I said I would never do it but I am selling my beloved 1989 635csi. If you are interested in a 635csi, then you know this was the last model year. The interior is basically an L6 with leather on lower dash, door panels and seats. I have owed and cared for this E24 for about 5 years, and it was previously owned by a fellow club member. This is an excellent example of an unmolested e24. It is not a show car but a very clean and well maintained occasional driver. I drive it about 1 weekend a month to keep it fresh and maintained. Then it is washed and put back under the water proof cover, which is included. This car gets a lot of attention everywhere I go. Obviously everywhere I take it someone wants to buy it. I will be as detailed as I can to illustrate the condition of the car.

The exterior paint, trim, and mechanics are very presentable and serviceable inside and out. Upon close inspection some hazing is noticeable  these are the flaws, that are noticeable upon close inspection:

  1. Some hazing in the paint on the passenger side. The hazing is not noticeable at a distance and is common with these cars. It is not detectable in the pictures. By checking the door jambs, it appears to have been repainted some time ago, repaint was professionally done. It does have a few very small nicks from road use, but there is no damage on the car. I had the spoiler repaired and repainted about 6 months ago as there was a crack in the very center. It now has a small abrasion on the lower lip (thanks to my son), that is not very noticeable. There is no damage to the spoiler. There is a small paint imperfection on the lower edge of the trunk - I tried to capture it in the picture but it is not noticeable. 
  2. The onboard computer works but the backlight is out. I have a replacement light that is included.
  3. One of the climate control sliders is broken. I have a complete excellent condition center unit that will be included. I just haven't had time to replace it.
  4. The A/C was professionally converted to r134 in 2013 and work excellent; front and rear.
  5. All dash gauges work and there are no check lights on.
  6. There are no cracks on the dash or seats. The driver's seat has sheepskin cover installed. It shows normal wear, but there are no tears or cracks. There is sheepskin for the passenger seat that has not been installed, but is included. 
  7. The headliner is in good condition with no sagging or tears.

The following Non OEM upgrades have been done:

  1. Lowered suspension with Bilstein shocks/struts and sport springs.
  2. B&B stainless steel catback exhaust.
  3. 17" OEM BMW 3 piece wheels - The wheels are in good condition and not bent. Upon close inspection there is some minor hazing in the clear coat.
  4. Window tint (not real dark but the maximum UV blockage
  5. Front Strut bar.

The car rides on Continental Extreme Contacts that have about 15k miles on them, so there is plenty of thread left. As you can see this is a 5 speed and it is original and rare. This is car that is ready to drive anywhere. NADA describes good condition as "an older restoration or a well-maintained original vehicle. Completely operable. A 20-footer." This 635csi is above average condition. I ran CARFAX and it adjusts the NADA retail up $920. I have set my Buy Now at a very fair price. If she doesn't sell I am content to keep it as it will only increase in value.

For the Buy Now price I will include new front suspension parts I bought about a year ago because just wanted to replace them. However, my technician said they were not needed. Included are R&L tire rods, sway bar links, center link, R&L / upper and lower strut rods.

Hyundai, its partner Kia and its Genesis division are the big winners in the latest vehicle safety ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, accounting for six of the 15 models that earned the Top Safety Pick+ awards for 2018. Subaru was right behind with four, Mercedes-Benz had two, and Toyota, BMW and Ford each had one. Another 47 vehicles earned the Top Safety Pick designation, where Toyota had 10 vehicle models, with Hyundai recognized for nine models. All but one of the seven vehicles in Subaru's lineup, the BRZ, qualified for one of the awards. IIHS strengthened the criteria for the Top Safety Pick+ award for 2018 to require headlights to earn a "good" rating — an "acceptable" rating was previously enough to notch the "plus" award — and good or acceptable passenger-side protection in the small overlap front crash, which replicates a crash involving just the front corner of a vehicle. It also required vehicles to have acceptable or good headlights for the first time to earn a Top Safety Pick award. Most of winners for both awards qualified on the basis of optional upgrades. IIHS in October began evaluating the passenger side of vehicles in its small overlap front crash test after it said it became clear that automakers were neglecting that side of the vehicle as they focused on improving driver-side protections. IIHS first began conducting driver-side small overlap crashes in 2012. It began measuring both how well low and high beams illuminated the road and the amount of glare they produce for oncoming vehicles as part of its ratings in 2016. The Top Safety Pick+ winners are listed below. The list doesn't include any minivans, pickups or minicars, which don't appear on either list of awardees. BMW unleashes new M4 racer on DTM

We may not get to enjoy the fruits of it all, but we're in the midst of a golden age in touring car racing around the world. In Northern Europe, rival local series have amalgamated into the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship. In the UK, the British Touring Car Championship is enjoying the largest and most diverse grid in its long history. In Australia, the V8 Supercars series has grown from a Holden vs. Ford battle to include challengers from Mercedes, Nissan and Volvo. And in Germany, the DTM championship has managed to lure BMW back onto the grid to open up the battle between Mercedes and Audi. All good things, in short.
Since returning to the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters in 2012, BMW has won the drivers' title once and the constructors' title twice, proving the Bavarian manufacturer to be not only a suitable challenger to the two-horse race between its star- and ring-emblazoned rivals, but the dominant force in German tin-top racing. Now BMW is set to enter its third season since returning to the DTM, and this is the car with which it intends to do so.
Replacing the M3 DTM that has impressively won half of the DTM races it has contested over the past two years, BMW's latest racing car is made in the mold of the new M4 coupe. Only it's even meaner. While the production version has switched to a turbo six, the DTM version still uses a V8: a 4.0-liter unit with four-valve cylinder heads, mandatory air restrictors and a Bosch ECU to channel 480 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque to the rear set of Hankook racing slicks through a six-speed sequential gearbox. The lightweight chassis is rounded out with competition-level aerodynamics and all the mandatory safety equipment.
