A $500 DEPOSIT IS DUE IMMEDIATLY AT AUCTION END.

It has spent almost its entire life without being driven in snow or rain.  Always adult collector car enthusiast owned.  Always pampered and well cared for.  Always maintained and it shows inside and out.

I bought this car as one of my bucket list cars to own and drive before I turned 50.  I hunted for the car for a few years and finally found one that fit the bill.  I am not mech. inclined and I wanted the best car I could actually drive and so I purchased this car.  It runs beautifully and looks just as good.  Out of all the cars I have collected and drove this car got more attention than anything.  It has been in numerous shows throughout its life and I have had it in some as well.  When I took it in to get a oil change people came in to take pictures of it.  Wherever I go whenever I stop people always comment.  So much so that my daughter is tired of it.  Basically you could drive it anywhere home.  It has always been a perfect car for me.  I know it has always had oil changes and all fluid changes.  It has recently had the fluids changed, water pump, alternator, belts, tune up, tightened up the front suspension with new parts as well.  It also has the upgraded 88 parts on it since it was a very late 87.  They told me this means a upgraded motor a limited slip diff. and some other things inside and out.  From the previous owner I learned that he knew the owner before him had never had it in snow or rain and was a avid collector.  He also said that some performance mods or upgrades have been done too.  I do not know for sure just know it has been a great car.

There are gravel chips in the lower front spoiler and a total of 3 other ones outside of that.  There is also touch up paint with it too.  Like I said the car is straight no digs..nothing!  The paint is excellent with zero fade.  Sometime in its life it was completely repainted.

The interior has dash cracks, nothing I could do about that.  The interior otherwise is in great condition.

If you spent say...$500 and knew the right sources it could be a 9.99 out of 10.

I enjoyed it.  And still do.  It is for sale so I can close this out at any time.  I have a reserve on it which is very fair for the car.

With what you get it is a amazing deal.  If you took your money elsewhere you would buy something that depreciates, is junk or will break down.

You will always get your money back and more if you take care of this car.

I think you will get a good 50K easily before you have anything more than routine maint.

That being said it is as is no warrenty...it is a old collector car.

With what you save on lic. insurance, parts, etc.  I would consider driving this classic everyday if that is what you want.  It is reliable, beautiful, very low out of pocket and long term durability.  And if you wish to find something else, you will be able to sell it and get all of you rmoney back and possibly more.

Watch Atieva's electric van outrun a BMW i8 and Dodge Viper

Mon, Aug 8 2016

A little while back, automotive startup Atieva drag raced its electric van, called Edna, against a Tesla Model S and a Ferrari California in order to compare its performance against known and revered mechanical athletes. Again, the Silicon Valley-based company is putting its prototype up against electrified and conventionally powered performance vehicles on the drag strip. Last time around, Edna, the Mercedes-Benz Vito van equipped with a 900-horsepower, all-wheel-drive powertrain, bested both of its foes. In that showcase, Edna was hitting 60 mph in a little over three seconds. Comparatively, BMW lists the i8's 0-60 time at 4.2 seconds, though Road & Track clocked it at 3.8 seconds, with a quarter-mile time of 12.3 seconds. The Viper does 0-60 in 3.4 seconds. Before you even watch the video above, you can imagine how it will end, as the retuned Atieva Edna rips 0-60 mph in 2.94 seconds. Atieva clocked the quarter mile at 11.3 seconds at 117 mph. It's worth noting that driver skill can have a lot to do with a car's straight-line performance. We've witnessed Viper's elapsing the quarter mile in well under 12 seconds, which means it should be quicker in this test than the i8, if not the Edna. Still, the performance showcased in the video is exceptional. To improve Edna's stats, Atieva says it has used testing data to fine tune its AC induction motors at higher speeds once it got low-speed performance locked in. After testing in the hot California sun, including the race you see above, Atieva drove Edna 90 miles home with range to spare. As for production plans, Atieva will put this powertrain into a sedan slated for sale in 2018. In the meantime, the company will keep testing and tuning its working prototype, and has even invited the public to put their cars up against Edna in future sessions. A Tasty Bit Of Old School For The New School
Against the backdrop of fervent hand-wringing from brand purists, BMW is on the cusp of finally offering front-wheel-drive vehicles. While that's a shock to the constitution, many are pointing to the company's fine-handling Mini offerings as an article of faith that it can get this drivetrain paradigm shift right. That may be true, but there's an even more important lesson that Mini has taught the decision-makers in Munich: how to make real money on small cars.
Before Mini came along, BMW - along with seemingly every other premium European automaker - never really figured out how to coax big dollars out of American wallets without developing cars that had large footprints, at least those other than sports cars. While the automaker really got rolling in America on the strength of little bantamweights like the 2002, it veered away from small cars sometime in the '80s. BMW subsequently crashed and burned with the cut-and-shut 318ti built off its E36 3 Series and, good as it is, the 1 Series hasn't given the company meaty volume or profits, either. Among other brands, the Audi A3 has never rung up big numbers, and the less said about the painful sales figures of the Volvo C30, the better. But Mini has beat the odds, blazing a more affordable and evidently compelling trail. As of late, the company's Countryman softroader has been a massive hit worldwide. No surprise then that BMW has reconsidered bringing over its smallest softroader, the X1, to the US.

As BMW i3 US launch nears, more details discovered

Thu, May 1 2014

Think of the BMW i3's gas-powered range-extender as akin to driving around with a middle linebacker in the back seat. Except that football player will have a hard time pushing the car 60 miles or so once the battery runs out. Thankfully, he won't prevent you from getting a nifty tax credit either, according to BMWBlog, which isn't affiliated with the company. The i3's front storage compartment is not watertight. Here in the US, where the i3 will be available in short order, BMW will offer an optional i3 plug-in vehicle with a range extender that will have a 1.9-gallon capacity gas tank. That sounds a good deal smaller than the 2.4-gallon tank used in Europe, but the two are actually the same, the US tank is simply limited to the smaller size, Dave Buchko, from BMW's product and technology communications department, told AutoblogGreen. The complete range extender system – including the tank, the engine, and all related hardware – adds about 265 pounds to the 2,634-pound curb weight of the i3 EV and the extra weight in turn adds about a second to the EV's 0-to-60 time of seven seconds flat. Adding the range-extender won't make the US government take any longer to dole out a $7,500 tax credit for the i3, though. We also learned that the i3's front storage compartment is not watertight since it is only meant to hold the mobility kit and the 110-volt charging cord. BMW recently increased its production of the i3 at its German factory from around 70 units a day to about 100 due to better-than-expected demand. Check out our First Drive impressions of the model here.
