company's profit margins between eight and 10 percent, while also maintaining investments in production expansion and new tech. BMW's profit margins sat at 9.4 percent in 2013.
According to Automotive News Europe, Reithofer is none too pleased about costs at Mini and on the 1 Series, although neither AN nor its source story, from Germany's Manager Magazin, elaborate on what steps could be taken to improve losses on either project. That makes it hard to figure out just where the fat will be trimmed from.
What may happen, though, is that BMW attempts to trim 100 million euros ($135 million) from its German labor costs each year; a solution hinted at a few weeks ago by Germany newspaper Muenchner Merkur. While a dramatic cost reduction, 100 million euros still doesn't begin to even approach the savings envisioned by Reithofer.

BMW considering building 3 Series in North America

Sun, 13 Apr 2014

There might be even more BMWs coming from North America soon. The company recently announced plans to build a flagship crossover called the X7 at its Spartanburg, SC, factory. Now, rumors are emerging that the Bavarians might be thinking about building a second North American factory that could build its quick-selling 3 Series.
According to Bloomberg, the German luxury giant is considering several possible locations for a North American factory, including two in Mexico, that may build the 3. "We will decide this in the next months. On the North American continent, there's still potential," said BMW production boss, Harald Krueger, in an interview meant for company staff obtained by Bloomberg.
If BMW decides to open a plant in Mexico, it would be following its rival Audi, which already announced construction of a factory there. Mercedes-Benz has been rumored to be working on a deal with Nissan to build its cars South of the Border as well. Rumors of Bimmer considering Mexican production have also cropped up in the past, so it wouldn't come as a total surprise to hear it made official.

BMW maintenance plan no longer transferrable to 2nd owner

Tue, 12 Aug 2014

One of the best innovations in car buying in recent years is the rise of no-cost scheduled maintenance programs. Many people feel really anxious about taking their car in for service, and these deals help mitigate that somewhat. Obviously, it's not free for automakers to implement the offers, and now BMW is altering the way its four-year, 50,000-mile Maintenance Program works for some owners. "To keep such an offer sustainable we had to make a change," said Kenn Sparks, Manager of Business Communications at BMW North America, to Autoblog via email.
The original person to buy or lease the model isn't going to see any difference, but the program is no longer transferable to a second owner, unless that person is in the owners household. Those people include includes parents, siblings, grandparents and grandchildren, in addition to someone like a spouse or children. The original owner just has to advise BMW of new user. "The program change will affect 2nd owners and for them BMW is introducing an optional full-maintenance product that covers the vehicle up to 100,000 miles," said Sparks.
