1988 Bmw 635 Csi Zinnoberrot on 2040-cars
Newport, Tennessee, United States
You are reviewing a 1988 BMW 635CSi. The car has the tried and true 3.5L 6 cylinder engine, backed by a 4 speed automatic selectable transmission (manual, economy, sport). Power windows, locks, power seats, headrests, sunroof, air conditioning (front and rear with console cooler), factory radio, 18" Mille Miglia wheels with new (within the last month) Toyo Proxes rubber. The interior does show normal wear for a 26 year old vehicle. Driver seat bolster is torn, but doesn't affect the ride. The interior is all leather including the headliner. All driver gauges work as should and there are no service lights indicating. Recent oil change. Both fuel pumps have been replaced with new ones in the last 6 months. car runs and drives as it should. Before I got the car, the car had sat for most of the last 5 years (garaged), so a few minor problems have arose from this, mainly the transmission pan gasket is seeping (I have a new gasket just haven't installed yet) an a minor oil leak at valve cover. I drive this car a couple days a week to work (50 mile round trip) and it always brings a smile to my face. I always receive compliments on the car wherever I go. The few issues I would resolve are like I said above, the two gaskets, as well as the switch/motor for the power sunroof works intermittently (although those crafty Germans built in a manual crank if needed), the driver door needs new plastic clips and the radio antenna needs inspection as it was not extending when I got the car, and I rebuilt it with new gears, and it still doesn't extend, the ac is not working as of this moment and will need a few lines hooked back up. It does blow, just not cold (since the lines aren't connected and charged). The temperature selector (dial) needs the pivot arm replaced (I have this as well) and the passenger outer door handle rod has come loose ( I have the suspected broken piece for this as well.) All in all, this is a true beauty. Today, as in recent years, many people look to the 635CSi as the last great styling design from BMW, as its classic stature still rings beautiful to this day. Item is for sale locally, so auction may be ended at any time. |

2015 BMW X4 is a budget X6
Wed, 16 Apr 2014We won't argue that crossovers are hugely successful vehicles, with automakers working to provide functional CUVs in a wide range of sizes. But over at BMW, things are just getting out of hand, as evidenced by this new X4 "Sports Activity Coupe" that debuts here at the 2014 New York Auto Show.
BMW is seeing fit to offer vehicles in even the most niche of niches, and the X4 is no exception. Want proof? Have a look at the X4, and the compare it to the X3, the 3 Series Gran Turismo, the 3 Series Sport Wagon, and the 4 Series Gran Coupe. Aside from marginal differences in things like ground clearance and the exact slope of the hatchback, what, exactly, is the difference?
Like the other models we just mentioned, the X4 is powered by either a 2.0-liter turbo-four with 240 horsepower or a more powerful, 3.0-liter turbo-six with 300 horsepower, and unsurprisingly, power is sent to the ground exclusively via the company's xDrive all-wheel-drive system. An eight-speed automatic transmission is the sole gearbox available with either engine. All sounds very familiar, right?
Sunday Drive: Taking a gaze into the automotive crystal ball
Sun, Oct 22 2017Mankind has long been fascinated by the future. So it makes sense that this past week's top stories were all about cars, trucks, and SUVs that won't be hitting the market until the 2019 model year. And right at the top of the list is the Ram 1500. We've come to know Ram as the truck maker that styles its pickups with cues cribbed from big rigs, but that look has slowly evolved over time into something uniquely its own. The next Ram 1500 continues this trend, with a newly refined look that we can't wait to see in person. Up next is the 2019 Chevy Silverado. Pickup trucks have been, continue to be, and will remain the best-selling vehicles in America. And General Motors is a leader in the field, with two distinct offerings with which to entice buyers, one from the bread-and-butter Chevrolet brand and one wearing the slightly more upscale GMC badge. The Chevy looks to get LED lighting elements for 2019, which ought to keep the truck from looking dated when compared to the Ford F-150 and the previously mentioned Ram 1500. From there we move past pickup trucks and into SUVs and sedans. The 2019 Jeep Cherokee looks to get toned down a bit with its next refresh, and the '19 BMW 3 Series continues its slow evolutionary journey at the top of its aspirational sales pedestal. Finally, spy shots give way to official production reveals for the 2019 Audi A7 and Polestar 1. This pair of European luxury cars won't compete with one another – one is a rakish hatchback and the other a sports coupe – any further than for the eyeballs of our readers, but both proved popular enough to merit inclusion in our weekly roundup. As always, tune in to Autoblog next week for a front-row seat to all the happenings worth following in the automotive industry. 2019 Ram 1500 spotted without the classic crosshairs 2019 Chevy Silverado spied with new LED accents 2019 Jeep Cherokee reveals a much more normal face 2019 BMW 3 Series spy shots reveal production lights, new interior details 2019 Audi A7 revealed: More torque, refined styling Polestar 1 First Look | The 600 horsepower hybrid Scandinavian Green Audi BMW Chevrolet Jeep RAM Volvo Truck Hatchback SUV Future Vehicles Hybrid Luxury Performance Sedan sunday drive polestar 1
Wagons make a bit of a comeback, with new models, sales on the rise
Thu, Jan 10 2019Consider this an official invitation to hop on the wagon bandwagon. There's still tons of room because, well, it's a wagon (and market share is still extremely small). But according to new data, the segment is growing. According to a report from Bloomberg, using data from Edmunds.com, roughly 211,600 Americans purchased wagons in 2018. That is technically down from the 237,600 sold in 2017, but wagon sales in the U.S. are up 29 percent from where they were five years ago. It's also the third year in a row that wagon sales broke the 200,000 mark. The sales trends have been somewhat representative of the availability of wagons. New models have debuted during the past 5 years and therefore offer more opportunity at more brands to buy wagons. In addition to more modest cars such as the Volkswagen Golf Sportwagen, several luxury and performance brands are offering wagons today, such as Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Porsche, Jaguar, Volvo and Buick. (Bloomberg's headlines make the point that "crossovers are for the Kardashians," and wagons are just, well, classier.) This uptick in brand-name availability, as well as extremely well-executed design on most of the wagons currently available, has helped increase the segment's desirability. That, and its ability to better accomplish the same tasks at hand while standing out from the crossover and SUV crowd. Still, the posted numbers represent a small fraction of the total vehicles sold. According to the data, wagons only held a 1.4 percent market share in 2017, the segment's best recent year. Wagons hold a steadfast place in America's past, and they're writing an interesting new story. With the downturn in traditional cars, they may continue to create an unexpected narrative.
