Clean Title, Heavily Modified and Finely Tuned. I have the CARFAX also. To answer the first question on everyone's mind, I am posting this because it is becoming impractical for me and my family to have it. My family is growing, I need a four door vehicle or a house with more garage space. Since the later is less realistic for me, the car can be replaced for something the whole family can use. This car has been a joy to build and use. I've owned it for about 6 years and have clocked less than 6,000 miles per year on it. It has been babied. Any little tick or sound has been remedied and fixed about the moment I notice it. I have documents and receipts totalling over $27,000 in repairs and modifications not including what I paid to buy the car. I'm sure there are several hundreds of dollars more I don't have receipts for repairs and modifications. Repairs were to replace worn out parts, like the alternator and water pump, and modifications are a plenty. I bought this car from my best friend who needed the money at the time. Besides the engine swap, I did the rest of the modifications. The only thing that is left original on this car, basically, is the drivetrain and disc brakes.
Here is a list of the changes made to this car from stock:
The car remains OBD I
3.0 motor replaced with a new 3.2 liter motor at 111,246 miles

There are most likely parts i've missed listing, but the major stuff is there. I have tons of extra parts too. The A/C blows cold and everything works. I have a sub-box and amp in the trunk too. The little computer in the center console had some pixels not working so I just unplugged it. From what you could read, it worked just fine, it just annoyed me. There are some paint blemishes on the front from regular driving on the crappy Utah roads, tiny rocks and stuff are unforgiving. There is also a crack in the LF headlight casing and bumper cover in the center area. There are minor scratches here and there, but barely noticable. I tried taking pictures of them, but they just don't show up well enough, that is how minor they are.
This baby dynoed at 302 rear wheel horsepower at 6 psi of boost. I'm sure if you drove it down to sea level it would dyno around 375 rear wheel horsepower and be pushing around 9 psi. I have a group of friends with a similar setup on their M3's and they are at sea level and that is what their power and boost levels are at. She is a sleeper for sure. I pass the emissions tailpipe sniffer and inpection every year with flying colors. This car is fully street legal and safe with a CLEAN title. I drove it to work and back for the last 6 years which is why you will only see about 5-6,000 miles per year on it. My bride hates driving the clutch and we hate packing the family in the smallness of it when we take it out. Like I said before, it is impractical for me and my family.
I am looking for the right buyer. I have it listed locally (and reserve the right to end the listing early) and have many offers from my BMW CCA. Since I am not desperate to sell, we (our group including the people offering) decided to have some fun with it. We wanted to see how high an offer I can get for it in a 21 day period which is why it is posted here. We high-balled the buy-it-now just so we can give some breathing room for the offers. To help give you an idea of what we are looking at and what offer you might want to make, the lowest offer I have is 10,000 and that is locally and cash. It will sell for at least that.
The car is genuinely for sale and I am not up a creek if it doesn't sell so, please, no low ball offers and if you come to see it, no joy rides. I respectfully ask for serious interest only. Obviously nobody can buy this car with a conventional auto loan, you'll need more than that. Thank you for reading this far. Please email me with ANY questions before you bid or offer. I will be happy to talk over the phone too, just email me if you're interested. The car is sold AS-IS with no warranty expressed or implied. I'll only accept cash or a cashiers check from a reputable bank or credit union. Once payment has cleared I will give up possession of the car.

BMW against Merkel's female board member quota in Germany
Fri, Nov 28 2014There may soon be more women in power positions in the world of German business under a proposed law from Chancellor Angela Merkel's coalition government. If passed, the law would force large, publicly traded corporations to have female members make up at least 30 percent of their supervisory boards (which are responsible in part for business strategy) by 2016. In addition, all companies would have to increase the female proportion on their management boards, which conduct regular business. The law seems likely to pass next month. "We've decided to do this and it will happen," said Merkel in a speech about the new rule, according to Bloomberg. Women currently have just six percent of management board seats in the country. Big businesses in the country aren't on board with proposed law, including automakers. "BMW as a company doesn't believe in quotas," said spokesperson Jochen Frey to Bloomberg. "While we hold that opinion, we want and strive for diversity in our workforce in terms of gender, ethnicity and age." Currently, 25 percent of Bimmer's supervisory board is female, a bit higher than the national average in Germany of 22 percent. German car companies are hardly alone when it comes to having a paucity of women in positions of power. Honda only added its first female member to the automaker's board of directors earlier this year, and Toyota and Nissan showed similarly low numbers. A 2013 list from Fortune ranked many of the most powerful women in the auto industry as coming from North America.
Dinan S3-R BMW 1M Coupe
Wed, 02 Apr 2014I nearly shed tears a few years ago upon learning that BMW was only planning to produce a very limited quantity of its then-new 2011 1 Series M Coupe. In simplest terms, the two-door was a 1 Series fitted with a modified version of the automaker's twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six, and the running gear (gearbox, driveshaft, axles) from contemporary M3 models. It was also a return to form for the brand. Aggressively short and stubby in stature but packing telltale flared wheel arches that hinted at its potential, the four-seater was a spiritual successor to the original (and much loved) E30 M3 from decades earlier.
After spending a day with the original high-performance 1 at New York's Monticello Motor Club, I declared, "The little coupe with the big flares is old-school retro cool and deliciously fun to drive ... the new BMW 1 Series M Coupe doesn't target boy-racers, it targets enthusiasts." Yet sadly - and despite strong demand - BMW limited the model's production to just one year. All told, only 740 units made it to the States, and each was gobbled up at a starting price of $46,135, a price tag history will show to be a bargain.
Since I had little hope of even driving one again, I deliberately pushed all memories of BMW's 1 Series M Coupe from my mind - until my phone rang recently. On the other end was a representative from Dinan Engineering who wanted to know if I would be interested in driving the company's new S3-R BMW 1M. A quick Google search revealed it to be a heavily modified version of the discontinued 1 Series M Coupe. As if they needed an answer...
