This car has been garaged and pampered all her life, most of it spent in Florida. The paint is 100% original, great shine,looks like new. She is of course 18years old so has a few slight imperfections, none visable from 5-6 feet. There is one slight "ding" on left rear panel , see photo, again hardly noticeable. The paint is not cracked over this , so as I said hard to spot. The inside is flawless includes roof liner. All lights work and no check engine light.The engine compartment is as it was when she was new.Tires are new .approx 100 miles.Rims clean no curb rash etc .Trunk 6 disc CD player. Engine purrs beautifully and is dry. Recently valve cover gaskets done.Like I said this car is 18 years old, but she is absolutely gorgeous and a definate head turner wherever she goes. Runs, shifts drives like the top of the line Beemer that she is.There were only 1,100 of these sold in the US that year and I have no problem saying this girl is one of the very best of these remaining.They are becoming harder and harder to find. If you are in the market for this make model Beemer and find one this clean, this well looked after etc etc at this price I will consider giving you this one for free. Why am I selling her?, well I am running out of room. I also have two '95 540' sedans, a 2001 540IT and a 2005 545i and the bosslady says one of them has to go .Why did I pick her?, I am 69 years old and she is the hardest to get in and out of, it is that simple old age is wonderful :o) .She really is one sweet car. Vorsteiner BMW M4 GTRS4 shows how to do a widebody at SEMA
Wed, 05 Nov 2014Part of the joy of the SEMA Show is that all of the best tuners in the world are competing to show off their wares, and the challenge often pushes the companies into some absolutely insane directions. Case in point: Vorsteiner and its ludicrous GTRS4 wide body kit with the BMW M4.
According to Auto Evolution, the kit reportedly adds 4 inches in the front to fit 10.5-inch-wide wheels and a massive 7-inches more in the rear to snug in 13.5-inch-wide wheels, but spinning around the BMW in these images makes the changes look even more extreme. Beyond just the extra room in the fenders, the lower air intakes are ready to suck in huge volumes of cool air, and there's a front splitter to keep things planted. The front and rear extensions are joined by side sills that grow the farther back they go. Finally, at the rear, the M4 gets a reworked diffuser with mesh inserts.

BMW broadens engine bolt recall to nearly half-million cars worldwide
Fri, 11 Apr 2014Almost one month ago, we reported on a BMW investigation into a potentially defective bolt that lived in the company's VANOS variable valve timing system. At that point, the potential recall was seemingly limited to Chinese-market cars; the company was filing a recall application with Chinese officials.
Today, Bloomberg is reporting that the engine bolt issue has expanded into a recall for several world markets, involving some 489,000 vehicles. BMW was able to verify that report to Autoblog, while also providing a great deal more detail about the issue and vehicles affected.
The recall affects vehicles powered by N55 inline six-cylinder gasoline engines equipped with VANOS and Valvetronic technologies. 1 Series, 3 Series, 5 Series and 5 Series Gran Turismo, X3, X5, X6 and Z4 models from the 2010 to 2012 model years are included, as is the 2012 6 Series.

Both the non-M BMW 3 Series sedan and 4 Series coupe have so far brought much pleasure to us at Autoblog. The terrific four-cylinder 328i trim has become our favorite of the 3 Series line, while we have yet to get a chance at the 428i coupe. That said, the 35i trim powered by a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder engine is not exactly to be sniffed at.
We all know the ones you're really waiting for, though. The F80 fifth-generation M3 sedan and the supremely sexy F82 M4 coupe. Rumors have been buzzing for a couple of years now that the engine would be another V8, only turbocharged this time, or else a tri-turbo six. Well, today BMW confirmed that the mill under the hood's power bulge is a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder TwinPower Turbo of the biturbo variety, referred to internally as "S55B30 variant."
